What a train wreck. Halo 4 is a complete fail

anyone else totally let down???

I thought I would sell halo reach after playing halo 4 but no. My high expectations are out the window and I have never felt more disappointed for a video game in my entire life. I bought the limited edition and stood in a long line for a regular copy so we could do system link. After spending the entire day talking about it and playing with friends I went to bed thinking of how excited I was looking forward to the game the whole year. Maybe this is a sign that I just need to give up gaming all together.

  1. The biggestet disappointment - The weapons. I have a few halo friends who just aren’t that great at shooting. In previous halo games their best bet against me is a heavy weapon or sneaking up behind me. Even if they get first shot chances are they’re still going down first. In this game they can pick up a DMR and finish me off in a matter of seconds. Same with the needler! It took precise shooting and skill in Reach. This game feels like the designers overpowered everything so casual gamers could get a kill. The promethean technology looked cool in reviews but it doesn’t fit for halo. Feels a bit too futuristic and silly.

  2. The Spartan suit - these don’t even feel like the same spartain suits from any previous game. They’re all way too cyborg looking. Even their movements don’t look very human. The helemts are too angular and roboting looking. You take a previous helmet and it looks like it’s been put through a trash compacter. I don’t feel like I’m playing a real halo sequel. I feel like I’m playing playing a spin-off called Halo 2099.

  3. Shields - I hate having no life bar under the shields. I liked seeing how much life I had. Now when your shields drop so quickly you have to run for cover all the time. Having a secondary shield you can carry around is pointless. Once it fades you’re a goner.

  4. Dying - The desintagrating just isn’t as satisfying as it looked on gameplay videos and reviews. I would much rather see their bodies fall in a clumsy awkward position. I guess one cool thing about it is you can’t get tea bagged.

  5. The Didact - (sigh) Who designed him? A vampire fan? He looks ridiculous. Everything from his eyes, fangs and haircut. Major facepalm there. I have to look away from the screen when I see him because he looks stupid. And him using the star wars force is a bit cheap. All this floating force technology is even more dumb and unrealistic in a combat evolved game.

  6. End level switches - My friend and i kept joking saying: “I’ll race you to the switch!” All of the things changed in halo that upset me, this one was left alone. Pressing a switch at the end of every level is as pointless as ever. They were in all previous halo games. You would think by now they would have thought of something creative to make your journey through that level memorable and worth while but nope. Bet you guys just can’t wait to press that switch! I don’t wan to sacrifice the story. But pressing a switch at the end of every is so empty and boring now.

  7. The controls. - Why must we change the controls everytime? And pushing in the left thumb stick to run was horrible so I changed it to recon. Now I have to press X to run and B to punch :frowning: Can’t you just let us customize it? Simply put, I hate every button layout setting. Thanks guys for not creating a button layout to match what I’ve gotten use to in halo REACH.

  8. Menu Setting & Options - How uninteresting. this was the first thing that bugged me and probaby the second most disappointing thing. What a boring layout. No Halo reach didn’t have the most amazing backdrop for their title but it was a lot better than halo 4. Also the background changed during the settings. You got to press right and see all your friends listed as well as your armor. Everytihng was easy and nicely designed in reach. In halo 4 it’s just not as cool. The matchmaking screen is not at all interesting. Cusomizations are not as interesting. Heck we can’t even view the unlocked stuff to give us the incentive to keep playing. I want to see them and can’t.

  9. And here is what killed the game for me. War Games. I think you will figure this out on your own.

halo 1 got me hooked, I lost interest after playing 2 and 3. Reach revived the love. I had high expectations of halo 4 adding more to the table but it killed the series for me. Maybe I will go back and play reach but I’m pretty disappointed at this point I don’t want anything to do with Halo right now.
Best Halo games: 1 and Reach
Worst Halo games: 2, 3, 4

Troll.

Worst Halo games 2 and 3 tell me your trolling right?
And I’ve always wanted to say this so Go Back To Reach if you don’t like it.

You just sound like you’re not very good at Halo.

Okay, First of all, there’s something wrong if you think the second and third games are bad.

Secondly, I wasn’t let down with this game, I Never expected a Halo 3.2 or Halo reach 2.0 Or what have you, I was expecting the start of a new beginning, that’s exactly what I got.

I disagree with everything you just said and I dislike you with a great intensity.

didact was sik get out here n join the trolls on metacritic

  1. You realize that they are killing you because they are starting on the same level as you right? Not because of the weapons. Also you sound SUPER arrogant saying the only way they can kill you is with power weapons and sneak killings.

  2. While I agree that a that something is REALLY off about the multiplayer Spartans look, you have to remember. They are Spartan IVs. So they will look smaller. As for the armor. I personally think they all look like rejected Eva suit designs. BUT! Once you play the campaign, you realize that they were going for a Forerunner feel.

  3. Sorry man. If you are a true halo vet or fan, having JUST the shield shouldn’t phase you.

  4. This just comes off as LOOKING for something to complain about.

  5. Read the books and you will realize that the Forerunners weren’t that dissimilar from humans in appearances. Also, find some terminals and watch them. The Didact doesn’t look like that in the terminal videos.

  6. This one I can agree with. Having to press X just to watch Chief press a button does suck. Any of the event animations associated with pressing X to activate something is annoying.

  7. I disagree. The Call of Duty control style is a welcomed addition in my opinion. I admit it isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. But I love it.

  8. Again this is just opinion. I didn’t care fore Reach’s menus at first. But I got over it.

  9. War Games is just plain awesome. It takes the best of both Halo and CoD and melds them so well that I think CoD will have a hard time topping it.

Also, if you are a big fan of Halo: CE. Try ODST. That one is the closest to CE in my opinion.

starting out at the same level? What you mean? Sorry my halo regular copy had no instruction booklet inside. So when you level up you can withstand more bullets or? Because we were killing each other with a needler and dmr a bit too quickly.

As for the rest of the comments saying I’m a troll. I guess I am a troll for having a difference of opinion. At least I have a detailed reason. Not just flame it sucked.

Hard to take serious when your complaints include lore things like “the spartan suits look different”. Boo.

Stopped taking you serious when you called H2 one of the worst Halos…

Warning this OP has a high amount of Ego, I suggest a day away from any electronics and Smooth jazz treatments with a nice cold drink.

You may not like H4 but not only are some of your reasons silly you clearly also don’t know what a video game train wreck is…

Haze, Hour of Victory, Sniper Ghost Warrior to name a few lol

All the games are good. Yeah they have their flaws, but they all had something different.

The weapons for me aren’t the problem. The ordanance drops which mean the map becomes flooded with power weapons is an issue for me though.

> starting out at the same level? What you mean? Sorry my halo regular copy had no instruction booklet inside. So when you level up you can withstand more bullets or?

LOL
" Sorry my halo regular copy had no instruction booklet inside" the quote of the day

my friend made a similar comment to this when he opened up his regular copy, and joked about it

Lol This guy is awesome.

> The weapons for me aren’t the problem. The ordanance drops which mean the map becomes flooded with power weapons is an issue for me though.

Slayer Pro says hello.

I personally think Halo 2 was the best, along with 3. REACH doesn’t even compare to Halo 2-3, I thought REACH actually took the true Halo feel away…

343 made Infinity Slayer that way, so that people with experience or no experience can pick it up and play it straight away. i mean, who in their right mind, would play the 4th game in a series without playing the others.

also, if you find that your friends are owning you with a DMR/BR then you should consider doing some target practice.
