I’m happy that the old Bumper Jumper is making a return, but I really was excited when I saw the first version of the Halo 4 layout had the AA button on LT. I really don’t care about grenades unless I’m running from a player, and I was looking forward to actually being able to use Jetpack on Bumper Jumper. Also, unless Hardlight Shield is a toggle ability, a Bumper Jumper user won’t be able to turn while holding down the X button.
Just have both options in the game. There’s no reason not to just have-… Button customization, but that’s another issue. Why not just have both a Bumper Jumper the way it is in the current build in addition to the one from the E3 build?
I like the new Bumper Jumper, I use grenades more than I use AAs so it just made sense to me to have it on X.
A way to try and counter the Hardlight Shield issue is by using the “X Claw” hold, but that can be annoying so I see why you want it the other way around.
To have both seems too much though, but I completely agree with your idea on button customisation, a lot of PC games do give you the option.

Hahahaha if you liked grenade on x you’re bad at Halo. You were probably someone who used Armour lock aren’t you? That was a bug. Nobody even half decent would use that. You have no way of aiming the grenade because your thumb is off the right stick.
Tip: don’t be bad and use the shield. The whole point of bumper is it gives the people not interested in that -Yoink- an advantage. Just use a toggle ability and get better or use default.
That layout would make no sense at all. Just use default you’re obviously bad anyway.

Why not? I can jetpack on Bumper Jumper in Reach…
Bumper Jumper is the one I’m going to use.

I mean without “clawing,” which basically means the controls don’t work as well as they should and the player needs to compensate.

Why, because it adds one more analogue stick movement on the button selection screen that people had to scroll over to get to their own button layout? I liked the idea of the old E3 Bumper Jumper because it adds the versatility of being able to jump and aim and use an AA and aim. Clawing isn’t a reasonable work around, and now that I’ve seen a good controller layout with the AA button on LT, I still want to use it in the final game. This isn’t even an issue with disk or hard drive space. It’s literally reassigning buttons which can be done in seconds with console commands on a PC.
