I’ve been using this emblem since Reach, and I’m afraid Halo 5 won’t let me use it anymore. There are pre set emblems now and the only “customizable” feature is selecting color sets that are already picked. 
I understand it’s trivial in the grand scheme of things but I’ve always felt this emblem was part of my identity on Halo.
Update: WE CAN ALL SHUT UP ABOUT THIS NOW BECAUSE GREENSKULL HAS JUST SAVED THE HALO COMMUNITY FROM TEARING ITSELF APART.
Update 2: After watching Greenskull’s video, it’s now officially confirmed that emblem customization’s gone.

It’s not a big deal.
the game did not even go Gold yet.
Even if it’s not there at launch, then tell add it for DLC or a post launch update.
I’m still loving the clippy emblem.

You can change the color of it, though. If anything it just gets rid of backgrounds.

I don’t really care about emblems since you don’t see them on the armor anymore.

That’s five years of the same emblem. Six or seven for me. We don’t want to change something we’ve used for this long. So how about you change something that’s become a tradition for you?
It would have been nice to actually choose our colors instead of color palettes, but oh well. I can still use Runes, and that’s good(ish) for me.
Yeah, it sucks. Lucky for me, I just use the wolf behind the moon every game and the black and white color preset will probably be included.
When Halo Reach came out I had to change mine. I used to sport the “mark of shame” but they didn’t have it in Reach. Wasn’t that big of a deal to me. To each their own I guess.

Even they give us a wide variety of options, they’re limiting us even more if you think about it.
- Yes, they’re giving us 175 armor sets, but we’re only able to customize out helmet, body, and visor color. That’s a step back from Halo 3. Come on, 343i.
- They loaded Halo 5 with tons of emblems (Noble Team and Clippy emblems confirmed!), although many people, like myself, who are Halo vets and have used the same emblem for years are now unable to continue using it. I’ve used the classic Shield and Swords combo since Halo 2.

Yes, it’s been in Halo forever. That’s basically the reason it should remain in the game.
We all know 343i has a knack for changing up things, so I’m not so surprised they’re taking out tons of classical emblems too.

It’s so generic, I’ve not seen ANYONE use it but me in the way I have. Hmm yep, that’s the epitome of generic.
What Preset emblems, wtf is this -Yoink-? That was all apart of the fun of customizing your own emblem, now we can only choose color? I could accept the preset armor, but this is just adding on. I don’t want them to make my enblem for me…as someone who loves creativity, I love mixmatching.
Edit: I got to admit, ^^ that emblem is pretty generic. I’ve seen plenty of those.
Listen guys, I love Halo 5 to death, but you’ve gotta draw the line. 343 are slowly taking out classic features we’ve had since CE. Some things like split screen are understandable because of the technological compromise, but stuff like this and armor customization without telling us why is starting to get really frustrating. All I can think of is what will 343 remove next?
Well I guess I can’t use the emblem I’ve Been using sense Halo 2 ever again… At least I was able to make it in MGS5.
