What a Mess of a Community...

Yeah, you know what? You do have a right to be angry. That’s all fine ‘n dandy, you’re pissed? Wonderful, I can understand why. But for the love of god. STOP WITH ALL THE HATE POSTS. It’s fine if you want to vent out your frustrations once and awhile, but doing it all the friggin’ time and for some, taking it to the extreme and sending death threats and crap is just ridiculous. Grow up, be mature about the situation, stop being so damn entitled all the time.

343i has given MULTIPLE apology blogs and posts which shows they care…and here we have people constantly and suddenly turning away from them like the plague and calling them the “worst developer ever” as if they haven’t realized that they’ve made a huge mistake. Yeah ok then, let’s suddenly forget about Ubisoft because the MCC and 343i are the ONLY things in the gaming industry that you pay attention to right? I’d hope not. Because honestly, if the ONLY video game you play is Halo, I personally think you need to expand out your library a bit. Speaking of which, instead of constantly whining about the MCC, why not…oh, I don’t know, PLAY SOMETHING ELSE IN THE MEANTIME? Like geez man, I personally own about 10 Xbox One games and still own my 360 and it’s (while more than others) 100+ library of games I own. Do.Something.Else.

I’ve heard that the head of Xbox himself, Phil Spencer is actually pretty much at 343i 24/7 these days. Xbox and 343i CARE they are WORKING on it. 343i hasn’t personally let me down before, and in terms of huge screw ups, this is their first one. Halo CEA was amazing and worked fine, Halo 4 (in my opinion) was awesome and worked damn near perfectly at launch. This is FOUR games MP’s (technically 5 because there’s 2 different Halo 2’s) running on 1 dedicated sever farm. I don’t even think anything like this has been attempted before so there’s bound to be some snags big or small.

Now, am I fully defending 343i? No. They should have had an open beta for Halo the MCC available for free download on the Xbox One store back sometime around in August to test for things like this. Unfortunately, they didn’t do it, and are now paying the price. I think the only reason they’re doing a Halo 5 beta (one so early especially) is to test for things similar to this, and to see if people will truly like the new mechanics of the game (which I personally welcome and have thought that Spartans should have been able to do things like this since Halo 3 or even 4 because you know…you’re a super soldier…just throwin’ that out there) and to see what the people that didn’t like Halo 4 have to say about the new game. Also…one last thing before I conclude this, Halo 5 and Advanced Warfare were being developed at nearly the same time (Halo 5 just being shy of roughly a year later) it is pure COINCIDENCE that they have similar gameplay mechanics. Halo is Halo, COD is COD, stop saying Halo 5 is copying Advanced Warfare because that is logically impossible.

Now if you excuse me, I’m not going to be biased towards one franchise and enjoy Sunset Overdrive and Advanced Warfare (as I personally think it’s one of the better CoD’s) in the meantime as the MCC gets fixed. Don’t worry, when 343 release a TU which fixes multiplayer, the hate will eventually go and we should hopefully become a happy community again. Hopefully.

This is a big issue, but gamers nowadays are very entitled. 343i has owned up to what’s happening and are working hard to fix it. Let them work on it rather than being so rude. If you made a mistake, apologized, and were working to fix it would you like someone screaming at you about how much you suck? No. Calm down, play the games on your 360 like I am and relax. Fixes are coming. I believe 343i does care… Halo is their only franchise so if they value their jobs they will care lol… But seriously those that work at 343i are there because they live and breathe this series and I trust then to make it right.

Yeah the community yoinks me off too. If they don’t appreciate the game, then make the games themselves and see how they do

When I first came to waypoint, I was expecting a cradle of halo fandom and happiness. What I got was a community that uses things like metacritic user scores to judge games, population counts to justify opinionated arguments, scarce resources and overall backwardness. Ok, the last two aren’t really a thing but this is not a good community. It seems half the people on waypoint are here just to complain.

The halo community used to be such a great place to be. When you roll onto a multiplayer game it was never full of name calling or abusive people you get on other games. it was always full of players with mics who actually spoke about the game and how your team could win. I personally believe the halo community, or the new halo community, Is full of entitled gamers who started gaming in the era of free dlc’s along with the new Free games from both MS and PS who truly expect to be given things.
I wont pretend to know how video games design works, but Its obviously not as simple as a lot of people think it is on these forums.

Also the hate that 343i are getting for a few bugs is ridiculous. I cant tell you how many EA run server games I have played and had problems with online but the people behind those communities don’t seem to complain half as much. People forget that 343i are taking 4 games with extremely high detail and are condensing them into one game with 4 arguably separate multiplayer platforms and trying to make them run smoothly as one for us.
