Were Brutes supposed to be in Halo 5 ???

Okay so this question has been nagging at my mind, I have a lot of friends and you tubers tell me halo was an unfinished game that was released, I didn’t really believe them but then they asked me something that made me change my mind. Brute plasma rifles. Why are they in the game if there are not brutes or other covenant soldiers you could get them from in the Game? Does this mean if Halo 5 could have been completed we might have gotten a whole crap ton more campaign missions with master chief and even possibly brutes. Aren’t Gravity hammers brute weapons too?

I don’t think brutes were planned to be in the game. Gravity hammers and brute plasma rifles were both added after release, and the gravity hammer is in the game mostly due to griffball.

I dont think that brutes were supposed to be in Halo 5, I think that the brute weapons were brought back because they were staples of the Halo weapon sandbox.

I think it was both.
I don’t think Brutes were meant to come back, although they may return for Halo 6. The weapons are just there for fun and added variety to the weapons.

But I also think the game was rushed, and that Microsoft pushed 343i, and made them implement certain design features to fit what their idea of the Xbox should be. Sooo…

I see so many people do this, I’m not sure if I’m dumb or not but, why do so many people call it 343i instead of just 343???

oh. lol. No, you’re not dumb. I think it’s because their full name is 343 Industries, so they can go by either 343, or some people shorten it to 343i. But people know who you’re talking about with either one, so there’s nothing wrong with not adding the “i”. And both are faster than having to spell out the entire name.

Its just because its easier.

I’m pretty sure they were added because fans demanded plasma rifles, and they probably went with the brute ones because of hw2 coming soon, that or they decided the elites threw away all their shiny nice blue ones. and gravity hammers were just added for griffball. the game was definitely rushed though.

I wish that in Halo 4, instead of introducing a new Covenant, they had us fight remnants of the Covenant such as Brute clans, Jackal pirates, and other rag-tag groups trying to preserve the legacy of the fallen Covenant. This is why i like the Banished so much; they’re their own thing, not just there to satisfy the franchise be being the “Covenant”. Don’t get me wrong, I love the original Covenant, but I don’t want a new version in a game if they’re just there because they’re “Covenant” and no other reason. The Covenant had their run in the OG Halos, and then had a crappy “reboot” in Halo 4/5. Their leader (Jul M’dama) is dead so why the heck are they still an organised force? This may be 343 trying to ease off the new Covenant and giving some spotlight to the Banished. I hope the remaining members of Jul’s Covenant join the Banished in Halo 6. It would make more sense to fight a group who has purpose besides being called “Covenant”.
