What are Halo Infinite's Biggest Problems?

Yeah, I wonder just how many people would still be playing if not for this. It’s just game breaking for a lot of people. It’s kind of hard to reach that “broader audience” when they come to try and play the game and it doesn’t work. People aren’t going to stick around very long when they have plenty of other games to choose from.

Server selection and being able to quit game without penalty when half your team has already quit are things that should have been implemented from the start. They already had those things in MCC so it is really confusing why they wouldn’t put them in Infinite.

i just want a social ranking system so i can play towards something like in the old halos and it will make the challenge system better and worth it like in reach i play towards nothing in infinite even if im having fun

Very true! Or a File Share!

Networking and lag is important. If you can’t play game doesn’t matter how good everything else is and it’s not acceptable on a 4v4 arena mode. But for me:

  • An underwhelming, small scale and short campaign that’s really just chapter 1 and a tease for DLC we’re not even sure they’re doing anymore.

  • Lack of a big player count game type. I am more a fan of BTB and the Battlefield style of games than 4v4 arena on 3 lane maps. Not sure if this is such a change it can be accommodated in Infinite. I don’t see adding Land Grab or Fiesta as adding new content to the game.

  • The fact they haven’t got basic features like Custom browser, Forge, campaign co-op and theatre. These won’t solve the games issues but it’s just embarrassing that they aren’t in.

  • Their content drops are coming every 6 months and there’s not much in the way of content. Compare this to what other games companies put out.

  • The multiplayer story had a fairly weak narrative hook. Banished have a chatty AI and there’s an Archive we want into. Okay, what’s in the box? Again, stakes are being kept low.

In short, there’s nothing exciting going on with the game. It’s worrying that the best we can hope for a year post launch is getting forge, Co-Op and a progression system.

If they had some sort of XP rank system similar to what MCC has now (or previous Halo games), I think many of the complaints about how the ranked playlist works would go away.

People want something to grind for and CSR isn’t it.

I’m not the kind of person that would normally purchase anything from the store, that’s just not my thing, I’m not really bothered about what my character looks like, per se, but there’s not much to do in this game and I think even in the previous games there wasn’t a lot to do either, but there were things to work toward to maintain my interest and entertain me, and I think that’s where this game is failing.
As many people have said, what this game needs is a proper progression system and a way to upgrade your character, as all the previous games had. Go back to the Halo Reach system for unlocking armour. Allow me to unlock customizations in the campaign and the multiplayer. The store will always make money, create things for the store over and above all the regular customizations, people will spend money.

I have played enough Halo Infinite that I should be able to customize my character with a variety of armour pieces as I did in all previous Halos, the decision to remove all levelling up and virtually all unlocks from doing the campaign makes me think the campaign is neither here nor there, it was something that was expected, but if they could, they’d rather not have put resources into it.
The fact 343 hasn’t seen the writing on the wall or has no interest in the writing on the wall leads me to believe there was no intent on making Halo Infinite the blockbuster it used to be, it just needs to be okay, Microsoft will just buy up all the competition … you see where this is going. Just to clarify my last comment, I’m not against Microsoft, I have a PC, and I have several Macs, but my main driver is a Linux, hand the game over to the Linux community and the game would be fixed quickly. I don’t know who anyone is on this forum and no one knows me, but I know what I like and reading many posts I get the impression most people just want and expect a good product for the money, if I go see a sequel to a good movie, but I can tell right away it’s nothing more than a money grab, I am irritated I spent my money, and for the first time with Halo, that’s the way I feel. Halo is a franchise and like all franchises, it needs to be profitable, but there will be no profit if there is no quality. This is basic 101 business, you need a good product, or eventually, you’ll run out of people to con. And come on, this game needs a good multiplayer, co-op PVE section.

Currently ‘4’ main problems with Halo Infinite are,

  1. Networking Issues…

  2. Progression…

  3. Matchmaking…

  4. 343i…

I guess they won’t add collision until the net-code is fixed. Currently, vehicle collision in BTB is buggy, if they apply player collision, man, who knows what gonna happen …

Trying to play the event, get search times of 2-5 seconds and inly get US Servers. This is so ridiculous xD

ranked open works perfectly fine with 30 ms ping

Yeah I mean I can only do so many laps of the campaign map.

Desync obviously

On PC, particularly, the aim assist is just bad and stops works. Sometimes it’s downright unplayable.

BTB only has one good map, one decent map, one meh map, and one bad map. 3/4 BTB maps have no air vehicle spawns and none have heavy spawns.

  1. Lack of a progression system.
  2. Inability to search for multiplayer options. Aka only wanting to play a specific game mode in order to complete specific game mode challenges.
  3. Battle pass vs store.
  4. 343’s lack of communication and transparity
