Well my friends, I'm done with this game's aiming

I dislike the aiming too.

Aiming is a little different but get used to it. I remember when halo 3 first came out and everyone hated it and worshiped halo 2. Then people got used to it and became the best halo to date. Get the -Yoink- over it cry babies!

And the dead zone, I get feedback from the slightest movements on Halo 5.

But Halo 5 seems to control the same as the others from my play-testing, and in fact shooting is easier in Halo 5 due to the increased frame rate. Perhaps there’s a subtle tick in the aiming that I’m just not feeling. But I wouldn’t have told anyone there was a problem with it. I was having issues with accuracy, but that was fixed by reducing my sensitivity to 3, (on Reach I played at 6 or 7.)

I use the controller that has a USB port and no headphone jack.

No problem here

I already told you what was going on… Obsiv has the data…

"The Halo community (XIM and controller gamers alike) have been talking about Halo 5’s surprise changes to how it aims. XIM’s Smart Translator system gives us an insight into how every game developer designs their aiming systems. I can tell you after studying the data that 343 has done a great disservice to the Halo community.

343 changed Halo aim by splitting the stick into 2 separate regions: aim and turn. They also chose this point seeming arbitrarily as well before maximum stick deflection. Meaning, any player that accidentally goes beyond this point (such as during the heat of a fire fight) will find their reticle jump. The speed gap between “aim” and “turn” is very large. Instead of moving towards a good example of an aiming system (i.e. CoD and BF), they went completely the other way.

Something as fundamental as aim should be customizable. There is no single solution for everyone (certainly not what they changed here). It is our hope that 343 will realize this mistake and fix their game."

This is exactly what has changed

He said that’s how they wanted the game to be. You know why? Because most of the Halo population is average and casual kids that love getting easy kills without having to adjust while shooting someone. If you like the new aiming system your blind to the fact that your bad, and you just like getting easy kills. No offense.

I’m 24 halo has been probably the most consistent thing in my life no games perfect but will I moan or stop playing no because it’s still my favorite game.

> Atleast you know its flawed. I heard the elite contoller can be configured to take away deadzones.

You heard wrong. Players with the elite controller said it’s even worse.

Actually, my problems with aiming were from my game latency, sounds strange but it’s true, ever since I fixed my latency by changing DNS, my aim is back to it’s old self. It’s a little harder to stay on target in close range (which I like from a weapon sandbox balance perspective) and I find it very hard to turn to get beatdowns for some reason, but other than that it feels ok to me.

Needs higher sensitivity options. Please stop defending a company that released a game with wonky–Yoink- aiming. Maybe it’s because I’m used to playing on PC, but taking 1.5 seconds to turn around is absolutely unacceptable in a FPS game. I shouldn’t having to be fumbling with the controller trying to aim.

This link provides an explanation and example image of the deadzone positions and stuff, showing exactly where 343 went wrong.

Personally enjoy the aim mechanics, its always been pretty tough with Halo.

Its not easy, the reticle for most weapons feels a bit smaller than halo 3. just play a different game

Just played a few games of SWAT and went back to theater to watch the kills I thought were strange. On most of them my reticle was at least two feet away from the enemy player and it seemed impossible to even come close to hitting them. The thing is even though my reticle wasn’t even close to being on the enemy the game counted it as a headshot, this should not be in the game I want a challenge and this takes everything challenging from it. Please stop favoring the noobs to help them out so much that it takes away from the game. Skills should be learned, NOT given out.

Personally the aiming doesn’t really matter to me since I’m on warzone the majority of the time.

So soon?

This is my literal only problem with the game. Maybe I should try to increase the sensitivity.

I don’t seem to have an issue. But, I haven’t played the older halo games in such a long time that I cant remember/feel the difference.

> I am NOT referring to smart link/ADS
> I am NOT referring to any bugs or glitches
> I am strictly referring to AIM ACCELERATION and DEADZONE(S) that are programmed into the game’s aiming mechanics.
>
> If you don’t understand what those are or don’t notice it, then you might not be at the level of play necessary to notice it. It is blatantly obvious. I noticed it within the first minute I played this game. I have put thousands of hours into every Halo game’s competitive multiplayer modes (team hardcore, MLG). I know what I am talking about. If you don’t notice this obvious difference between the aiming mechanics of Halo 5 vs EVERY OTHER HALO, then maybe you are just too casual of a player. I really don’t have any other explanation for how someone doesn’t notice it.
>
> If you don’t notice it, that’s fine, say so and move along. To all the trolls that say, “LOLZ this game has low aim assist, git gud scrub,” you are clearly oblivious to console fps aiming mechanics and are just a casual.

THIS, I agree 100 % to all things written above.

So glad I bought this used, lol, back to gamestop, full refund.
