Were halo 4 maps good

I think they were good how about you.

I liked all of the maps that came with the game originally. Most of the ones released later weren’t as good in my opinion and a lot of them were really laggy and were both bland and boring. Panic Station, as well as the maps added specifically for the Hivemind and Last Stand Flood variants don’t rank very high in my opinion.

I like the difference between the maps in Halo 4 than the rest of the Halo games. Halo 4 was a nice little edition to The Halo franchise and it earns respect.

It’s too bad that so much of the Halo fanbase that disagrees with that statement. Halo 4 is still one of my favorite Halo games.

I liked the big team battle maps, generally. Settler, Exile, and Meltdown were my favorites, though getting into them was difficult because of people voting for Ragnorok whenever possible. The smaller maps were hit and miss for me, but that’s mainly because of the weapons placed on them.

343 has a habit of putting sniper weapons on a ton of maps, even if they’re not entirely suited for sniping. Abandon, Adrift, and Monolith all have 2 snipers on each map, which I think is excessive. Adrift would have been my favorite if it weren’t for the fact that I often couldn’t turn any corner without getting instantly domed, as the other team frequently controlled both snipers. But Solace is easily the worst, simply because it has the Fuel Rod Cannon. Of all the weapons available in any Halo multiplayer, it’s easily one of the most overpowered. Whoever got this was pretty much guaranteed to win. It’s a shame because I think that Solace has a good design. Sneaking to the other base in CTF matches by going underground was always fun, ambushing enemies with assassinations and my Storm Rifle, but the FRC just ruined the map for me.

Vertigo was my favorite map from Halo 4, as it had all the qualities of I map that I like. Asymmetric design, base-to-base combat, a healthy mix of long and short range engagement points, no snipers, and, like pretty much every map created by 343, a great atmosphere and skybox.

I personally liked them. Had to be stretched b/c of sprint, but I feel that Halo 4 maps were better than Halo 5 maps fairly easily.

halo 4 maps were pretty good. especially in forge on ravine, there was so much you could do to it.

Haven was amazing. Great example of a classic Halo map and shows that 343 has potential but the rest of the maps in the game kind of sucked. They can make good maps but it seems like they often opt for things that are trying to be different. Halo is better off with mostly classic, symmetrical maps mixed in with a few asymmetricals here and there.

Halo 4 maps were so much better than the maps in halo 5 I find, Halo 5 maps seem a bit rushed and lacking quality to be honest. The inclusion of the remake of haven was a nice touch in halo 5.

In my opinion, some where great, some were alright & some where just awful

Aye I just did a Good, the bad & the worse reference

It’s funny i’ve seen this because a while ago I decided to rate a bunch of Halo Maps on my Ipod for fun (well I was bored and had too much time on my hands). So here is my list. However one thing to bare in mind, you may find my ratings harsh but I’m sticking by the rule of how ratings on a numerical system work. 5/10 doesn’t mean the map is bad, it means it is average. It means I can play a match on that map and fairly enjoy it, but I’m not really hyped to play on that map. So here goes Halo 4 back to Halo 3

Halo 4 wasn’t a game with terrible maps, but they were pretty disappointing from what I had come to expect from Halo games. I think that’s why when I go back to play 360 Halo games I go back to Reach and Halo 3 instead.

Orbital - 5.7/10
Assembly - 5.1/10
Longshore - 5.0/10

AVERAGE - 7.0/10

I found the vehicular maps in this game had such a wide variety of areas to go, each area would play distinct and the driving paths were very defined to create great flow. The Non Vehicular maps were also very well designed for giving many vantage and counter points that made really nice balanced gameplay, especially on Guardian, The Pit and Narrows. The DLC maps aesthetically were really cool and interesting, but didn’t really feel as well thought out in terms of gameplay for the most part.

Halo: Reach

Spire - 9.0/10
Paradiso - 8.8/10
Countdown - 8.7/10
Haemorrhage - 8.2/10
The Cage - 8.0/10

Boneyard - 7.5/10
Zealot - 7.4/10
Asylum - 7.3/10
Reflection - 7.2/10
Boardwalk - 7.0/10
Highlands - 6.8/10
Breakpoint - 6.7/10
Anchor 9 - 6.7/10
Tempest - 6.0/10
Condemned - 5.5/10

AVERAGE - 7.4/10

Halo: Reach’s maps were a funny one for me. At first there was a few I wasn’t really sure about (although some were instant favourites like Spire) but as I got used to the armour abilities I really came into liking Reachs maps (DLC maps were a bit of a let down for the most part like Halo 3’s), as maps like Sword Base and Boneyard were ones I was skeptical at first, but now I really enjoy them. I found the DLC maps were similar to Halo 3’s in the fact that aesthetically they looked beautiful, they just didn’t all play the best. I also loved countdown’s layout, especially for Swat, and all the community maps were such a blast to play, so many there that I thought were great, but obviously those are fan made maps not OG so can’t include them!

So overall I got the most fun out of Reach’s maps, but I thought Halo 3’s maps were the best and most cleverly structured, whilst Halo 4’s maps weren’t bad but were definitely a weak point. Haven’t played Halo 5’s maps enough to get a proper judgement on them but from what I have played I don’t like them very much at all, but I think that may come down to vehicle handling and gameplay style of that game, not necessarily map design faults (although some I played were unquestionably terrible). I’ll get a proper verdict on them when I get an Xbox One for myself!

All just my opinion though  Hope someone appreciates this list too haha!

Complex was alright.

Vertigo, Pitfall and Ragnarok were astonishingly pretty. They are all really well made, and surpass all maps in Halo 5.

I really liked the maps on 4 especially the dlc ones. But you seldom see those now which is such a shame.

I loved the btb maps of halo 4

I liked most of the Halo 4 maps. They always played pretty well. 'Course, I liked Halo 4 in general, probably because I was good at it. Heck - I was even good at SWAT, which I pretty much suck at in every other Halo game. (My average K/D in H4 is 1.3-something.)
Not so with H5. The gameplay feels impossibly fast. I played six rounds of arena today (3 Mythic Shotty Snipers, 3 Infection), and my K/D ranged from 0.8 to 0.4. (In case you’re wondering why I didn’t quit, I was playing with friends.) My overall K/D is 1.13, and that’s entirely because of Grifball - it’s the only game mode I can get a consistently good K/D in.

In summary:
Halo 4 maps were, with one or two exceptions, pretty great. Halo 5 maps are forged trash.
Can’t wait for H4 backwards compat. I just hope it doesn’t turn out like the MCC.

P.S. Sorry for the rant. Evidently I’m not all that sorry (since I’m posting this), but whatever.

Honestly I won a fair amount of rumble pit matches on the sheer fact I spawned on top of it at the beginning of the match. FRC + jetpack + br + dexterity pretty much broke that map

Halo 4’s maps were excellently designed for arena and btb play. And the DLC maps are amazing, 2 of my 3 favorite maps come from DLC (skyline and monolith, the other being Haven)
