What About a Token System to Discourage Quitting

What if 343 set up a token system in MM to help discourage quitting. The way it would work is:

  • Everyone starts off with 3 tokens.- To play MM it cost 1 token.- If you complete a match (regardless if you win or lose), you earn a token back.- If you quit, you don’t earn a token. So now you are left with 2 tokens.- So 3 strikes and you are out until the tokens are reset at midnight
And if it was intergrated into the UI and players could see where they stood as far as how many tokens it may discourage quitters from leaving games.

Now some people may lag out of a game, which is why you have 3 tokens. If you lag out of 3 games in one day, then you should check your internet connection.

Also as a good faith measure maybe you can earn 2 tokens for playing 5 matches in a row without quitting. But you can only max out at 3 tokens total per a day.

Just a thought.

I quit only in BTB. It’s my all time favorite playlist in Halo, but I do not want to play Halo 4. I never liked Halo 4, so I quit.

So respectfully, I would not like your idea. Let’s be honest, most people bought MCC for CE, 2, and 3. Give 4 it’s own playlist, take it out of the rest, and I’d never quit again.

Most people bought this game under the impression that each game would have it’s own set of playlists, not have everything mashed together in the gangbang we call these playlists.

That’s a terrible idea. How about 343 add rankings to every playlist and fix connection issues, then I can garauntee you won’t see as many quitters.

Or just add JIP. That way when players leave or get disconnected, others can join that are waiting in the lobby. Just like the JIP in H4.

Ranking and fixing connection issues would help, as would connection times. I see a lot of players idle once the game starts. They can go a long toward fixing quitting in BTB by adding a big team objective playlist. People hunting for flag and assault games are TIRED of playing big team slayer on H4 maps and I’m sure big team slayer fans cringe when they see flag or assault

Keeping in mind this would be for after all the issues are worked out. Not right now when there are too many factors contributing to quitting.

Just track if they quit a lot and put them in a play list with other quitting players and let the guys that don’t play together

The token idea isn’t very good. What happens when all players are kicked? I would say to just implement the same punishment system for quitting that Halo 3 had, but I doubt 343i would implement it correctly.

i do the same when CE is voted. I love CE but that pistol is so broken and those terrible spawns. Still its very rare i quit though
Halo 4 has the best BTB by far though

Hey that’d be great. Hopefully that happens!

In the meantime, I would hate to be punished for quitting because 343 won’t let me play the particular Halo game and mode I’d like to play online.
