After playing Halo 4 for 10 days I have came to the painful conclusion that Im so bored with it I spend more time staring at the playlists then actually playing the damn game. I play a couple matches then switch to minecraft or just not play any games at all cause of how disheartened i am.

The glory days of halo are forever gone sadly. I have many fond memories of h1/h2/h3 that I will never forget. Halo 4 has way too many issues that i seriously doubt 343i will fix. Its basically call of duty set in the halo universe.

Well hopefully bungies new mmofps game will cure my aching for a real fps competitve shooter. Change is good but not necessary. Halo is successful as a competitive arena shooter…not as a casual family everybody wins -Yoink–fest.

And yes im one of those extreme level 50 crap on noobs type of halo player. But i wanted 343 to succeed as much as everybody else. I miss the days when i could wake up at 3 am and find plenty of custom games to play on my friends list. Zombies, tower of power, cat and mouse, troy, cops and robbers…sometimes i wish i could go back in time just to relive the days of halo 2. I always had people to play with. Nowadays my friends list is dead. Nobody plays customs anymore. It sucks man.

Didn’t you post a thread exactly like this like 2 days ago? Or was I dreaming?

I’m truly you can’t enjoy what a great game halo 4 is. As i enjoy it so much.

> Didn’t you post a thread exactly like this like 2 days ago? Or was I dreaming?

The other one was more of a angry rant. This one is my sadness pouring out

I’m personally not playing as much as the first few days purely because the majority of my friend’s list has now moved over to Black Ops 2, the game plays a lot better when you’re playing with people you know as you generally work a lot better than when with randoms, it also doesn’t help with the xbox live party system nowadays either as if you go to play on your own you either get people with no mic or people in parties, the game has become extreme unsociable due to this, and considering how teamwork is quite prevalent in this game it does make it feel like it’s going stale quicker.

After how Reach seemed to ‘fail’ quite quickly after it’s release I find it silly that the release date for Halo 4 was brought to be so close to Black Ops 2, even more so with there being problems being addressed so quickly, it didn’t give the game enough time to show it could be potentially a lot better than CoD.

Only time will tell with how Halo 4 will do with it’s future, if 343i start showing they’re listening to their community, even with the occasional post it will restore some form of hope from the playerbase as it shows we are being heard. They may have made their first full installation into the Halo universe with Halo:CEA, but that was a re-release of the first game, this is your first step 343i with Halo 4, silence really isn’t helping the situation currently. I also understand that these forums can be fast moving at times and that makes it hard to reply to each thread, but to make it easier why not look at the more popular threads as they’re going to be the ones where more ideas are going to be shared, put your responses there and see how the community responds and keep at that, maybe then Halo 4 will get as good as it should be.

The only person who could get more angry at 343 than the customs community is one that I never knew existed…the xXxPr05h0tZxXxMLG custom gamer.

i’d neg you without end if I could. Sorry, but I have no sympathy for sad yoinks who go around repeatadly forcing their negitivity onto other players. Get a -Yoinking!- life if you don’t like the game.

MMO games fall harder and faster then any another style. WoW is just one of a few very lucky ones out there.

I know your feels OP. The true Halo fans were hoping for a fun and balanced yet competitive new instillation in the Halo series with this new trilogy coming out. We were hoping for the BR to return, playlists like team doubles and team snipers, some of the guns that were changed in Reach to return to the way they worked best in the Halo’s before it (sniper rifle, magnum, shotty), a fix to that horrid cR system Reach had implemented and instead return of the Truskill 1-50 system, a solid campaign that would be challenging yet enjoyable, and overall a good multiplayer experience.

What’d we get? A game that feels far too much like a Call of Duty space spin-off rather than a rebirth and breath of fresh air into the Haloverse after the sad excuse that was Reach.

Snipers still have that odd weight and pea sized reticle with bloom, the magnum feels next to useless, vehicles in both control and design are awkward for the most part and lack maneuverability they once had, we have yet again armor abilities to make gameplay easier for newcomers, sprint to make things easier on newcomers, heavy spartans that can barely jump or strafe at decent height and speed which again makes for faster kills and faster gameplay to keep kids interested, removal of unique and interesting hiding spots / jump spots, a ranking system that is still essentially the cR system and rewards players by who plays non stop rather than who is actually skilled, allowing even some of the worst players who’ve never touched a Halo game to be far ahead of much better Halo vets, REMOVED WEAPONS FROM SET SPAWNS ON THE MAP, added ordinance drops…I’ll stop there.

The whole game feels like they took Halo and dumbed it down so that it’d play more like a COD style generic shooter so that they could expand their market pulling in more casual gamers and young kids and reward online gaming addiction over player skill so that they could force their game to have longevity by having ranks keep going and going with little BS armor unlocks along the path so you feel like you’ve done something.

This game without a doubt will die down just as Reach did, nobody wants a damn COD style ranking system or that mess of a cR system Reach used, what everyone was hoping for was good old Halo we all loved. Weapons on the map with timers for respawns along with well designed maps that flowed nicely and had choke points and common combat zones so that strategies can be implemented, teamwork can be utilized, some new gametypes mixed in with classic favorites, the 1-50 Truskill system so your rank actually means something rather than putting more hours in than someone else, forget it I’m cutting that off right here its too early in the morning for me to be pretending 343 understood the Halo community even for a moment.

Best way to look at Halo 4 compared to Halo’s before it is this: Look at Cortona as a representation of the Halo universe we’ve all grown to love over the years under Bungie’s care. When 343 took over and Bungie put Cortona in their hands, 343 responded by having us witness the death of Cortona.

TLDR; Bungie took great care of Cortona and Chief (the Halo universe being Cortona and the Halo Community being Chief), and when they trusted 343 with holding onto Cortona and Chief for them, we trusted 343 because we trusted Bungie but 343 ultimately has killed Cortona (The Halo universe) and left Chief (the community) for the most part feeling alone and empty inside, looking back on the past fondly while knowing the future will contain no foreseeable good.

Everyone is too sober. Smoke some high quality Cannabis then play it, you’ll s**t your pants and your brain will melt out of your ears into your cats mouth

That’s the problem, just about any fan of Halo whose been in it from the start basically has to be on drugs to see this as a “great game”. Wouldn’t doubt somewhere out there a hardcore halo-junkie is sitting on his couch with a buddy polishing off a bottle of whiskey with his collector’s edition Master Chief helmet resting on the coffee table as him and his buddy pour a little out in remembrance of their favorite series.

Drugs. Best way to agree with newcomers and 343 on Halo 4 being a great game. You heard it here first.

Microsoft is even offering MS points for putting in longs hours of play…sad…

wow. just -Yoinking!- wow. I have not seen this many hyperboles in a single thread in a long, long time. It needs to be closed.

Game is fine. I spent like 4 hours playing with friends tonight and didn’t get bored once, find some people to play with and get a mic.

Really bored of seeing the self branded “True HALO fans” claiming that 343i have failed with HALO 4 and therefore making out that all other HALO 4 fans are not “Elite” enough to call themselves fans

You dont like the game, no problem thats your right, plenty of other games to play, so what you do is, play something else, voice your dissatisfaction once in the forums and them move on

Repeating yourself using different “emotional outpourings” to justify spamming multiple threads is redundant and obvious trolling. You dont like it, you are bored with it…we get it, we dont care but we get it…just move on and do something else

If you power play anything for ten days you will get feelings of complacency. This is clearly the case with you if you are already a SR50 in ten days, or maybe you are a Double XP -Yoink!- and boosted your way up there missing out on the fun of obtaining that level from legit play, trying out all the different game modes, playing Spartan Ops with friends and just enjoying the game

Either way, those loving HALO 4 outnumber the moaning few, so if you think you are True HALO Fans, well then hope off back to the old guard saftey of the Bungie Games and pretend that HALO 4 never existed

I’m chinese, and starting to feel jealous of yo wall.

Btw, cool. I’m still having tons of fun.

In some ways I agree with you. While I do find Halo 4 a great game, I miss the old Halo 3 custom games. I could just get on at any time and find some new and entertaining game to play. There was always a new zombie map/game variant, or games like Monster Jam. I loved Halo 3 and I am always wanting to go back in time so I could just go back to those days. I have so many amazing memories…so many great friends I met and continued to build friendship with, so many awesome moments where I had to go back to save the video or picture. I don’t know, I am just in love with Halo 3 and forever it will always be my favorite online game/shooter/halo. I would love to see Halo 4 get all of this back.
