I would wager it’s because more people get instant notification (especially for an image) via social media, i.e. Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Check Halo social media to see specific time zones around the world for when the update launches.
I’m looking forward to Forge, which will not only be the most advanced iteration of the app, but may well turn out to be the best console accessible map editor to date. I expect it will be at least as advanced as Far Cry 5s and may even surpass it as features are added. Now- it will lack features at launch such as terrain editing, water volumes, and vegetation painting, but will handle object scaling, movement, and rotation better than FC5. For the most part it should be capable of remaking maps from every Halo game including those with dynamic elements such as Terminal and Zanzibar. That’s a major win even without a custom game browser.
only 2 more hours! hope its good!
Gods my crappy AT&T internet better be up to this task. I don’t want to have to wait all day for it to download.
So why stick around?
Cool. Anyways…
I’m hoping we see the Bandit Rifle and Falcon sooner rather than later; trying to keep expectations reasonable, but still hoping for a few surprises with this update
I have a feeling it’s gonna be another flop bye 343. Add a few things and break a lot more. I have no faith in them at this point. I haven’t played in months but I’ll pop back in for a couple games this afternoon to see if the server issues and desync are fixed
Flop if crossplay disabled isn’t an option along with stronger anti-cheat mechanisms. The game is still borderline unplayable with these two issues present.
Introducing “new” features on top of a broken game is absurd.
The two new maps are really fun to play. I was test playing them at Halo Worlds and I really enjoyed that we’re getting two new arena maps that have sniper rifles at each base. This power weapon start is a great start to arena style gameplay.
Forge continues to grow and become more and more than I could ever imagine. I know that this community is going to create some of the most intense insane maps and game modes than we’ve ever seen before!
I’m mostly excited for Covert CTF. This new different starting equipment/weapon start is sure to be fun and exciting in a great social dynamic. My friends and I will be playing tonight and we’re super excited for this update.
Seriously disappointed that at this point there is nothing coming to the campaign still.
Co-op and mission replay, as well as new achievements
it just started now, hope its good
lol, not playercount.
I get where you’re coming from, however I get matched against players who are in Onyx. Sometimes the players I’m against compete in tournaments, and it’s not that I can’t personally hold my own against them.
It’s the fact that my friends are ranked around gold at best. They’re generally the most average players out there, and with the way aim assist works (or often doesn’t work) on Xbox, it makes them feel like they can’t play at all. Plus the fact that vehicles are weak af makes BTB also pretty annoying since we can’t just vehicle up and have a laugh.
Game is anti playing with friends.
It’s currently update day and MCC is actually level with Halo Infinite.
Both have around 2000 active players currently.
When it’s not peak times, MCC actually overtakes Halo Infinite by a few hundred.
How do you explain that H:I is currently shown as #23 on the Xbox most played list, while MCC isn’t even on the list of top 50?
Fair point, but those are basic features we should’ve had a year ago, I moreso meant content.
Nice, you think the steam charts are everything.
Well, we didn’t and they’re here now.
The number of players actively playing the game are pretty important. It shows how relevant the game is and how many people are actively playing the game.
If there’s no one playing the game, then you can tell the game is pretty dead.
Also, the fact that we’ve had to wait about a year for this content which should’ve launched on day 1 is a massive problem. Many of the players will not return. We had about 250,000 players on launch if I remember correctly. Now we’ve got about 2,000. If the content was there, those players would’ve stayed.
