Were the Forerunners really that bad?

Really, were they really as bad as certain people think they were? I mean yeah they made mistakes, but they weren’t evil, the Precursors on the other hand are evil, and the Forerunners know they are evil, I think that the Forerunners may return and aid us against the Precursors (who will probably be the enemy). What do you think?

I don’t remember anyone saying they were evil.

Evil , no desperate at the very end yes. Thy did what they could to save the universe with the resources they had availiable. It wasn’t enough and they pulled the trigger and took themselves down and most of the flood.

Someone told me the forerunners sent the humans bake to the stone age, using the halo rings, because they were at war with them.

I don’t really trust my friend, but its some thing to think about.

truth, read Cryptum
The forerunners were not very nice people

The Forerunners de-evolved us sent us back to the stone age after we lost the Human-Forerunner War. They put us on one planet, this planet Earth. They also destroyed our technology.

Wow Idk how long I’ve been a fan of halo, and I’ve never heard of the Human-Forerunner war.

So its true! That was a bad–Yoink- move made by the Forerunners.

We had discovered the Flood (which is never good), we were losing planets in the process of the struggle against the Flood. We stepped into Forerunner territory, killing the Forerunners on the planets. The Forerunners were enraged with us killing defenseless Forerunner systems, then the war was ignited.

Who in the hell said Precursors were evil? They created the Forerunners, and Humans and were betrayed by the Forerunners because the Forerunners wanted to be the upholders of the mantle, but the Precursors tested the FR’s but realized the FR’s failed and tested Humanity to see who would become the Mantle’s holders.

The Forerunners weren’t evil, just selfish and didn’t want to be replaced. They fired the Halo Rings and rebuilt humanity.

Forerunners are not evil, they even passed down the mantle to Humans. If anything, it is Precursors who are evil. But due to lack of information on their… everything about them… we cannot be sure.

But to the precursors, the mantle means accepting the flood too.
The forerunner only knew part of the responsibilities of the mantle and had assumed that it ONLY meant being the galaxy’s protectors

I like to think everyone is evil. Problem solved.

Although in all honesty, the Forerunners were partly justified in what they did. The humans were stealing Forerunner planets and killing them to make up for the planets the humans were losing in the Human-Flood War. The humans eventually beat the flood with the cure and when the Forerunners devolved the humans as punishment for being -Yoinks!-, the knowledge of the cure was lost. (ALTHOUGH, it is highly hinted later on that the humans actually didn’t make a cure, it was actually the flood purposefully leaving the humans alone to give them the idea that they had made a cure and that in actuality the flood believed that since the humans so willingly gave themselves up the to flood that they were accepted as the next in line for the mantle since the cure involved infecting humans and having them consumed by the flood to kill the flood).—apologies for the lack of punctuation.

At the end of the day. The Foreruner cause their own destruction by utterly destroying, killing and devolving human-san’shyuum alliance species.

Everyone has the potential to be evil

Nothing is inherently good or evil.
