It really just seems to be an acceleration in aim and for a series like Halo it isn’t easy to adjust too when aiming wasn’t really a big implement before. It’s a little harder, but as someone who has been playing since Halo 1 I still haven’t adjusted but it does take time. I’m beginning to get there and I’m sure you will too. It isn’t all that bad, just takes time and practice. Don’t let this keep you from playing this great game.
Sounds like you aren’t adaptable. Or you just can’t aim period. In other Halos it was all hip fire unless you had a marksman weapon. Halo 5 gives all guns ADS. Get use to it and stop whining please

Obviously you didn’t read properly I’ve been playing since I was ten since the first game I’m now 24 and have worked in IT most my life. I’m not a game designer I’ll freely admit that but I know when somethings a screw up and when it makes sense. I’ve read the info but do any of them actually know how the mechanic was changed in depth what actually went into it what was changed how it works with the rest of the game physics or anything else no they just rant because there wannabe game designers guessing about stuff they know little about. Maybe one or two posts from people that know what there talking about but again I don’t think it needs fixing. Read the rest of my post and go read a book I’ve been around since the beginning of this game and would certainly not class myself as brainless I doubt you know how to tear down and repair your console bit by bit. I’m ok with it as it is, but i made a few adjustments with the elite controller. If they change it, they do, and if they don’t, they don’t. Either way i’ll just end up getting used to whatever we end up with.

You seem to be addressing this neutrally.
the halo franchise used to be about balance that you with enough skill can beat any gun and everything used to have a counter weather its distance against a AR or close quarters to a BR kind of balance. I don’t mind change the addition of new but if you are going to change to something that is in my opinion much worse, keep in mind I’m a gen 2 player. But I guess that the options are pretty slim for someone who is a vet player to join in on this sprawling cod conversion.
Do something that everyone can agree on to create both a good campaign and have an excellent multiplayer

2 add a game mode
3 Nerf more
4 fix radar
5 add custom classes or Nerf pistol

I was a 50 what am I going to do upgrade to an elite console keep playing and not winge if they re tweak things again I’ll re adjust again and keep going and critiquing myself and working on my game play. I’m 24 halo has been probably the most consistent thing in my life no games perfect but will I moan or stop playing no because it’s still my favorite game.

Atleast you know its flawed. I heard the elite contoller can be configured to take away deadzones.
I’m not sure if this has been posted already, I wasn’t up to sorting through 79+ pages of posts on this. However here is an explanation as to why so many dislike the new Halo5 movement/aim from the creator of the XIM device, a mouse/keyboard console translator, through which he has unique insight into every console games aim mechanics, and well here is what he has to say concerning Halo 5
"The Halo community (XIM and controller gamers alike) have been talking about Halo 5’s surprise changes to how it aims. XIM’s Smart Translator system gives us an insight into how every game developer designs their aiming systems. I can tell you after studying the data that 343 has done a great disservice to the Halo community.
343 changed Halo aim by splitting the stick into 2 separate regions: aim and turn. They also chose this point seeming arbitrarily as well before maximum stick deflection. Meaning, any player that accidentally goes beyond this point (such as during the heat of a fire fight) will find their reticle jump. The speed gap between “aim” and “turn” is very large. Instead of moving towards a good example of an aiming system (i.e. CoD and BF), they went completely the other way.
Something as fundamental as aim should be customizable. There is no single solution for everyone (certainly not what they changed here). It is our hope that 343 will realize this mistake and fix their game." - Obsiv
I apologize to those who think I wasn’t transparent in what the problem is. I have updated the original post at the top to clarify what is wrong, but here is what I have added, since some of you are still confused or think I am talking about something else.
I am NOT referring to aim assist
I am NOT referring to smart link/ADS
I am NOT referring to any bugs or glitches
I am strictly referring to AIM ACCELERATION and DEADZONE(S) that are programmed into the game’s aiming mechanics.
If you don’t understand what those are or don’t notice it, then you might not be at the level of play necessary to notice it. It is blatantly obvious. I noticed it within the first minute I played this game. I have put thousands of hours into every Halo game’s competitive multiplayer modes (team hardcore, MLG). I know what I am talking about. If you don’t notice this obvious difference between the aiming mechanics of Halo 5 vs EVERY OTHER HALO, then maybe you are just too casual of a player. I really don’t have any other explanation for how someone doesn’t notice it.
If you don’t notice it, that’s fine, say so and move along. To all the trolls that say, “LOLZ this game has low aim assist, git gud scrub,” you are clearly oblivious to console fps aiming mechanics and are just a casual.
