I personally have no issue with the aiming but if 343 wants to make the gameplay better than it already is, that’s fine by me.

> I keep hoping this is just a bad dream and that I’ll wake up from it, but it’s real. The aiming is garbage. I still have not gotten used to it. It’s just awful. I know I don’t need to go into detail about how bad these aiming mechanics are, because so many other people have expressed what’s wrong, but it’s nothing like any Halo before it. Why change what was NEVER wrong with Halo? Every game in MCC feels amazing, as far as aiming is concerned. Going back and forth between different Halo games on there is effortless and I’m always confident that my shot will be on. This game is just wonky as hell. I can’t even begin to express my disappointment with the aiming mechanics. I really hope they listen to us and make this game feel like EVERY game before it. And not just a little deadzone tweaking or accel tweaking…it needs a 100% revert back to how we all know Halo is supposed to feel. It’s just not a fun game. I gave it a legitimate chance after 23 hours of play, but it’s still bad. There’s just no getting used to the aiming in this game. So much potential…damn…
Me personally i’v never had a problem with the aiming. Being honest here i know it’s a change but i think there not going to fix the issue’s on aiming.
Houw is the aiming jank? Head shots are easier and more controlled. It’s dope.
Halo 5 did feel off compared to previous Halo games. It feels more like a twitch shooter now.
I’ll admit, sometimes it really feels like I just can’t quite land that last shot to the head. Also, there’s the occasion that my reticle will be considerably off to the left or right of someone’s head, yet I’ll still land a headshot
Other than that, the aiming feels relatively solid.
I havent had an issue with the aim at all. Im actually doing better on this Halo then some of the others and I seem to be getting quite a bit of headshots when I am playing Swat. It would be nice for you that have aproblem with it to have an option to change but Im sure there are people like me that like the aiming and dont want it to change.

I’ve also noticed this happen during play. Wonder if it’s server lag of some sort? Or our personal ping time to the server we’ve connected to?

Do you think it feels that way more when firing from the hip, or zoomed in?

Yeah it could be server issues. I read somewhere on here that it could just be the game compensating. This sounds like a broken record, but perhaps we’ll get a patch for that?
To the OP:
I agree. There is just something not quite right about the aiming in this game. I always struggle with it. And I’m not playing on a high sensitivity either. I just feels a little twitchy to me.
Its playable though. This has to be the most fair and balanced game I’ve played since Halo 3. I’m not sure it’s as skillful though.

> Trust me, those of us who are upset with the change to aiming mechanics, WE WANT TO PLAY THIS GAME.
> We are bringing this up every single day until we get an option to play with classic Halo aiming mechanics. I don’t want to move along or wait another three years for Halo 6. I want to enjoy Halo 5. I don’t understand why people are getting defensive about it. We want to play. I am not bashing 343 or Halo. I just want to play this game with classic Halo aiming mechanics.
The people getting defensive, are the people who enjoy, and like the game, as it is. We are getting defensive because there is this portion of the halo community, who feel as though the game should be changed to accommodate their wishes, when they are part of the minority opinion. That is to say that the people who enjoy the game as is, outnumber those who dont. Just because there is a portion of the halo community who do not like the change, that does not then mean that it is broken, and needs fixing. So when we get these people, yourself included, who are making this never ending outcry for a change to be made, it pisses off those of us who enjoy the game, as is. I have had absolutely no trouble with aiming. I finish most games with numerous perfect kills. As does many people I play with. But then you get these people complaining, saying things like “Well just because there are people who do not notice there is a problem, does not mean there isnt one”. And I cannot help but laugh at such things, because it goes both ways. Because with only a fraction of the halo community complaining about the aiming, and the majority of people having no trouble at all, I cant help but think that the people who are complaining, are just being babies, because they cant reach the same level of skill that they did with past halo games as easily, or as quickly. So then instead of being open to change, they jump on this “blame the aiming mechanics” bandwagon.
Halo 2 is my favorite Halo. Always will be. When Halo 3 came out, my level of disapointment was through the roof. I did, and still do, hate many aspects of halo 3 gameplay. But I didnt go and jump to forums and start crying for a change to be made, because I didnt like the way it was. What did I do? I moved the hell on to other games. And the way myself, and many others see it, that is exactly what you should do if you have that big of a problem with any aspect of this game. A drastic change to the fundamental gameplay, which is what you guys are calling for, would piss off just as many people as are pissed off with how it is now. Ive seen many of you say why fix or change what isnt broken, in reference to the change made from past halos, but as I said, it works both ways. Halo 5 isnt broken, so why change it. You dont like it? Move along.
yes!
another day in the books i played on halo, still like the game. still no issue for me aim wise, but i barely played 4 at all. so this has become comfortable for me.
can someone please explain this dead zone?

What a stupid argument. We love Halo, there’s just a major part of it that isn’t working for us at the moment, I’m glad it’s working out for you. Why shouldn’t we try and get it changed? I really don’t get why it has to be 1 or the other. Just have 2 or more modes of aiming, then you can chose, everyone’s happy. There are so many threads on this topic it’s clearly an issue.
No problem with the game, it just evolved as it should
oh, ok, bye bye

> It’s not about the lack of aim assist. We’re all grateful for that. It has to do more with the amount of aim acceleration. If you played the beta, I’m sure you can agree the aiming felt much more fluid. Now though, I feel like I’m fighting with my controller in order to aim properly.
Me too
