What about the campaign???

I’m seeing WAY too many threads addressing assumptions about the multiplayer component of this game. It’s very disheartening when people seem to forget that Halo actually has a story and isn’t just about competition. Now, I am NOT saying that multiplayer isn’t important. I’ve been playing Halo since day one and multiplayer has been just as integral as the campaign; HOWEVER, I feel that there is the common mentality that multiplayer is the MAIN component of Halo. I personally would argue that campaign is the most important aspect being that without it, there wouldn’t be any context to the multiplayer in the first place. Halo isn’t a multiplayer only game.

Again, I’m not saying that concerns and criticisms in reference to Halo 5’s multiplayer are not warranted…I would just like to see more love for the campaign. You know…because THAT’S what the trailers are selling to us…just sayin’.

I agree. I just think there are more multiplayer threads because that’s mostly what we have seen. All of the campaign has been hidden behind hunt the truth and there are plenty of threads on that.

There’s not many campaign threads because there’s not a lot to talk about yet. We don’t know anything.

It’s when those start to pop up before launch that I’ll get grumpy though.

yeah I’m gonna have to stay off the internet until I finish campaign lol

There’s not much substantial to discuss plotwise atm that isn’t just wild speculation. It’s mostly just analyzing trailers.
I mean, Cortana being dead/alive is discussed to hell and back.

As is Locke’s goals and personality.

There’s been a fair amount of team discussion.

We know how many missions now, as well as its going to be split.

Discussion also gets split between here and the universe forum.

Which is it? First you say that they are equally important, but then you say that Campaign is the more important aspect.

Also, why does multiplayer need context? It doesn’t. It’s just a mode that lets you battle against other real players in a competitive manner. I’m aware that there is now a somewhat canon aspect to how it’s treated, but it certainly doesn’t change the purpose of multiplayer. Multiplayer is multiplayer and doesn’t actually need to relate to any story.

Because Halo would lose a lot of its charm if it was originally just a multiplayer game without a campaign. And would you be so tempted to play a multiplayer game featuring supersoldiers in pastel-coloured armour with weird-looking weapons without any context at all? I think both campaign and multiplayer are as equally important.

When it comes to the campaign the Hunt the Truth and trailers are setting up for something causing a bleak outcome. I feel like there should be more going on but it looks like it could be as simple as the Warden Eternal is playing Master Chief and there is going to be a lot of causalities because of it. Also Locke’s just there to be a foil and not really progress things on his own.

Well, it is.

Multiplayer, as always, is where the overwhelming majority of total hours played will be, multiplayer will be where money from micro transactions will come from & multiplayer is where some of that money will eventally end up in the form of DLC.

Some of us may care more about one or the other, but MP has been the main portion of the game ever since H2 put Xbox live on the map.
