Geesh I expected some backlash but dam this has really gotten out of control.
All I have been seeing for days is “this game sucks, “-Yoink- 343”, “if josh holmes sees me in real life ima put him in a comma”, " burn 343” and a lot of other comments like these.
Like geesh constructive criticism is welcomed but there are so few of threads that are actually constructive criticism. Now this isn’t a complaint thread about the complaint threads but it’s more about the sanity of a community.
I understand 343 may not be perfect (no company is) but at least they’re trying. All they really want to do is continue giving fans more halo. Even if it wasn’t 343 continuing halo I still see the community being in this state.
To be honest though 343 I’m a fan of yours and I support you and I defend you so I hope you hear me when I say go to Microsoft, have a meeting, and kill halo.
Burn halo and make a new ip, that way you can forge a new community from scratch and you won’t have to deal with these purist and other people. Like seriously this community is no better than destiny’s.
I used to want to come to the forums and other halo forum sites but not anymore. Its toxic everywhere.
Whoever said that about Josh Holmes could get jailed for threatening another person’s life. Everything else you quoted (this game sucks, blam 343, etc) I agree with, this game has serious problems that ruin it overall.

They’re going to put him in a comma? ,Josh Holmes, ← Like that? I put him in two commas, is that okay?
To answer your question- if 343 hadn’t made such terrible games they wouldn’t be getting such negative feedback. In addition to them being soft, they can’t take criticism and i got a warning for writing my opinion on a game. Halo 5 is okay, but we will never get back that '07 feel.
It’s inevitable. People will complain no matter what because they fail to realize that they’ll never receive a replica of any of the original Halo trilogy.
Every time a halo game comes out it gets a lot of hate, give it time. All the people who don’t like it will soon be gone and everyone who likes it will stay. Will there be stuff that people still don’t like in the future, yes. Your best bet is just stay away from the forums for a while. Now go enjoy the game, i demand it.

The moderators are strict yes I agree I just got unbanned today… everyone has different views of what’s terrible and what isn’t. Halo 3 was terrible, halo 4 was terrible, reach was the best. In my opinion.

There is a way to not like a game without threatening dev’s or resorting to hyperbole. I get people are passionate, but some people seem to honestly like hating on things and using excessively dramatic language.

Pointing out flaws with the game is not toxic. Look at it this way. Some people can speak their mind, in an intelligent an educated fashion. Some cannot, at least on the internet. There’s a difference between someone saying “Halo 5 sucks” and “Halo 5 has a problem with X and here’s why”, yes, but overall the point is the same. Why does person A think Halo 5 sucks? Probably for the same reasons person B would say, but they just don’t have the mental capacity or online expertise to convey or properly.
You cannot deny there are problems with this game. If you do, you’re hurting the franchise instead of helping by not critiquing the product and giving 343 something to consider when making improvements, either for this game, or the next.
For example, custom game options. We literally have none. No Oddball, no King of the Hill, no Infection. These became the staple of Halo multiplayer, aside from the biggest gametype being Slayer. If we all just said “Game is good 343 good job” and didn’t point out “Hey 343, we really would like our custom games back, they were fun”, Halo 6 could end up being just Slayer and nothing else. The game needs variety to keep it from getting stale. That means more objectives. All we’d be asking is to include some gametypes already established in Halo, not make more. That’s only one issue, out of many. By pointing these out for 343 to see (and multiple topics by multiple people on the same subject is annoying for the average forumgoer to see, but sort of important to show the developers how much this certain thing being posted about multiple times is a problem), we can help improve the game for the better. There is no downside to having classic gametypes return. But people take this sort of stuff has blind hate, when it’s not.
Think of it this way, we all love Halo. We want to see it thrive and continue. We want to help improve it by pointing out fatal flaws. That’s not being a hater. That’s being more supportive than the people that just say “This game is perfect” when it’s not. No game is. Everything has room for improvement. Some people just point it out in a more…hostile way. It’s all with good intentions, of course, but the way they explain themselves or their dislike towards something comes off as ‘hate’, when it’s not.

Like seriously. There’s a huge difference between giving actual feedback that is helpful than saying things like “dam 343 are a bunch of dumb -Yoinks!- who can’t make a true halo, these idiots made a new cod. Halo 5 sucks” <- that is what ive been reading a lot lately. But anyway fallout 4 is on the horizon. Ima try to start a petition (if I’m not too lazy) to get Microsoft to kill halo. No developer really deserves a community like this.

I do hope you are secured properly, a fall from a horse that high could be potentially deadly.
> There is a way to not like a game without threatening dev’s or resorting to hyperbole.
Next to no one is “threatening the devs”. It’s just a convenient stereotype for people to make up. “Look at all these angry people, I’m sure we can discredit them further by calling them violent, and people will readily believe it”.

Honestly my view on halo 5 is one reason why I’m not getting it yet. There are things I like and things I don’t like. As a halo fan who has been playing since ce I honestly want the franchise to rest permanently. You can only milk a cow so many times.
Halo leaves no room for creativity and it holds developers back. It held bungie back, it’s still holding 343 back because they cant change anything without people rioting and insulting them, if it wasn’t 343 who took halo than whatever company did take it they would be held back to.
It’s like that saying " if you truly love something let it go"
I really want to see new ips and I believe xbox can get a new face, Something that’s better than halo ever was and will be.

Unless something changes, Halo 6 is supposed to be the last installment in the franchise, so it’ll be “dead” soon enough.

Admittedly I haven’t seen violent talk in relation to have 5. Though I definitely saw it in relation to MCC.
The problem is it only takes a few people to make the whole group look bad. Its why the negative community ends up being called whiners, because there is a portion of them that do just post drivel that does nothing but start arguments and make redundant threads.
I’m not saying the positive community is flawless either, don’t let the my naming’s connotations mislead you. Both sides possess people who resort to weak, silly, or misinformed arguments, which just ends up making both sides look bad and just escalates a divide. Both side will never convince eachother, so it just cycles on and on getting peoples’ blood pressures up and destroying the community.

Oh trust me there have been some threats. The threads have been, locked and since I was banned I couldn’t post in them or id post the links to the threads here
