WFF One hit kill on everything

We just had a wave of normal level banshees whos bombs one hit destroyed all ONI level vehicles including tanks…

That sort of stuff can happen when you buff AI damage by a crazy amount to create artificial difficulty. I mean, look how fast the Banshee repeater cannons can kill you or take down a vehicle. The bomb is much stronger than that.

I just find this extremely excessive we lost round 3 of hunters because we could not use any vehicles due to one banshee bomb…

Yeah the damage boost is annoying as hell. It’s because they can’t really create AI that outplays us humans, so they have to do it by other means. Which means bullet sponging bosses, and extremely high damage weapons. It’s kinda boring if you ask me, which is why I prefer playing against people.

I’ve wasted many vehicles because of a one shot kill. Even the knights blasting you with an incineration canon from halfway across the map. ( that might be a slight exaggeration but they do seem to be able to shoot long distance.)

AI stats are just hella dumb right now.

Exactly this, they didn’t know how to make it interesting either due to time constraints or laziness so they just bumped up the difficulty and called it a day, oh I mean they made it “challenging” lol

It’s a shame, because it’s certainly possible to make challenging AI opponents. Gears of War does it really well with horde mode, the later rounds get very tough.

Exactly. 343 can’t program competent AI, they should just hire someone else to do it for them. I’ve been saying this for some time now, they should find the people who programmed the AI for F.E.A.R and hire them.

Yeah. The pilot controlling the vehicle honestly shouldn’t have any bearing on the damage. It’s stupid as hell.

Also dumb is the whole, Phaetons piloted by prometheans get to fire like eleventy rockets.

Let’s make enemies…

Shoot faster…
More accurate…
Hit harder…
AND shoot farther than the weapon is capable of…

Let’s turn tanks into paper?

Make enemies that alone can kill you in 3 seconds…
…chase you down in groups…

They are hellamarksmen.

I don’t even bother bringing out a banshee of any variant. It’s a waste of a banshee. Scorpions last a bit, wraiths seem hit or miss. I’ve been one-shotted in an ultra wraith and lived a while in a sword wraith. In general FF has already gotten stale for me. I’d rather get bored blasting through tons of normal AI than get bored shooting these bullet sponges. Shoot and hide, shoot and hide, shoot and hide, get ammo, shoot and hide, shoot and hide, promethean soldier killed…next soldier, shoot and hide…

Sorry to hear that, Johny. I’m pissed if I lose any ONI vehicle, regardless of -Yoink- AI buffing. Wraiths get fun to evade since their tracking is good, and they are a challenge if you don’t watch out, but otherwise it’s a long ranged spam fest and cover if you get locked on by their deadly aim and high damage with other vechicles or tough enemies.

And I agree with you Virtual, I loved gears of war horde modes because it’s a bit more than waves of enemies like halo firefights tend to be, it’s more of a survival that continues to get more and more difficult and desperate as you depend more on the defensive contructs, viable defensive positions, increased team coordination, etc. Halo’s firefight is more of a seek and destroy that becomes an arms race with your team and the AI. I’m very glad firefight was added however, and it is epic to have 8 players

To be fair, the Banshee Ultra is EXTREMELY useful in later rounds depending on what enemies spawn and where. You can solo Apex 7’s Prophet’s Wrath + it’s escort Banshees + the Tankmaster Wraith + it’s escort fairly easily with an Ultra if you know when your Banshee Bomb is ready, alternate between guns quickly, know how to evade, and boost away from combat when your shields pop. The Wraith is only an issue if you move predictably, the AI tends to fire where it THINKS you’re going to be when the mortar would be able to hit you, so if you fly spastic, you’ll be much safer. You can also two-shot most Ghost Jockey bosses with the Banshee Bomb, and Banshees seem to be the last thing the Warden would ever focus on, allowing you to do major DPS to him while your teammates in tanks and other ground vehicles distract him. You’ll have a hard time hitting the Warden if he’s in a Home Base though, so only use that tactic when he spawns outside (Skirmish at Darkstar comes to mind).

Also Attack on Sanctum, minus the Armsman Mantises, is a cakewalk in any kind of Banshee, if you’re careful.

Always take out enemy Banshees/Phaetons first, then any grounded AI trying to shoot you, then the boss. Whenever you have a Kill X Amount of Enemies, always Banshee Bomb the drop point under the Phantom or at the Promethean teleport. Splatters also work, but be very careful. It’s a risk/reward sort of thing.

On Urban last night, in the 2nd round we had to face the banshees in the sky. None of us were past 4 reqs. So basically we had nothing to take the banshees out with… No hydra, no laser, nothing that would heat seek onto the vehicles. So we ended up losing in the 2nd round without killing a single banshee. All we were doing was BRing them…

Not even a Wasp would have helped since the banshees melt you in like one shot.

Thats the first time i didnt make it to the final round. It was disappointing to say the least.

My problem with WZFF is that the difficulty was amped up the wrong way. All the enemies (except for the normal crawlers and grunts) are super bullet spongy and deal ULTRA MYTHIC LEGENDARY DIFFICULTY damage. To make it worse, an absolute -Yoink- ton of A.I. spawn each round, and sometimes they will spawn directly on top of you, which makes your death inevitable. The A.I. also have GOD level accuracy. You could be a billion light years away from an enemy wraith, but that wraith will still land the shot right on your face if you stay still or move in a straight line. Then there’s the ridiculous respawn timer. I want to play the game, not sit around staring at my REQs for 20 - 30 seconds.

Edit: Pardon me for this off topic post. Yea, the WZFF A.I. banshees are super OP. Their damage needs to be nerfed dramatically.

Damage boost is kinda dumb. Bet 343 doesn’t know how to make A.I.s smart.

Not sure if this works on banshees, but there’s a glitch where if you EMP an Ai controlled phaeton in FF and it lands upside down the solider will get out and the phaeton will explode. I believe this also works with ghost jockeys.

Yeah… it’s a complete toss up.
I’ve had them just about one shot decimate me before… and other times they just sorta float about and eat up all our bullets and die.
I find that a handy turret usually helps. so long as I have a means of hiding real quick when they zero in on me.
