WFF Strategy Guide for Urban

Hello all, a fellow Spartan (SpartanMcNugget) and I have been quietly working on developing sure-fire plans for winning what many of us have deemed near impossible. You will see this message in each thread along with a short “Quick Tips” section that contains comments that we found ourselves repeating in several of the variations of certain rounds. We would love to synthesize the despaired information from the forums into each of these threads so Spartans have a one-stop shop for quickly finding out how to beat some of these notorious rounds.
We are almost certainly missing a variation or two for each map, but more importantly, we may be missing a key strategy so please feel free to give us your thoughts or share your videos on how to be successful in Warzone Firefight.
Quick Tips
These apply to all rounds:

  • Extended mag loadout weapons are extremely helpful to any Spartan working on foot. You’ll often find yourself low or out of ammo and these weapons help to slow that problem. - Enemies drop weapons! Some of those weapons are pretty awesome! Splinter grenades and Suppressor are two items that can quickly turn the table on an overwhelming Promethean round. - The flow of Round 2 is always dictated by the REQ level you and your teammates are currently at. Most Round 2 strategies vary by this simply because some will have Level 3/4 REQs available while others only have Level 2. - When facing any round with vehicles you should equip weapons with kinetic bolts. These weapons work much better at whittling down health as you support your fellow Spartans. - Don’t forget that you can EMP vehicles!!! Plasma Pistols are low REQs and can quickly turn the tide in a fight against any vehicle. - In Rounds 4 and 5 find ways to avoid dying. This may sound obvious, but you can more quickly run from the fight, recover your shields, and return to the fight before you would respawn a mile away from the objective.Urban
    Round 1:

  • Defend the Garage – One person hide near REQ station on top floor; Kill AI as quickly as possible utilizing the suppressor, splinter grenade (throw at entrance or Knights), and splinter turret as much as possible. - Serpent Hunters (2) – Whittle away at the ground forces using human and plasma pistols. Move in and use AR and grenades to take down the hunters AS A GROUP. - Elite Ultras (2) at the central armory – Pistol and AR is your best friend initially. Avoid snipers, use cover. Pick up needler to supercombine the elite ultra. - Kill Elites (4) behind the central armory – One or two teammates should flank the elites while the rest of the team is attracting their focus. Stormrifles and plasma pistols take down their shields swiftly.Round2:

  • Hunter Devastators in the Garage – STRAT1 - Depending on REQ level, use plasma caster or shotguns from the roof of the Garage making sure to aim for the weak spot of the hunters. Utilize any grenades found from Round 1 to take chunks of health quickly. STRAT2 – Use Oni Warthog to decimate ground forces and work up to the second floor of the Garage. Teammates should distract the hunters for the Oni to be successful. - Knight Marshal (3) – Depending on REQ level, use Oni Warthogs or Ghost to whittle away at the ground forces. Remember that Ghosts can easily run over most Prometheans. Spartans on the ground should use BRs to shoot out weak spots from the knights. - Protect the Forerunner Core – Use Wasp and Warthogs to quickly get a grip on the ground forces then as your REQ levels increase use Plasma Casters (3) and Railguns (4) to destroy Knights. Splinter Turrets (3) work extremely well here as well. - Kill Prometheans (20) – Begin this round by focus firing on the Phaetons. Once they are down use Oni Warthogs or Ghost to whittle away at the ground forces. Remember that Ghosts can easily run over most Prometheans. Spartans on the ground should use BRs to shoot out weak spots from the knights.Round3:

  • Banshee Raiders – Begin round with Oni Warthog and destroy all of the purple banshees to drop the Banshee Raiders from the sky cap. Continue fighting them with the warthog while one or two others use banshees to destroy them one at a time (emphasis on one at a time). Ground troops should be using kinetic bolt weapons to support vehicles. - Eliminate the Ghost Marauders (6) – Positioning is key to using REQ weapons here. Spartans should use kinetic bolt ARs to work on a single Marauder at a time. Other Spartans can use Railguns or Hailstorm Needlers to target the Elite and quickly kill them without damaging the Temple Ghost. Plasma casters also work well here. If available, bring in a sword wraith (with wheelman equipped) - Eliminate all Prometheans (60) – Ghosts and Warthogs will quickly take out ground level Prometheans by running them over. Spartans should use BRs to support vehicles from a distance. Pick up any Splinter Turrets or Incineration Canons for quicker damage.Round4:

  • Destroy Prometheans (65) – Use vehicles to run over or quickly destroy ground forces then focus fire on the multiple phaetons. Clean up remaining ground forces after destroying all phaetons. - Eliminate the Four Commanders (4) – Spartans on the Ground should position smartly and user BRs or DMRs to work on weakspots. Splinter Turrets or Hydras work well from long distance to do quick, successive damage. Scorpions can be used to snipe from across the map. Banshees can also be used, but must be wisely flown to avoid being taken down by the multiple Knights. - Eliminate the Wraith Trio (3) – Spartan Lasers should be your go-to here for any Spartans not in a vehicle. Quickly take out the Banshees to ease the burden. Scorpions can be used for long range sniping and Banshees for coordinated sky attacks. The Wraiths shot trajectory is extremely good so be careful in any vehicle. - Kill Knights (15) – Tanks, and lots of them. If available, Phaetons.Round5:

  • Eliminate all bosses (4) – (2) Knight Champions – Attack from air and land using vehicles to spread fire. Avoid their River of Light cannons. (2) Mythic Warden Eternals – Utilize the same method to defeat the final two bosses - Eliminate all bosses (7) – (4) Soldier Enforcers – These Prometheans are located on top of the armory and can be quickly run over by Ghosts or Banshees. Tank fire will also quickly eliminate them. (3) Warden Eternals – DO NOT RUSH INTO THE BASE; Prometheans spawn outside and inside of the base and need to be taken out quickly. A swarm of tanks will do this with a quickness. Once the ground forces are decimated use tanks to snipe the two Wardens on each side of the Base. With luck, you’ll have enough time to move the Mythic Warden out into the path of the remaining tanks.
