I know I don’t need to go into detail about how bad these aiming mechanics are, because so many other people have expressed what’s wrong, but it’s nothing like any Halo before it. Why change what was NEVER wrong with Halo? Every game in MCC feels amazing, as far as aiming is concerned. Going back and forth between different Halo games on there is effortless and I’m always confident that my shot will be on. This game is just wonky as hell. I can’t even begin to express my disappointment with the aiming mechanics. I really hope they listen to us and make this game feel like EVERY game before it. And not just a little deadzone tweaking or accel tweaking…it needs a 100% revert back to how we all know Halo is supposed to feel. It’s just not a fun game. I gave it a legitimate chance after 23 hours of play, but it’s still bad. There’s just no getting used to the aiming in this game. So much potential…damn…

Just watching the clips my friends have made, I’m seeing that a lot less was changed from the beta (ostensibly an alpha) than I had been told - no surprise there. I’m not going to go out of the way to restart my Gamefly subscription for this like Halo 4 (solid game that felt like Halo) so I won’t be playing it unless a Redbox machine nearby stocks it, so I’m just curious. How’s the framerate? The visuals actually strike me as worse than either Halo 4 or Halo 3 on the MCC, somewhere around what Halo 2 Anniversary looked like, so I expect that it at least runs smooth enough, being 343i’s primary focus.

When Dark Souls II was released with a T, I had assumed that it was perhaps the ESRB getting over themselves and coming back down to planet earth, choosing not to put a game like Dark Souls (or Halo) in the same rating category as GTA as that’s complete overkill and it seemed like they just kept handing out an M rating for consistency. Of course when Dark Souls II came out, it came with a severe lack of the blood from the first game and I felt stupid to have hoped the ESRB was just being reasonable…so I don’t want to guess: when you shoot corpses, is there or is there not the feature where blood spews out from them? Kind of disappointing if there isn’t.

> With regards to the graphics. It is definitely better looking than any game in the Master Chief Collection and runs at 60FPS with no frame drops. Halo 2 in the MCC for instance could only run at 60FPS at 1328X1080 resolution and even then it had bad frame rate drops. Halo 5’s new engine will scale resolution intelligently to keep the game running at 60FPS constantly.
So it doesn’t look like gummybears and fireworks anymore? Did during the beta and E3 footage…something up with the shaders that made it way too bland and cartoon-like. I wasn’t sure whether they changed that or not, as it looked distinctly less believable than Halo 4 did.
The aiming is fine, dead zones and aim acceleration included. About 50 matches in I realize now that with this game you have to adapt and practice. For about 45 of those matches I did terribly but what clicked was to work WITH the game and adapt to this new play style. Practice helps too of course.
An example: You all, myself included, must wonder how someone else killed you so quickly in addition to the fact that they went for the head.
Simple: adaptation and practice. Remember, controls wise we are all on the same level meaning EVERYONE has the same dead zones and aim acceleration. If that weren’t the case I would be furious too but all I ask is for other’s to give the game a chance because it truly is one of the best PvP games I’ve ever played.
Thanks for reading this and I’ll see you all in Arena !

I actually don’t have an issue with the aiming, although i have not played the MP for very long my SR is only at 5, but so far I’m ok with the aiming. Will see if i change my mind when i get more into the MP.

> Exactly!
Same here, I played a hand full of games during the beta and was in love with the new features they added. I get H5 installed and I at first chalk it up to the fact that I’ve not played Halo in a while…tonight I went back to H4 on the 360 for a bit…and I had NO trouble aiming at all…so
I understand where you are coming from, but at the same time I really do enjoy the aiming on this game. When I have a precision weapon I have no problems at all. I only seem to get this when I have the pistol. I have had good games with it and bad games so I can’t say that it isn’t the aiming and it could be human error as well.

Soon enough you’ll see issues fixed, find a new game, or just move past all this negativity and see positive aspects. Thanks to everyone in the community who contributed/noticed/reported/handled this issue. Wonderful job all!

Wow Eric. He goes on to say they hear our feedback and are more than welcome to change… umm NO the pro team spent months tweaking so no more lol They shouldn’t touch this game again unless they are outside the studio. 343 should just bring back the beta build for aiming and keep it away from the pros hands from now on. The pros can play it at home or when they go to their tournaments.
>
> It feels “squirrelly” at all ranges now soo… Not sure what he accomplished.
Cod is out now. If they don’t fix this halo community will dwindle down just like it always has. This game had hope. And it’s slowly fading away. Back to playing the same people over and over because the population will disappear
I love reading the “scrubs hate change” comments. Why change a core mechanic of a game that is functioning well and is accepted by everyone?
There is no reason. Just 343i sticking there -Yoink- into something they shouldn’t so they can put their own twist on it and look like they’ve done something productive.
Change the crap back. It was fine.
I believe in life we are giving things that are complicated or easy, either way we must bare with them, 343 industries is trying okay, bashing them wont help, also I have started my own Spartan Company,"HaloEnthusiast", hoping this helps publicize it, and looking for advid halo fans to play with!
