Guys there is this map called Infinity in Halo CE(Infinity), this one is pretty huge too. It took days to get across.
If they patch it up with the new skin texture and stuff man that would be amazing.
Also Death island is a good contender. People may not realise it but that one is pretty big as well. My fingers are crossed for either of these too.
Note: big maps are not only determined by the length and travel time, i’m pretty sure, that these 2 have one of the largest surfaces too battle upon. (Sandtrap is a big one too)
I hope it’s nothing from Halo CE or Halo 3. Halo 2 maps were the best. I’m personally hoping for Terminal; it would work quite well with Halo 4’s gameplay.

You played it on E3 right? It looks amazing, never played it yet. Only in my dreams. But on my end, i’m pretty pumped up.

Agreed.
CE maps were…good for what the game offered, but that’s it. Besides: already got CEA remakes.
H3 maps were just mediocre mostly with a few exceptions, but all are on 360 already so no need for remakes.
So then you’re left with H2. And hey, that game happens to have the best maps in the series. No bad maps there (except for the lag that killed Backwash), and quite a few big open air maps. Terminal, Headlong, Containment, Relic, Waterworks (cave doesn’t really count as indoors I think), Zanzibar and Burial Mounds.
None of which I would think of a shame to have remade. Although, I must admit, Terminal has my vote so far.

And also some of the worst in the series. Eveyone just conveniently “forgets” Foundation, Backwash, Burial Mounds, etc.
I always liked Infinity in Halo PC, but I think it is too sectioned-off to not play like garbage in Halo 4. Same goes with Death Island.
Danger Canyon would be cool if there were new routes.

Burial Mounds, Backwash, and Foundation were great. They were hardly the worst maps in the series either, especially considering what we had to deal with in Reach.

Foundation - basically created Halo Zombies… It was amazing for that and fantastic for multi-team and all the multiteam objective game types.
Backwash - Incredible FFA map. It would have been more successful if it didn’t suffer from framerate issues. It’s an overall good map though. Oddball and KOTH were awesome on Backwash.
Burial Mounds - Possibly the best Team Snipers map in Halo history. It’s only competition would probably be Relic.
If you want to talk bad Halo 2 maps I’ll go ahead and do you the favor of adding more to your list… Colossus, Elongation, Tombstone, Desolation, and Gemini are the only maps that aren’t really talked about and requested for remakes. Let’s talk about those maps…
Colossus - An amazing CTF map and it’s really really fun for SWAT and Snipers.
Elongation - An all around better version of Longest. It’s a good objective map.
Tombstone - IMO worst Halo 2 map. It just didn’t fit Halo 2 like Hang Em High did in Halo CE. None the less it’s still a really decent SWAT map.
Desolation - Great SWAT and FFA map. Was a good remake of Derelict.
Gemini - Best FFA dlc map in Halo 2. Great for one sided objectives.
Did you see something common about all of my comments for each of the maps? That would be that they are all really good for at least one gametype. IMO their is no such thing as a BAD Halo 2 map. They can be bad for certain gametypes but each Halo 2 map was at least GREAT for a gametype or two.

They were still pretty bad. Everyone seems to forget the maps that aren’t Headlong, Terminal, Coagulation, or Lockout.
