The other day, i decided to check my rep, an in-game percentage rating based on the number of players that have submitted a review about you. My rep- not so good. the amount of negative reviews was ridiculous.
i am a fairly decent player, i dont swear at other players, and i dont quit games regularly. so, this situation was pretty shocking.
So, how often do players submit positive reviews, or do they only submit negative ones?
In my experience, players file negative reviews because that’s how you avoid playing with someone, and it’s far more likely you’re avoided than preferred.
It would be better to simply select: “Avoid Player”, then choose whether to file a rep-affecting review or not. I wouldn’t worry too much about it, because nothing can come of it and at the end of the day, it’s nothing but what others think of you, AND it’s probably not a fair representation anyway
Rep means jack all. I have over 70% people avoid me, and that’s all because some jerks back in CoD2 tried to get me banned, not realizing rep means nothing.
1. Rep says that the percentages are of “avoiders” versus “preferrers or people who did not submit a review”. This is a lie. People who do not submit reviews do not affect the percentages at all.
2. The five-star indicator of Rep is broken. It increases as you get reviewed – even if all of the reviews are negative.
3. The Rep system has no measurable or demonstrable effect on whether or not you will see a player in Matchmaking. “Avoiding” and “preferring” someone does nothing.
TL;DR: Rep is the MISSINGNO. of Xbox Live: that is, a completely broken hive of unfinished and poorly-implemented ideas. You need not worry about it.
I have -40 or 50 % for unsporting conduct, meanwhile I don’t even talk in Game Chat, makes me laugh.
Either way, if people want to avoid me, because I beat them, I am fine with it. As long as they choose the option ‘Too good at the game’, I’m fine with it.
