Its like he rushed tanks really fast…he put up a turret in the back and built up a depot. I destroyed it once but was losing warthogs to that turret so tried to go gremlins. I had map control for a while because he wasn’t building a lot of warthogs at the beginning. I went from 19 to 32 in Trueskill by doing some amazing improvising and using some of the tips I learned on here. I tried to go gremlins, and my micro was sick but his tanks were ripping them apart. Should I had just attacked his turret, reinforced and won with warthogs? Or should I have like done more scouting? Or…
And for the first game on pith, he took an expansion and I saw it before he even built it and I tried to gunner it down with warthogs.
Didn’t work again…He got tanks super quick. Gremlins didn’t work because of tank numbers. Tried to mix air and gremlins but again, he thrashed it. What am I doing wrong?
On Pirth, you should have also taken an expansion immediately when the game started. You cannot stop a good player’s instant expansion with warthogs or delay their pads long enough for it to be worth it. Then go barracks second on your expansion and reactor 4th or 5th on your main base. Build a marine from the barracks and send it to the reactor hook next to you. That’s a lot cheaper than making three reactors which it looks like you did in that game. At that point, you can do a lot of different builds, but hornets and gremlins are a good place to start and should beat most UNSC players at your level. To do that, you would recycle the barracks for an air pad and make hornets from it as well as double pumping gremlins.
As for the game on Chasms, he made around 5,700 more resources than you. No matter how good your micro and unit composition is, if his income is that much better, you’re probably going to lose. Clear out your supply elevator early with warthogs and make a barracks to send a marine to it. A supply elevator gives you 300 extra resources per minute, so if he had both elevators that means he was getting 600 more resources per minute just from that.
Once you take that, tanks and gremlins or hornets and gremlins are a good choice. Since it looked like he went gauss that game, tanks/gremlins would have been the better option. There are other things I would suggest too, but those are the basics.
after the game-over, looks at the stat, that’s the key, plus, look at the Map after the game finish (don’t quit yet, you’ll see what buildin’ on his bases)! Plus, you have Skirmish to practices your skills! I really enjoy lookin’ at the Map after the game is over…so many diff. options!
Have a look at YouTube.com/bb2010halowars (sorry I can’t post a link because I’m on my iPhone) He is the guy who gave you the helpful tips in reply to you’re question. He is one of the best 1v1 anders still playing and if not the best. I learned from his videos and they got me from 25 to 36 TS alone. For you, they could be that helpful boost to get you to a low 40 or even higher. They sure helped me a lot.
in the beginning though, you could use your gremlins, but once you hit tier 3 tech, just build cobras. get 2 vehicle depots to double pump them, lock them down, and then use one depot to buy the armor upgrade for them
I would like to see anyone to win a high level player with double pumping cobras. Anders just does not have the supply income to do so. If she builds 2 x Vehicle Depot + 2 x Reactor (to get tech 3) she can only make 3 x Heavy Supply Pad.
This all means she generates about 825 resources per minute. It takes 792 resources per minute to SINGLE pump cobras.
If she builds a barracks instead of second reactor she may get extra 300 per minute on Blood Gulch and Blood River (assuming she can control her hooks). It does not help a lot (except the 500 cost of the second reactor). However cobras are slow units and it is difficult to control hooks with those.
So… I doubt whole concept. Prove me wrong and show some high level 1v1 game where double pumping cobras has won the game (forget the games which have turned to be turtling).

when you buy the 400 upgrade for cobras, you build one more vehicle depot to keep up cobra production. Once the 400 upgrade for cobras is finished, build 1 cobra, then sell it and turn it back into a supply pad.
and as I said earlier in my post, if you wish to start with scorpions, and gremlins, once you hit tier 3 you switch to cobra.
if you go tier 3, straight to cobra, you only have one vehicle depot, and you build 1 scorpion first, then rest cobra.

power turret tanks still easily rape a decent amount of cobras. You also got a carpet/cryo/mac and since cobras cant move they will get killed by leader powers very easily. But the most important reason why tanks are better is because they are way more mobile. The only time I would make cobras if im way behind or on a very small map like chasms/pirth or when im playing shaw lol

Of course cobras eat tanks… lol. That’s not what I was saying.
As I said, against anyone decent, you won’t be able to make a huge cobra army. And no, cobras don’t work on every map. Judging from the advice you give, I’m sure you don’t play good people on a regular basis (no offense). They’d stomp on that cobra strategy trust me.
power turret tanks are tier 4 tanks. by then the enemy cobras should have piercing shot. they still win the engagement.
and if the enemy leader uses their leader powers, you can just use your own right back at them… throw a disruption, or whatever.
cobras may not be that mobile, but if you park them outside of your enemy’s base, and shell it to death. it doesnt really matter how mobile they are then…
as for me playing people that are decent, I just quickmatch. I guess every UNSC I play against isnt decent.
