My guess is they’re just replacing all the challenges similar to things like “earn X score in Quick Play”, “Play X Quick Play games”, and “Win X Quick Play games”.
So stuff like cindershot kills technically can’t be completed in EVERY playlist because of Tactical Slayer, but it still should allow us all to mostly only play in the lists we enjoy
The entire game MUST AT ALL TIMES maintain a connection with a Microsoft server, be it XboxLive or the Azure PlayFab, maybe even both,
If at any moment your internet connection is to be interrupted and loses connectivity even for just a moment your gaming session in Halo Infinite will end with the game quiting immediately with no progress saved.
Welcome to the Future of Gaming, is it not Glorious?
Except for the fact that games tend to frequently save as you go.
And any Forger worth their salt will be saving progress frequently. Especially if they know their internet is prone to drop outs.
And “just a moment”. I’m sure the connection protocols are a little better than that.
Plus the new “versioning” system of saves looks to be very robust.
And honestly - I’ve been Forging on/off for over a decade. Particularly smashing hours in Halo 5. I can’t remember ever losing a huge chunk of progress from a disconnection.
Yea I may have gotten a little bit overboard/dramatic on the necessity of having an “A++++” internet connection,
but it still remains that the game will not even boot without a Microsoft server check-in and then remain connected to a server to continue playing.
Old school offline LAN Halo is and will remain a distanced memory.
Who knows. Ut 343 has broken something in game with each update launch was BTB, season 2 was the the headhunter achievement, and with a Forge Beta coming this update could possibly break something else.
We know that last time they tried fixed Ng it it took till January or mid February to fix.
Fingers crossed it goes smooth and starts the beggining of smooth faster updates and more content and features
