Wemod Trainer is providing mods

A lawsuit won’t do but will bring more complaint etc. Yes it best to ask. Also can’t know until they get a chance to look at the form though all the data they collect.

They might do it if people ask, but if it only works in the campaign, I don’t see a point in asking yet.
Co-op isn’t part of the campaign yet, so I suppose we don’t even know if it will have matchmaking or require inviting people.

Woah the holy ToS? Anything but that! Nooooooooooo

So you want to remove cheats from the singleplayer campaign because it’s breaking the tos, something nobody but you seem to care about? You want them to remove cheats, that some people find make things more fun or interesting, things that should already just be an option in the game, because it breaks tos…

This does NOT affect multiplayer, wemod typically doesn’t support online cheating anyways, and if you are that worried co-op will be a problem for you, play with other people on Xbox. None of what they are doing affects you, I can’t believe I am even reading this nonsense.

Nothing will happen to those who are cheating as nothing has happened to cheaters in halo mcc, and even less, if someone cheated with you in their game in co-op, nothing would happen to you because your game info isn’t modified like theirs is, but just in case cause your very worried about this non existent problem, just don’t do cross platform and stay on Xbox.

I would say that it isn’t a problem to ban people for modding regardless of whether or not the game is co-op or not, sure you may see achievements as nothing but it still breaks the ToS, the anti cheat for this game really needs to be looked into more.

Just wanted to clarify I’m specifically talking about cheating that affects online systems which includes achievements, cheating is cheating regardless of how big or small the impact is, mods that add things to an offline game like Skyrim or even GTA singleplayer that don’t affect the online systems (achievements, cloud, multiplayer etc) are different in my opinion.

Instead of banning people for cheating in singleplayer and co-op over achievements, they should just disable the achievements for whoever cheats, or reset their achievements for the game every time they cheat.

I really like achievements because I like collectables, but aside from that, I don’t think they’re worth taking away the ability to cheat and mod games from people, especially now that developers won’t even add cheats to their games without charging for them.

I agree that nobody specifically should be banned for cheats in SP and would be totally fine with them disabling cheats in SP but then it comes down to how you detect if someone has cheats? Cheats themselves are also still against Microsoft’s ToS so even publicly allowing SP cheats would be a challenge, then you have to make systems to check for those cheats being used which I imagine would be a lot of work and you would still have people making “undetectable” cheats to get around them disabling achievements.

Resetting someone’s achievements would also be a difficult task, how do we know if someone cheated for their achievements? That would point back to being able to detect cheats in SP on the backend and then you would also have a lot of false reports over it that would need to be investigated.

Only solution I can personally think of is just keeping the game updated to block as much cheat software as possible but I’m not a security dev or really a normal dev to begin with so I wouldn’t know how difficult that would be to keep up with lol.

Maybe 343i will send a strongly worded letter! That’ll surely work!

It’ll work better more effectively than some random forum goer trying the same thing like was suggested by that random forum goer lol.

But I digress, as long as there’s games there’s going to be 3rd party developers profiting off those games.

From what you’re saying, it wouldn’t even be worth it for them to stop people from cheating in singleplayer or co-op.
So, if it isn’t worth it for them, and it isn’t affecting anyone (assuming that co-op doesn’t have matchmaking), why should they stop people from cheating in singleplayer or co-op?

The place where they really need to stop people from cheating is multiplayer.
They actually have a reason to do that (more cheating leads to less players), so it would be worth it for them to do that.

The solution to this is for 343 to implement an anti cheat for MP fast.
You want to play MP = Anticheat must be on
You want to play Campaign offline or co op = Anticheat can be off

Needless to say, the moment Anticheat is turned off, all achievements are disabled and MP access is blocked.

I see no problem with mods being used for single player. If anything MS/XBOX need to update their TOS to allow singleplayer mods. I want to play cursed Halo on XBOX. Make it happen.

You’re right it probably isn’t worth trying to worry about singleplayer cheats and it probably won’t be looked into ever, it wasn’t in MCC. That doesn’t change the fact that it’s still against MS’s ToS and should be looked into but probably never will.

They should probably change their ToS.

Surely you only play coop with mates and not randoms right? So it shouldn’t be a problem or you have bad friends.

Well let’s see what the future holds cause no body can say unless ur the devs etc. Also will check back after 3 more days to see if there’s a hypothesis. Big notes never will change on xbox side

vii. Harmful behavior has no place on Xbox

Cheating, tampering, and the use of exploits

Since competition is best when it’s fair , a level playing field is one of the most important requirements for gaming. When people cheat, use exploits, or otherwise tamper with hardware or software to gain a competitive advantage, it ruins the experience for everyone. Because of this, cheating, tampering, and the use of exploits is never acceptable in the Xbox community. Like, never.

For example, don’t:

  • Use “mods” in games that do not allow modded content
  • Use a glitch that lets you use your character outside of a multiplayer map
  • Use specialized software to gain unfair advantage over other players
  • Use Xbox services with modified or tampered hardware
  • Manipulate game stats to gain a competitive advantage against other players
  • Use multiple profiles to unfairly manipulate your multiplayer rank
  • Try to circumvent in-game economies through “money drop lobbies”
  • Use unauthorized hardware or accessories
  • Use exploits to “duplicate” in-game items
  • Intentionally play with or support someone who uses harmful or inappropriate mods (looking at this one)
  • Intentionally “teamkill” other players

Co op isn’t out yet. ToS change at a fairly common basis generally speaking. Stop worrying about something that has zero effect on anything at the moment and when and IF there is every an issue, ya know. When co op is out (and may not have have matchmaking) then start to ponder these things if you notice any degregation of fun. Games are at the end of the day just entertainment, toys. So i think that if there is no effect on the competitive elements, people should be able to mess around and cheat all they want in a single player game. Time will tell. Now isn’t the time to think about this.

Unless it’s in a multiplayer game, I don’t see why this exists.
Who cares if someone duplicates their sweetrolls in a single-player Elder Scrolls game?

That section in general needs an update to say “never acceptable in competitive multiplayer and server-based games”.

I will be taking this post down with a mod
