WFF Strategy Guide for Apex 7

Apex 7
Round 1:

  • Kill Crawlers (80) – Use your pistol initially to headshot the crawlers for one-shot. Use Suppressors to quickly down any Promethean Soldiers. - Kill Covenant (80) – Immediately run into the Base to fill up your ammo and return to the beach to begin killing Covenant. Focus fire on the drops as you can kill many Covenant quickly as they land. Be wary of the Phantoms strong canon fire, which can take you down quickly. - Eliminate Soldier Commandos (2) – Each Soldier Commando is located in opposing corners of the Red Base. Several Prometheans will spawn in to accompany and protect the Commandos. Work your way towards one Commando as a group picking up Suppressors and Splinter Grenades as you go. Remember to place head shots on the Commando since he can be one-shot at a low percentage of health. After the first is down, grab his Splinter Turret and work your way to the second Commando to quickly finish the round. - Defend the Armory – This is pretty straight forward. There should be a Spartan trying to be inside or on top of the Armory at all times. Utilize the dropped weapons from downed Prometheans to better defend the armory. - Eliminate Hunter Duo (2) – Two hunters spawn on top of the West Armory (red side) along with Gold Elites on top and within the Armory. Two Spartans should flank to the rear of the Armory using the cave for protection and shoot at the weak spots of the Hunters. These two Spartans can also simply draw fire while the others fire at the Hunters from the Red Base caves.Round 2:

  • Kill Jackals (60) – If available, use a ghost to run over as many jackals as possible. Spawn killing them as they drop is the quickest way to rack up kills and works with most vehicles. Remember to avoid the phantoms as they can take you down very quickly. Grenading the groups as they drop is also an excellent way to maximize damage. Locations: ~30 will be located in front of the Spire between 5:00 and 3:00 (depends on how quickly you take out each wave); they will then spawn ~15 near East Armory (Blue Armory); finally, they will spawn back at the Spire. - Kill Soldiers (30) – Initially you will need to move out to the Spire and kill all present Prometheans. Remember that Prometheans are easily spawn killed by vehicles and they are quickly downed by their own weapons. - Eliminate the Banshee Raiders (2) – These will spawn above the Spire along with several Phantom drop ships and Ghosts. The ground troops can be extremely overwhelming here. Make sure you have your kinetic bolt weapons equipped here (two kinetic bolt ARs if only REQ Level 2). Try focusing on a single Banshee at a time with someone or two Spartans firing EMP shots to make firing on them easier. Warthogs are recommended here (regular or Oni) for helping ease the pain of this round. - Eliminate Knight Champions (2) – They will spawn in front of the Spire with a host of Prometheans to support them. Attacking from a distance is advisable here. If you can obtain Promethean Grenades and/or Suppressors then you can attack from the front of the Spire (if cleared) and quickly take down a Knight. You can then use the Incineration Canon from the downed Knight to finish off the other Knight. As a fun bonus, there are Beam Rifle Soldiers that spawn in. - Eliminate Ghost Scouts (2) – These two bosses will spawn in from Phantom drops in front of the Spire along with a host of additional ghosts for support. Kinetic bolt weapons are advised for quick dispensing of these two bosses. Needlers work very well here as long as you can land two supercombines on the elite piloting the Ghost.Round 3:

  • Defend the Spire – Immediately begin by destroying any visible Watchers. BRs are recommended for eliminating most crawlers quickly. Remember to pick up any Promethean weapons available (splinter grenades, Suppressor, Incineration Canon, etc.) as they can more quickly kill Prometheans. Ghosts and Oni Warthogs are very good here for quickly regaining control if it is lost at some point during the round. If available, Tanks or Banshees can be utilized to more quickly decimate Knights and Soldier Commandos. Remember that you do not have to be on top of the spire to stop the capture just inside the tunnel near the REQ station. - Destroy Ghosts (25) – This round is pretty straight-forward. Use any available vehicles to quickly destroy Ghosts. For Spartans without vehicles, remember to equip those kinetic bolt weapons. Three Spartans with kinetic bolt ARs can easily kill a single ghost quickly. Other helpful weapons here are Hydra Launchers and Railguns. Location: Blue Base Beach - Eliminate the Warden Eternal (2) – These appear behind the rock formation in the water between Blue Base and East Armory. Start with any vehicles left over from Round 2. Ghosts and Oni Warthogs should be used carefully due to the shear amount of Knights present with the two Wardens. If you are close enough to the downed Knights, pick up their Incineration Canons and use them on the Wardens. Wasps are also good here, but again, you have to be careful around the Knights and homing black holes of the Warden. Fuel Rod Canons work here as well as long as you have downed the Knights or can cover while using them. - Eliminate the Knight Duo (2) – They will spawn at the beach between Blue Base and the Supply Pad. Start with vehicles used from Round 2 and any high tier weapons obtained from downed enemies. The two Knights will have River of Light Incineration Canons that should be avoided. Long range combat is very effective here. Ground Spartans should use BRs to shoot weak spots on the Knights and take out supporting Prometheans. Ghosts and Warthogs/Rockethogs are helpful for spamming long range fire at the bosses. Plasma Casters are also very effective at long range damage for this round.Round 4:

  • Eliminate Soldier Commandos (4) – These bosses are spread across the map. Be careful not to engage in close combat as they bosses have one-shot kill power. As with most Prometheans, these can be easily run over by a Ghost or Banshee to quickly kill them. This objective can be considered a quick divide and conquer. - Kill Grunts (100) – Focus fire on the spawns as the Grunts drop from the ships. Pick up Fuel Rod Canons from downed Grunts to more quickly spawn kill large groups. Ghosts are also a good strategy to employ for killing groups quickly. Location: Beach behind Spire - Eliminate the Hunter Premiers (2) – These spawn at the beach behind the Spire. Although the Hunters here are not that strong, they spawn with a host of strong Covenant vehicles supporting them. Sniping with a Scorpion or Wraith Ultra works well here for doing quick damage, but be sure to avoid fire from the Covenant Wraith Ultras. You can either eliminate all of the supporting troops then the Hunters or vice versa just depending on how your fireteam feels. - Eliminate Phaeton Helsmen (2) – As a team you can spam a Phaeton with Spartan Lasers from a distance to quickly down one. Long range kinetic bolt weapons are also advised here. Banshees and Scorpions can also be very useful here in quickly downing a single Phaeton. - Destroy Banshees (20) – Oni Warthogs/Rockethogs/Gausshogs are very effective for this round. Spartan Lasers work well for bringing down Banshees quickly.

Round 5:

  • Kill all Covenant – Enemies spawn on the Red Base beach with a Covenant Phantom as the first boss accompanied by four banshees. Scorpions can quickly bring down the Phantom, but be cautious with the Banshees flying nearby. As the four Banshees are destroyed they will respawn in time. Once the Phantom is destroyed three Phantoms will spawn in to drop a single Mythic Temple Wraith. This is perhaps the easiest Mythic of them all. Concentrate fire immediately on the boss then sit back and enjoy your win.b. Eliminate all Bosses (3) – Decan Pipap – Although tanks seem like the obvious answer for downing a Round 5 boss, Pipap is another boss entirely. If you pull a tank, be sure to stay as far away as possible and be able to move to cover quickly. His homing attack can down a Spartan in a Scorpion very quickly. A fireteam loaded with Spartan Lasers is the answer here. Find cover near the beach (avoiding the ridiculous amount of Prometheans) and unload those lasers on him. EDIT: Two shots from a Spartan Laser can remove the shield covering the grunt pilot. This provides an opportunity for a quick headshot to down Decan Pipap in under a minute. Mythic Hunter Devastators (2) – These spawn in the caves behind the Spire along with a swarm of Prometheans. This is where tanks become very handy. Cover both sides of the caves with vehicles and unload on the two Hunters. Spartans on the ground can use The Answer (looking into the cave from the Spire) and do massive damage as the Hunters focus on Spartans at the ends of the cave.

Just had “Kill 30 Knights” for Round 3 which we failed. They were all spawning on the beach but no one used vehicles, just loadout weapons :frowning:

Thanks! Is there a particular strategy that you think would make this round easily beatable?

A couple of players should be at req 5 by round 3 so some Wraiths would have finished them off nicely. I was req 5 but didn’t die for ages and couldn’t get to a req station so didn’t get one myself.

This was incredibly helpful, thanks a million

Thank you for this!!!

You left off the protect the generator round where you have to cross half the map while they are being damaged in order to get into position to defend them.

Can you specify which round, location, and the best strategy in mind for winning?

Round 2 or 3 apex 7 near where the Elite ultra used to spawn. Had one of the generators go down before we made it from the spire.

I think it’s round 2. If you just finished round 1 near red base you have to travel past the armory, past the spire, under the rock bridge (on the left) and to the building near blue base. And the whole time you are doing that there are Prometheans spawning.

Like other rounds, having a vehicle splatter enemies helps a lot. It seems like the enemies mostly spawn toward blue base so planting yourself between them and the generator is a must.
