I’d say look at Halo 3 to see why you’re wrong, but if you’d rather block me for disagreeing with you then alright

Halo 3 gained about a million players upon launch, and those players soon discovered different parts inside the Halo Community. Forge, Customs, Customisation, Infection, Co-Op’s, Achievement groups, Grifballs, Machinima, all stuff like that.
I already had to Restart my Xbox 5 times because Pressing Y completely breaks the game & closing & re opening the game it won’t launch
So far not liking this update
We’ll make that 6 now
Whelp, it seems like a flop thus far. They took away Bot Bootcamp without any reason to do so. And they’re still padding out the Pass with Emblems, XP Boosts, and Challenge Swaps. Maybe if the pass actually had content, like the Command Shoulder Pieces, helmets like JFO, Operator, Gungnir, etc. it would be less frustrating. But that would demand good decision making skills on 343’s part.
Don’t forget, no Split-Screen Co-Op still. And apparently it’s just been sitting around 80% complete for months. Just one more example of deceptive and false advertising on 343’s part. Bonnie Ross said ALL Halo Titles going forward after Halo 5 would have Split Screen Co-Op, Halo Infinite does not have Split Screen Co-Op. If that’s not lying, I don’t know what is.
I remember in the days of Halo 3, the numbers were always above 500,000. In the last 30 days on Steam, there have been a little over 2500.
Imagine if someone who’s always late says “Okay, from now on I’m never going to be late again.” And the next time there’s an event they leave early only to have someone run a red light and t-bone their car, making them late.
Spoiler alert: Bonnie Ross should have never made such a bold claim because anyone who’s been in game dev knows how unpredictable development can be.
You’re asking for someone to catch lightning in a bottle twice. The number of games out there that consistently have over 500k can practically be counted on two hands. Furthermore, it’s 2022. There’s more games than ever being released that are all constantly vying for attention. The odds of there ever being another Halo game that consistently gets 500k+ concurrent users is practically impossible.
so match xp is kinda meh. tough to believe there isn’t medal based xp awards or at least 10 different awards. it seems there is only 3 things you can be awarded for? i know it’s still being fleshed out but this is a lacklustre start.
Oh yeah definitely, I’m not even asking that 343i match those numbers. Halo 3 was released in a different era and was a phenomenon. It’s just that Halo Infinite should have much higher numbers, the name Halo carries significant weight & meaning behind it, and 343i is just dropping the ball with the series over and over.
Well the good news is that it seems like the challenge/xp changes (and perhaps tuning/new content) seems to have helped with player count. Middle of the day on Tuesday and player counts on Steam have been sitting steady around 10k.
This doesn’t mean all the problems are fixed, but this is the first update in half a year that has put the game over 10k. There’s still an audience for the game, there just needs to be a few more key features/changes to get the game to a healthy concurrent player count.
Not if it takes another year.
It definitely got me playing it again. I enjoy the new maps, but the new game mode is whatever to me. I’m hoping that we get more content updates like this, not once a year. If we get one every few months, this game can definitely grow in player count.
I’m hoping that we get a campaign add on as well, if Infinite is supposed to be a 10 year journey like they stated.
FF XIV says hi.
If the leaks/rumors are to be believed, the past year has seen a lot of restructuring/changes with 343 that potentially point to a faster development timeline. I suspect the reason we got this tiny 30 level battle pass is because they needed something to occupy players’ time while 343 pivots to new development processes.
no op, I’m not happy.
they removed bot boot camp, which is a mode I would let my little cousin play on to avoid the toxicity of the internet but still be able to play game modes.
they removed free for all, which is a mode I used to relax.
there is no custom games browser, which would be useful for accessing free for all modes.
game has crashed twice in the past 4 hours.
the forge is basically meaningless because there is no way to broadcast your stuff except through personal communities such as discord servers.
I was genuinely looking forward to this.
my mistake.
I dont know yet. I know rank reset is a mixed bag of players of all skill levels.
So far it seems like i need MORE shots on target with the BR to get a kill. Perhaps worse then before.
Also (maybe placebo effect) but aim assist on XSX/controller feels turned down.
I’m probably just getting worked by better players honestly. lol - But it feels a bit different…
Have they updated ranked arena and nerfed the BR yet?
Players are checking out the update. It’s much to early to tell if anything is helping. Tell me the steam numbers on a Tuesday afternoon in 3 weeks.
And H I will say goodbye. ![]()

No update/event since Lone Wolves (which is understandable) has gotten player count above 10k.

Did you just stop reading my post after the first paragraph?

Here ya go.
Gave it some time today. Forge is wild. Bot bootcamp being removed left me 0 reason or desire to go into the multiplayer menu now cause that was mainly what I played. No split screen at all on pc means I’ll play today, maybe tomorrow and then im gone til season 3 and repeat the same process. Something as simple as split screen would keep me on daily with my kid but without it neither of us have the desire to play.
