… and by this, I mean quite ingenious. I don’t know if you’ve noticed but they’ve been timing their releases almost masterfully. I would almost be ready to say they’re marketing wizards with the way they’ve been seamlessly keeping the hype for Halo 4 at a maximum.
Let’s look at it this way.
1.) Halo 4 releases in approximately 11 days.
2.) Halo 4: FUD Finale releases in 7 days (now).
3.) Halo 4: Gameplay trailer premiered about 3 days ago.
4.) Halo 4: Launch trailer premiered about 7 days ago.
Along with continuous bulletins, convenient limited edition news and a completely new IRG (#evilawakens) 343 are successfully keeping Halo 4 in the hot news area of the internet. I don’t know about you… but I’m super pumped. They have seemed to plan ahead amazingly well. Even in FUD, the whole series is directly tied to Halo 4. With simple nods to the beginning of each episode to the entire story being a Lasky flashback. It’s not essentially designed to be a live-action series… it’s designed with Halo 4 hype in it’s mind.
They (343) seem to by tying everything together in some way or form. Whether that be Forward Unto Dawn and the Halo 4 release or how I think Halo 4 Spartan Ops is going to tie into Halo 5.
What are your thoughts on how 343 is dealing with the marketing? How hyped are you?
Oh I agree- they are doing great as a BUISNNESS/COMPANY- but just the way parts of that seem to bleed into gameplay/development choices concern me (clear adopting of CoD/BF esq mechanics.)
I think they’re doing a marvelous job, so much better than Bungie did with Reach…by the time Reach came out, we knew so much about it that it felt like I had already played it. In fact, I had…in the beta lol.
OT, I love it, especially this #evilawakens thing.

You forgot how they flopped on releasing Halo 4 before BLOPS 2. I would have released it after BLOPS came out. Now we are going to have a week of success and be kicked in the nuts once COD drops. If H4 would have waited it would have been the nut kicker not the receiver.

Actually it is always better to be at the market place first. That’s a Fact. Also has anyone else seen the pre order numbers recently? Halo is making a run at surpassing COD on the Xbox. I am hoping Halo can retake its rightful place at the top.

It’ll be fine. Thats really just “loadouts” and a few other things that really shouldn’t effect how much fun you have too much in the actual game.
The countdown in Reach is driving me nuts. Can’t wait 10 days!!!

It’s a lot more than just loadouts. Infinity slayers is completely different than any previous Halo’s slayer. But as long as there is a classic slayer playlist like they said, I’ll be happy.
I’m super hyped! I can no longer wait! New maps are just gorgeous!
Pre orders numbers are climbing to the top.
I’m not sure blops2 arrival will be that much of a flood to LIVE numbers compared to H4’s, if we look at it this way: we all have one full week to beat Campaign on Legendary. Then we’ll be playing our fingers and eyes off on Multiplayer.
Seems it will be a clash of titans to see which game prevails as the most played on LIVE. Hell bent over…I’m putting more than my quarter up! November 6th can’t come soon enough!
And as someone said, it’s better to be to the market first. This is proven fact over decades of retail.
Once one product is purchased (Halo 4) the odds of someone buying a similar product (in this case BOPS2 as another console FPS game) in a short time frame decrease.
343i and Microsoft have put their foot to the gas as far as marketing is concern… Gotta give them that… They have fumbled the football in some other areas, but not enough to cause much damage.
