Just having guns, melee and grenades does not a Halo experience make. I can go into something like Roblox and make a Halo riff that has guns, melee and grenades, and it wouldn’t be a Halo game.
For myself, the Halo game I like the most is Halo 3. So, when a new Halo game comes out, I compare it to 3, and this game is not enough like 3 for me to like it. I do this because 3 was the clear pinnacle of the franchise and is probably the most successful Halo game (sticking around in the Top Ten against the three of the best Call of Duty games of all time). This is like why some people who play Souls games don’t like Bloodborne. They like Sword and Board. Bloodborne actively calls people who like Sword and Board chumps.
So they go back to Dark Souls because it provides the experience they want. They want to be a big, tanky fellow with a Greatshield and sword four times his size and weight.
Because for the vast majority of people playing Halo games, they don’t like it when they clamber and then die 5 seconds later. The core may be good, but the outside sucks.
You’re not really providing an argument as to why they’re evolutions. You’re basically doing that Cryptobro thing of “Crypto is the future! Why? Well, you just don’t understand Crypto!”
Because MCC launched on PC with a horrendous launch which soured a lot of grapes, and it’s a console-based shooter. It was also a legendarily bad console launch. Halo CE was revolutionary when it came out on Xbox. It got a resounding “Meh” on PC because it wasn’t anything special compared to the other games around it.
CS:GO isn’t like anything else on the market, plus it comes from a position of pedigree on PC. Halo doesn’t have the same advantage, least of all after the dilution of the previous decade+ of Halo’s formula.
Battlefront 2, battlefield 4 had bad launches and are regarded as one of the best games in our generation. Your argument about bad launches affecting the game longevity and revenant is pointless.
Imagine ignoring the other problems listed that are a majority of the problems people complain about. Really revealing the quality of your arguments right now.
Battlefront 2 had its support axed, and Battlefield 4 made a comeback due to pedigree and uniqueness of experience, amongst other factors. Also, people went back to 3 until 4 was fixed. Halo MCC was broken for 5 years on Console, and it still launched poorly on PC, such that a large number of people did swear it off. PC players don’t screw around when it comes to their launches.
You came out the gate with this comment. Why would I take anything you say seriously. You had no argument. At least others brought out their argument. Next
Yeah if most people do not prefer the gameplay “evolutions” of Halo 5…those “evolutions” turned into problems. That’s how public opinion works. You not viewing these issues as problems are for you to explain to others and someday understand that most others will not agree with you.
Well, there’s also the bugs and issues. I saw on Reddit that there was a guy who was playing, totally normally, and then made the mistake of clambering the hardlight bridge on Catalyst.
Dead in five seconds after running across the bridge.
