What about Fireteam Osiris?

Does Spartan Locke have any redemption on being important? Could he do something that can make him memorable as a character in the series?

Does Spartan Vale count as someone now? Or even Tanaka?

Does Spartan Buck have a bigger role in the story now?

Or are they all just for the spec ops missions and then gone just like the team in Halo 4 Spartan ops.

Fireteam Osiris still exists, minus Buck because he went back to command Alpha Nine. As of the events of Bad Blood, Locke, Tanaka, and Vale are all aboard the UNSC Infinity, having been extracted from Sanghelios. What the future holds for the team is unknown. Halo Infinite has been described as a Chief-centric story, so while this does not exclude the possibility of Osiris showing up in the game, it likely means they will not be featured nearly as prominently as they were in Halo 5. For the individual characters, their worth is up to you. If you find them to be entirely worthless and uncompelling now, I doubt there is anything that could realistically change your mind.

Buck’s role in the story will probably be reduced, given that he was removed from Fireteam Osiris to reform Alpha Nine. However, also as of Bad Blood, he is back on Infinity, having been wed to Veronica Dare. Whether or not he’ll continue to lead Alpha Nine or rejoin Osiris is unknown.

Do want more Nathan Fillion in my Halo. But I’m not planning on finishing Halo 5 campaign after the first mission. I’ll take Frankie’s word for it when he posted on Resetera that Halo Infinite is a good starting point for new players. Throw me into a conflict, I’ll imagine the previous events from what they give me.

I’d like for them to be around and legitamately think they can be salvaged. But I think it’s more likely they’ll be around more in the expanded universe. While not ideal for me, I’d prefer people who want to put in the effort be given the chance to do so.

Sure beats killing them off as some self-proclaimed lovers of Halo’s story suggest here and elsewhere.

  • There’s certainly time to give Locke a bigger role, but it looks like H6 will be more Chief-centric, so he may just get relegated to a background role - Vale and Tanaka have amazing backstories that really didn’t get much love in H5. Hopefully, if they are still around in H6, their backstories will actually affect their character development - Buck may not be in Infinite, given the new information from Bad Blood, but there’s definitely some potential for a spiritual successor to ODST that surrounds Alpha-9 and their exploits against the Created

All of those Spartans have cool backstories and talents. It’s unfortunate that Halo 5 didn’t have a halfway decent writer to capture players’ attentions though. I think there’s a lot to love about these guys and the books do them a lot of justice. I hope to see them in Infinite, but definitely not more than Chief. I’d be happy to see them work alongside him or something similar though. But, again, I definitely want a Chief-centric story like it’s said to be.

I expect fireteam Osiris to not be Infinite and only be in the books and comics just like Thorne. Or they are in Infinite they get killed in a stupid way like jul ‘mdeme and the didact.

They’ll probably just go back to doing their usual missions that don’t involve MC.

If they are going to be in Infinite, I hope they are just AI controlled characters. I did not like Fireteam Osiris; I’m not saying that the return of Buck was bad, I just didn’t like how that you played as them for 97% of the game.

Infinite is going to be a Chief-centric story,so I doubt they’ll have a big role.
I’d like to play as them again in a future installment tho.

They’re still around, and the stories of the members are and can continue. I would like for them to have a minor role in Halo: Infinite as opposed to a major one, or no role at all, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want to see more from the characters. Maybe just not in the next Halo game.

I hope that at least Locke comes back, I really liked him after all.

I think that they have potential, but not enough to warrant having them in the spotlight again. Of course, we already know that the Chief will be the focus once again, so there’s no need to worry about that. They just need to be fleshed out better, if we do see them.

Locke will become a support player. nothing more it’s all about the big man now.

I hope they get used in spartan ops to give the fans more in-depth knowledge about them or to make the characters more interesting. Maybe have them doing cool missions like the air mission in new alexandria in Reach. Maybe water mission, space mission and stealth mission?

They still have to be in halo infinite, 343 cannot leave them after their story from halo 5, they need to feel more of a character and not always be together. They have to have good dialogue.

I’m hoping they are brought back but if not I hope 343 does not kill them off on some meaningless way, such as coming across thier corpses near a brute cheiftan, or if they are floating through the vacuum of space alongside other dead UNSC marines in that campaign trailer.

I don’t know why but it just rubs me the wrong way, especially since Team Osiris is currently the most diverse Spartan team in ethnicity and race and they do have fans. I even liked Osiris better than team majestic (except for Throne and Ray)

cheif even proudly acknowledged them as true Spartans in halo 5 banter and id hate for him and 343 industries go back on this statement. Yeah Halo 5 wasn’t their best portrayal but if you read the comic and listen to the banter, I think you’ll find yourself really liking them

I really like team Osiris’s backstories, diversity, unique skills, chemistry, and banter would love for them to live through infinite. I can see all four of them in future stories or games as a team or individuals. Halo Infinite can be cheif’s story and I’m ok if it only focuses on the chief…but would love to see Osris, blue team, and other sorta as get their stories too.

(apologies for any typos - it’s late and my family is on a highway back from vacation, and all I want to do is crawl i into bed and sleep)
