Just wondering -_-
I don’t buy the whole reviving Cortana thing. It’s really cheesy and would pretty much make Halo 4 irrelevant.
Mendicant Bias seems like a stretch too. There hasn’t been any evidence towards it besides speculation.
Janus Key seems most likely out of all of these, but it’s unclear if the Halo: Escalation comics are happening before or after Chief went AWOL.
My best guess is that he went AWOL trying to cope with Cortana’s loss. There is obviously a bigger meaning behind it but it’s still unclear to everyone.
Can i ask anyone why anyone even wants Cortana revived. I want a good reason beside the fact that the she was a major character of the series because thats a terrible excuse. Or that ‘she and chief went through hell together’ because Chief and Cortana Chief and Cortana only worked together in 2552 and the events of halo 4, thats a short friendship compared to his friendship to his fellow spartan twos like blue team. Plus Chief accepted Cortana’s death, its time fans did to.

There are ways to bring Cortana back that do not render Halo 4 irrelevant (like it needs the help…nope…nope…) Say, a new Cortana model with a completely different personality and memory, one that hurts Chief by existing more than it helps. Perhaps one that acts with the ONI’s best interests at heart, instead of the Chief’s. Perhaps one that could be a personal antagonist, betraying Chief to aid Locke because of her coding.
Or perhaps Chief nearly finds a way to bring her back and simply fails. He finally gets to Halsey but there’s nothing she can do.
See, if we knew why Chief went rogue, we could just come up with the actual plot of Guardians. That’s the only variable in this situation.

I would actually be fine with this.
I think the flood are coming back. I haven’t forgotten about the flood spore on the Spirit of Fire, and the slipspace anomalies may be flood-related.

Because, unlike you, who doesn’t have a heart and would rather have Cortana stay dead, I see Cortana as Chief’s humanity. And when she died, Chief’s humanity died. Master Chief has clearly proven that he will do anything for Cortana. For example, Master Chief refused to hand Cortana over to the disrespectful (and cowardly) Captain Del Rio.
Cortana was probably the best thing that ever happened to Master Chief. And if that’s not good enough for you… I pity you.

Heaven forbid he learn how to regain his humanity on his own.
Finding his place and purpose in the new world after 2525-2553.
That seems to happen by taking the role of a vigilante.

He’d still have his humanity if it weren’t for you, you monster!

It’ll certainly be much more interesting than Cortana acting as a crutch and helping him out along the way. He’s going to have to discover his humanity on his own, and I can’t wait to see him do it.

I don’t know if I’d say that a glassy smear counts as human, but alright.
I don’t believe Chiefs motives are about reviving cortana, however cortanas death/ghost will play some role of what the chief is up.
We won’t know till we will play the game so I am going to assume his motives are about saving puppies.
I really don’t know but i choose other because the other-options really don’t convince me, we’ll know until we play the campaign
Honestly it looks like chief is merely doing his usual job in H5, protecting humanity, just the Cortana ghost, whatever it may be, is toying with chief to presumably accomplish its goal. Even the ghosts message plays into ‘protect humanity’, its not saying “Hey chief im alive come revive me!”.
We don’t know yet.
Kicking -Yoink- and chewing bubblegum.
Although Cortana is dead, I think she will play an important role in the Campaign like the Cortana moments in Halo 3. However I don’t think Chief is searching for a way to revive her. A plot like that seems too predictable.
Right now only chief and 343 know

So are you being sarcastic, or…?
