Imagine it, there could be 2 bases, like a covenant carrier and a UNSC Fregatte. You would fly around in Longswords, seraphs, sabres etc and try to get into the enemy base to blow up their reactor or something. It could be round based (one attacks, the other one defends) or just ‘normal’. That of course requires a huge amount of players, because some would attack, while the others would defend.
What’s your opinion?
It sounds alot like the space battles in Star Wars Battlefront 2.
While it would be a nice addition, I think that, from 343’s perspective, it would be a bit like working on two multiplayer games simultaneously. The difference in genre (first-person shooter versus flight simulator) would be a bit difficult for them to maintain, as it would require two sets of game mechanics.
I can see this being a great idea. If we have a space canvas with a bunch of very large Forge blocks, it could actually be possible to build huge bases for things like Space CTF and even Space Infection.

The Sabre and Seraph sequence in Reach’s “Long Night of Solace” actually used the same game engine as the more normal parts of the Campaign.
Using a glitch, you could hijack a Seraph while still on the beach; its controls there were exactly identical to the Sabre controls in space. The fancy movement controls on the space fighters were unique to the vehicles, but implemented using the Halo engine.

It would depend whether or not the mechanics were already in place from Campaign. Otherwise I can’t see the value in adding a new mechanics for one playlist.
Syllipsis is 100% correct in what he said, and I would like to add that the time in developing something like this could be better spent doing an excellent job of what previous Halo’s have been doing in the FPS market.
