Whaaat if....

Halo 4 took the new things about Reach like AA and loadouts and balanced them with a few additions, new maps, vehicles, and weapons?

That still would have been a new and interesting game, that also solved some problems from Reach. 343 could have been the team that saved Halo from the flaws of Reach, and still been touted as innovative for not going back to strictly classic gameplay. Evenmore they could have introduced all their new mechanics in a separate playlist from the regular Team Slayer, so people could have the option between a balanced Reach type experience, and their new Infinity Slayer. They even could have launched with a competitive playlist.

I believe this hypothetical Halo 4 would have much more sustaining appeal.

My question is, why? Why didn’t they do this? Were they rushed to release an unfinished game? Or did they really intend to force this new gameplay upon us, and if so to what end?

Because if I want to play Halo Reach I’ll play Halo Reach. Not a dressed up anniversary edition pretending to be a sequel. There is a reason MW3 is widely considered the worst CoD game you know.

They went for the draw of current FPS instead its a mistake a lot of companys have made trying to fallow COD to beat COD. We neglect the other series that have done this though because its finally hit home.

343 bascially put too much on there plate and belived they could succed with this path and they were dead wrong. They did great makeing AA’s actully good and stuff and require more skill and require more skills and tactics when using them but the perks and stuff just ruined it if they kept all that stuff out it wouldnt be getting hit as hard. I belive they can fix the game but fixes wont matter if the community dosent really give suggestions of how they want it to be fixed exactly. We have there attention in a way and we have the amount of people to get there attention and get sometihng going but no one wants to even come up with hard core suggestions not " ohh jsut copy halo 3 Derp" but like real suggestions for fixing what they have in now call it incomplete all you want its still a full fledge game and your not going to completely be rid of ordinance so you can either try your hardest to fix the game you supposedly loved so much or give up on it at the first sign of loss. ( not the poster in general but the Community)

Is that what you though of the transition between Halo 2 and 3?

Also CoD multiplayer has never deviated from it’s initial core mechanic. Call of duty 2 multiplayer had you picking from choices on the onset of the match, as does BlopsII, proving there are ways to innovate without deviating from the core mechanic, which in my opinion Halo 4 has done.

If I wanted a Generic Modern Shooter, I would of gone and playe the dozens already out there, but no that didn’t stop 343 from screwing up Halo’s Formula by removing fundamental aspects and replacing them with generic rubbish. Screw this so called “evolution” it’s a load of crap that is only harming Halo.

If you want a game based off of Halo 3 “you just want the same game”.
If you want a game based off of Halo Reach “you just the same game”.
If you want anything that isn’t based entirely off of CoD “you just want the same game”.

There’s no winning, is there? What’s even more depressing is those same people will be perfectly happy if Halo 5 turns out to be a copy of Halo 4, hypocrites.

But yes OP, what you described would be better than what Halo 4 is now.

I’m unsure about Halo 4, but I am loyal to Halo.
I will preorder Halo 5, and I will probably enjoy it, alot!

The only thing I would have changed was make H4 more of an arena shooter, got rid of all the weapons that were soley in Reach (DMR, Concussive shot, something else…)
And some other stuff wouldve been taken out by me, but I can’t speak for everyone, That wouldn’t be fair.
