I has recently occurred to me that in the Halo 5 mission Blue Team we see quite a few jackals that have been experimented on in a lab. The chambers they are in look really like the chambers we see in the videos and cut scenes of the stolen children getting made into Spartans.
I wondered if this was something the UNSC was doing, maybe to add flood resistance to new Spartans or maybe or have Jackals are Spartans. Or was it the boarding party on Argent Moon that were trying to create Spartan soldiers with the Jackals and if so will we fight flood infected, covvies in Halo 6?
They tried to create an virus that should only kill covenants and they tested it on Jackals.
This virus has nothing to do with the Flood.
Why should the UNSC create Covenant Spartans.

I don’t know why that’s why I was asking the question about what was going on on Argent Moon. I more thought they might be applying Spartan Augs to Jackals to test things so they never had to test on Human Spartans.

Probably not meant to be Covenant Spartans. It’s probably more like sleeper agents that there trying to create because if they can control factions of the Covenant then they can bring them down from within plus if they had a virus then they would need a way to get it there.
Very clever, guys. Have you considered the possibility of biogenetically improving Spartans with what profitable the Jackals or any other Covenant species could have, making Spartans even more transhuman and hopefully capable than they already are? Unlikely, as I suppose, but what reasons stand against it, if only the scientific comprehension allows? Because we are humans? Yes, the pride, but what about the war?

They were testing that biological weapon on other species to see its effects
Was it Flood based virus as looks like Flood in some of the tanks. You can see it if you go along pipes.
Is what happened on Argent Moon in any books?
