What about spartan bots for arena multiplayer?

So now that we have programmed spartan AI in campaign. Why haven’t bots been implemented into arena multiplayer to practice on, or just destroy for the fun of it? And I’m not talking about the enemies in warzone. I’m talking about OTHER SPARTANS just in bot AI form.

Edit: it seems there’s a bit of confusion in my words. I’m NOT asking to put bots in arena matchmaking. I’m merely suggesting an offline approach to playing against other Spartans for either practice or to have fun killing them.

I repeat. NOT IN ARENA MATCHMAKING.

This might help solve the problem of people bailing on games, we have two people bail in CTF which makes it impossible to win

I wasn’t really interested in having them in online multiplayer. Just custom games for practice or for fun. No way I’d let bots online with me.

The AI in campaign wouldn’t be suitable for MM. For MM, they would have to be programmed to navigate each map properly, and they can barely navigate in campaign. I have quite a few videos of me going down, and all 3 AI stand near me doing nothing because they don’t know how to jump on the ledge I am on. All the jumping they already do is probably more or less scripted, not them making smart decisions.

I have not played CoD in a while, but I think AI in multiplayer in a game like that is much easier to implement. From what I remember, they don’t really have to jump around to be effective. There are also no power weapons on the map to take into consideration. They basically run and gun, which might not work out in Halo. I definitely would not want an AI in place of a dropped teammate in Arena slayer. We are already at a disadvantage at that point, and this would just make things worse.

No. No. No. No. No. I’d rather have 2 empty spots than 2 free kills for enemy teams.

Actually a GREAT idea. This idea worked really well in GOW. When players left, at least there was another team mate that could do damage. I believe the AI bots in GOW were on insane difficulty too. So they were not easy kill most of the time.

Custom games would be fun for sure with bots.

I’m all in favor of having an AI practice team to play against

You guys aren’t really understanding what I mean. I’m not asking to put bots in matchmaking. I’m only suggesting offline, custom games practice. There’s no way I’d let a bot on my team in Halo.

That would be nice if they had bots, so if your internet is being really slow or is down you could still play.

I’ve been wanting bots in Halo since Halo 2/3 but I’d rather them just be in custom games and not Arena/MM. You would think with “the cloud” (and playing off the Drivatar idea of Forza) we could see Halo bots replicated that play like our friends/pros/random people that you could practice against in custom games.

They would need to take a page from unreal tournament bots because their current AI is -Yoinking!- sad.

I don’t think bots are the answer to this, but there should be something in place that stops the game if 2 people bail on the game right at the beginning. No in-game joining means if you’re not playing with a full fireteam, you run the risk of getting in an unbalanced match. I’ve actually been surprised how often I end up in a mismatched game due to people either quitting or getting disconnected, usually near the start of the match.
