For one it seems that 343i answer for them not have devastating weapons is that they have weapons made to kill the flood. But they are still capable of killing shielded and armored targets. I really expected the Prometheans to be like boss battles. That would of made a lot more sense to the lore. Since the forerunners are so advance that Didacts ship took on the Fleet defending Earth and in Halo 3 the forerunner keye ship got mac lasted and Carpeted bombed by about 40 longswords and didn’t have a scratch on it.
If you beat halo 2 then you know that forerunner shields are nearly unstable. When Taurus used them and the only weapon that could pierce them was the covenant move advance hand held weapon the beam rifle. Even then the shields recharged really fast. What don’t the Prometheans have shields like that.
The last fight with Didact could have been way better than it was. I was expecting like a Taurus fight with Spartan VI’s attacking the Didact while MC moves in for the kill. It would have been nice to see the ture power of the Didact. Not seeing that all it took was one Pulse grenade and he was out of the fight. Even when in lore we were told the Spartan armor is only one sixth the strength of a low ranking forerunner combat suit. So that means means that Didact a high ranking forerunner must of been wearing forerunner cloth or something.
What I am getting at is, should the Prometheans of been more of a Boss Battle than simple ground troops who don’t even have Vehicles.

The hell are you smoking? The Knights already have fast recharging shields. Now you want them to be pure aggro too? Then again, I hate how they use their teleport to escape for their absurdly fast shield to start recharging. It’s like the opposite of sprinting, only 10x worse.

Well, it’d be a nice experience for Spartan IVs (cuz right now they are not taking their jobs very serious). And it’d be nice to amass them using glitches.

I agree with this and are those vids of you and your friends.
The ‘showdown’ with Camp vampire queen Diadact was a complete disappointment!
In the top 5 worst video game bosses of all time.
What ‘Boss’ do you not even get to fight?
Instead fly around and shoot some balls of light and then the stupid nuke cutscence (Worse than what Lucas and Spielberg did to Indianna Jones in the Fridge / Nuke scene )
Que South park!
Yes the Promethians were a bit crap. Teleporting was annoying - instead of them engaging. The ‘fodder’ crawlers had no character (actually no promethians had any character). No promethian vehicles to the mix (that i remember - could be mistaken).
Prom weapons were nothing special, just carbon copies of Pre existing weapons.

Teleport should have been used for surveillance and alerting. Never to escape from an ongoing battle. Knights need to learn to run.
Yep. Thanks for watching!

This is sort of off topic, but lol, that scene was funny!
Actually, the Crawlers have more character than the Knights. You can see them communicating with each other.
Holy -Yoink- yeah.
On the character design aspect, they failed to truly accentuate on the prometheans’ humanity, and in the end, they were just robots, barely peaking past sentinels.
On the gameplay side of things, I think it’s just complete utter failure. It’s cool that they wanted to make them synergetic and modular, but the only thing it offered to the game was annoyances. Revival and extra shields (from watchers) are more annoying than interesting. The knight is essentially a reskinned elite with less personality, as well as having annoying teleportation abilities. Watchers are just -Yoinking!- agravating all around, despite the fact that they prevent combat from being one dimensional. Crawlers are the more entertaining of the three, although they need more improvement (I’d like to see suicide variants, but that would just copy the grunts).

Who is “Taurus”? I know a brute named “Tartarus”, but not Taurus. >:D
Lackluster to say the least. Canonicaly I think the boss structure would have worked just fine (thematically as well), but towards gameplay, perhaps a different AI: less shielding, less firepower, more smart and less relliance on cheap tactics.
> > Man, this guy probably never played the campaign on legendary solo…boy thats a grind.

> Yeah I did and I got mark 6 for it. It wasn’t like it was too hard just carry plasma weapons and human. Then it is just Bip Bop Bam
From what I’ve played of SO, heroic would have been funner. Alass, I completed it on legendary too.
Spartan Ops fleshed them out a bit, but they are a very tedious and very unentertaining enemy.
“I’ve almost got this knight dead and-… Oh, well he teleport away and spawned another watcher. -Yoink-.” is usually how things go.
They shouldn’t be able to recharge shields when they teleport. That’s probably the most annoying part about them. At the same time however, for the spawn of an ancient forerunner being with more power than the entire UNSC in his left pinky toe, they are certainly week robots.
I mean, it’s as simple as a couple of melees to kill these guys, and they aren’t a threat unless they are backed up by two or more other Knights, even on legendary.
You tried to dance toe to toe with an Elite in Halo 2? You gon’ die. All it takes to kill a promethean is to boltshot him, dance around his melee and then melee him. That is if he doesn’t teleport away and regain all his shields again.
It’s far to easy, and the only really challenging enemies are the Battlwagons (who, for whatever reason can’t one-shot you with their melee, even on legendary. An elite in Halo 2 could do it on Heroic) and their scattershots.
The rest are only dangerous in groups.
An elite was dangerous on his own. A group was downright suicidal to attack.
The Prometheans are exactly how they should be. Don’t need vehicles for very obvious reasons and they are robotic, because they are the bridge between organic and artificial.
What I DON’t agree with, is how the covenant armour is exposing so much of their skin. Sure Elites have shields, but why expose so much skin? If this is so far in the future, with an advanced Alien race(s), then what gives? Do they wanna feel pain from a single shot on any of that exposed skin?
^^^ the above paragraph is just my thoughts, not as much a fact as the other statement.
I feel that the Storm Covenant was more of a challenge than the Prometheans… When 343 talked about them, the Prometheans sounded deadly, but they’re really not.
