Well we have 2 title updates coming,

For the rough start, all the complaints, all the issues, all the lack of communication with the community people have been yelling and ranting about perhaps this was what 343 was doing?

Well this should come as no suprise, they said they would update it and like any other game out there they do both short term and long term updates.

The first won’t do anything to the sandbox but future ones still will. Besides balancing sandbox stuff does take a while to experiment and see what works over what they previously made it as. But yeah in short we are getting changes.

So for all the issues of no competivie rank, no active file broswer, terrible modes, broken sandbox etc etc etc. For all the rants, is it not enough that 343 is bringing updates? We are getting the CSR, the file browser, sandbox updates in the future (not this first TU) so for all the hurdles and issues are many still going to complain? Are some of you happy? I mean the ranting over every little detail in this game was funny but then it started to seem kinda sad how everyone had a tiny issue and this mode should burn in hell or something.

Just be happy and glad 343 is responding, least they are doing something, I’d rather have a game with some issues at first that at least gets better from a developer that at least tries to address these problems rather than one which is always going to be plauged by exploits (MW2). 343 did not have everything ready like bungie but least they are doing something about it, but hell even with this title update people are still going to complain or say they should have had this at first. Hey just remember, even if it was you running it, you couldn’t please everyone either.

Amen brother. Well said

You forget that Bungie’s games upon released always had issues and were not perfect. People still complained about Reach/h3/h2 as much as halo4. This is nothing new. Yes Bungie was a little more vocal but their games weren’t squeaky clean as everyone thinks.

Not gunna lie, i complained quite a bit, but after team regicide, i was/am so happy. BEST gametype so far. i wish they made a 6v6 team regicide with ordinance to 1000 points. there’s the dream, but i love this team regicide

I’m glad they’re coming out with a couple updates, but I won’t be convinced until I see what they actually plan on fixing, balancing, and/or adding.

I just want a finished product out from the start. I realize Bungie’s games were not perfect, however, I didn’t see as many complaints labeling the previous Halos as betas, like I did for Halo 4.

Yes but at least they were released with all of the game modes and file browser included.

amen to you.

I find most of these people complaining to be more disrespectful than anything. Look at the way some of them are calling them money hoarders, saying they don’t care about the game, and wishing death on them, etc. It’s sick.

343i announced what game modes would be included WAY before the game released, you’re argument is invalid.

File browser is being worked on, the mass amount of people on the servers prolly messed it up in a way that they wouldn’t know about while it was being made.

This is what happens when you don’t have a beta, oh wait, we are playing the Halo 4 beta.

> This is what happens when you don’t have a beta, oh wait, we are playing the Halo 4 beta.

You’re implying that if a game isn’t perfect upon release it’s automatically a beta.

The game runs pretty well. It has a few issues but no where near a beta. You’ve become a spoiled gamer demanding to play a “beta” before release which the industry uses a glorified demo of the game to test their servers, not really to test the game. Most of the Betas for Call of Duty, Gears of War, Battlefield are more akin to demos then pre-released beta software.

Bungie’s games had horrid problems with every release, Beta or no Beta. I wonder if people complained that every game they released was a beta because it had issues and wasn’t exactly 100% what they wanted.

It’s going to get tough to complain around here, when 343i continues to address concerns.

People are going to have to start getting really really picky. XD

> This is what happens when you don’t have a beta, oh wait, we are playing the Halo 4 beta.

Reach was broken upon release. I guess that means it was the 2nd Reach beta right?

Halo 4 has a SOLID core…minor tweaks will bring to perfection.

I wouldn’t have a problem with it, if 343 would actually acknowledge the problems, instead of devoting a section of a Bulletin to photos of Truck, and later old concept photos and such. Bungie’s games, as stated, had flaws as well. But they were VOCAL about it.

No. I want to know what you’ll be fixing, not to see pictures of a truck I have no shot at winning.

343 just seems to be ignoring the criticism and doing what they want. And I don’t think that goes over well in this market.

> Halo 4 has a SOLID core…minor tweaks will bring to perfection.

Exactly. That is the truth.

Remember halo2 on release? That had do many problems and glitches that any game made today with those same problems would have died.

Just remember, even though they arn’t vocally responding to complaints does not mean they don’t listen.

Look at other game communities, any Blizzard game. Look at wow, Blizzard has to balance, 11 classes with 3 talents each (4 for druid) 33 different play styles, in co-op and competitive scenario. Yes this is wow which has nothing to do with Halo but its done in the same sense, they need to try and even out different play styles for each class and give each of them some advantage and disadvantage. Any bulky character who tanks and endures has some pros and cons, there is always a dominant character in some category but still limited. No matter what Blizzard does though people will always complain, in PVE or PVP, they constantly add new abalites, remove them, or modify them.

Now look at TF2, the game had a few issues before being the hat based combat simulator it is today. Back at launch the Pyro and Enginner in almost any instance were screwed. Pyro was defenseless even up close in some places and Engineers could only drop their buildings in one place, never move them. Few patches later, pyro had an alt-fire for the flamethrower, an air blast which could reflect non-hitscan projectiles. Later in 2010 Engineers could finally pick up their buildings and move them elsewhere. Like Blizzard though, Valve has to keep an eye on what seems dominant and underused. Sometimes weapons are updated or changed when a new item is introduced. A weapon for the soldier called the equalizer used to grant more power and speed as the players life was closer to zero. Recently the weapon was split into 2 separate weapons, the equalizer grants power, the seperate version grants the speed as life goes down but still holds the basic power.

Want to know what Blizzard and Valve do? They listen but don’t respond as much, they would rather focus on the problem then sit up and just see what everyone is complaining about. Everyone has problems but a dominant problem or issue is looked at, not every little petty one people come up with. Plus they need to try and give common ground, a bit of give and take between each class, weapons, playstyle, player type (co-op or competitive).

343 is only a group of 200, don’t be surprised its hard for them to address a large fan base. 200 is greatly outmatched by over 100,000 players who could be upset about something daily. They can’t drop everything just to make you happy, they need to do something for a majority of the players, the game, etc. They can’t please everybody, if you don’t like it either wait or just stop playing. Its not a matter of them just flipping a switch, they need to look into these things.

Game development is just like our democracy, the people in charge always have the first and final say. for us as players we are both right and wrong about the decisions the developers make. At times we know better and at times we don’t know better even when we think we do. But those choices all lie in what the developer does. Halo could have been handed off to Activision or EA but they would give no -Yoink- about the state of the game. 343 is actually responding, trying to make it better, that counts for something. They can’t please everyone, we are not all going to be happy with what they do, but they do what they can. Its not like any of us is always granted to do better.

This community… For the past 12 years… It sickens me at times. Recently even more so.
