since halo 4 is the start of a new trilogy, I think this is the perfect opportunity for 343i to start on a clean slate. What a halo game needs more than ever now is replay value. the campaigns of halo ce and halo 2 were amazing, and had infinite replay value. the halo 3 and halo 3 odst campaigns sucked, but still had replay value. halo reach sucked, and had absolutely no replay value. they hit rock bottom.
it would be great if halo 4 was made with a modified version of the halo 2 engine…of course there would be more gun sway, and the weapon motions would be improved, but halo 2 played super smoothly.
the setting of halo 4 is a lost planet, so most of the environments are probably going to be old, overgrown forerunner relics. i am excited for a new line of vehicles and weapons. since the covenant are gone, the plasma weapons, and the plasma grenade, are gone. i also hope they bring back dual wielding. its been a while since we have had the ability to dual wield.
one thing i hope 343 does is bring back the smg, more lethal, more intimidating. i hope they introduce a carbine, to replace the dmr, a semi- automatic, non bullpup rifle, with a fast fire rate
these are just some of the things that would bring halo 4 to its true halo name

Halo 4 is being built over a modified version of reaches engine
Here is what 343i should do: Do what they plan on doing.
Here is what the community should do: STOP TELLING 343I WHAT TO DO.
They are using a modified version of the Reach engine, which is a modified version of Halo 3 engine, which is a modified version of the Halo 2 engine.
We don’t know what is going on in Halo 4’s Story, so we can’t say anything solid. All we know is Chief is back with his AI girlfriend and they have at lest one warthog, and they’re some where in space. As for the Covenant, we don’t know, yes the Covenant is split up and broken, but there are the alien races who was members of the Covenant, and there are still Covenant weapons and tech floating around.

This.
Does anyone actually think 343i will listen to them? Maybe draw things from the mass of community ideas, but I highly doubt that anybody at 343i is sitting here saying, “Oh -Yoink-, this guy is completely right and we should ditch every effort of our 3 year struggle to make this game to appeal to one person.”
