Well my friends, I'm done with this game's aiming

when i first signed into halo 5 it was SOOOOO hard to aim. but i love it! do you guys not like to be challenged? and if ur a casual gamer like me than u probably got put into a worst league of other people that are not very good at aiming right now also. i dont understand how so many people can complain? You guys feel like you are missing out on kills because of the aim but you have to realize your also missing out on a lot of deaths because of other peoples aim. Every1 is being challenged by the aim which is what makes this game so fun. I love when someone sneeks up behind me and im able to turn around and get a reversal perfect! its way more rewarding than constantly 4 shotting every1 with a BR.

If you’re Onyx why the hell are you complaining about the aiming?

Wow. Good KD. Give it a bit of time. Don’t leave just yet. Play something else in the meantime. I’m sure with the communities push to have it fixed that 343 will address it soon enough.

I dont like the aim but I cant say why.
It might be lag.
I dont know why they made it so much harder to aim.
I wonder what they thought cause Halo used to be for all gamers its the flag of Xbox.
If they make it too hard less people will play it.
They need to change something about the aiming I think.

Horizontal aiming is too fast when leaving the aim-assist radius - it’s as simple as that. People can defend it all they want, but console fps games need to have equal aiming speeds on both axes and no deadzones. This isn’t a PC game, but it handles as if you’ve plugged a controller into your PC to play a game designed for keyboard & mouse. I don’t care what pros think is best, it’s not a PC game - the deadzones and sporadic axes speeds aren’t good for casuals or pros - they’re counterintuitive. This isn’t a case of 'get used to it’, that so many idiots keep saying, it’s simple design flaws. At least let us disable the unequal axes speeds if we want to. 343, the beta had far better aiming than this - it rewarded accuracy over being able to fight the controls. This is an incredible game, but the horizontal aiming speed spikes and lack of EU servers really ruin it.

double post

tripple post wtf

Yes it needs to be changed back to how it was during the beta. I’m trying so hard to enjoy this game and I WANT to play it, I haven’t felt this way about Halo sinse Halo 1. I just want to play but this new aim mechanic or whatever it is, that was just randomly thrown at us and forced onto us, is just completely killing it for me.

It feels sluggish, I try increasing the sensitivity from my sensitivity I used while playing ALL 5 OF THE PAST HALOs FROM 5 to 7 but that barely even mitigates the problem. When my aim gets close to some one- the auto aim kicks in and it just feels like I can’t even move my crosshair.

I just hope it gets changed back to how it was during the beta. Or at least give us the option. You would think this would be something testing during the beta…

Ghostayame. You have failed us.

Yeah, it’s overall wonky as hell. I want to play this game more than any other game right now, but I’m staying on MCC unless 343 allows us the option to choose classic Halo aiming mechanics. The aiming in this game feels like a bad console port of a pc game. The aiming mechanics remind me of The Orange Box or Far Cry Predator on 360. It’s that bad. Seriously, go try those games. The aiming feels just as bad as those. Anyways, I hope they fix it because I would love to come back.

They needed an update to patch this at launch. I haven’t experienced aim mechanics this bad in an FPS since Fallout 3. Anybody that has played Fallout 3 without using VATS will know how awful it was. It’s honestly sad that we need to have 343 fix the aiming mechanics when every single Halo before this has got it right. This isn’t rocket science

Same here, my friend. It would be nice if people weren’t so nasty and would just be respectful when discussing it. There’s hundreds of people saying how much they dislike it, but they blindly defend it when there’s clearly a problem.

Lol yeah, aiming and shooting in Fallout 3 is a complete joke without VATS. The aiming in this is so unacceptable for a Halo game. I mean, we’re talking about freaking Halo and bad aiming mechanics in the same sentence. We just need to keep speaking up about this everyday until they tell us they are releasing an option for classic Halo controls.

Lol at “broken game”. I mean do people seriously now a days think ONE feature breaks a game? Lol wtf people.

I played destiny a ton too over the past few years and the aiming in halo 5 feels just fine to me. If we can feel okay coming from destiny, I wonder what everyone else is hung up on

I’m super confused on what people don’t like about the aiming in this game, because there is pretty much zero aim assist? Yeah, it’s more of a challenge but not sure what you mean when you describe the aiming as feeling “wonky” I put my reticule on a dudes head and pull the trigger and bam the shot hits him in the head, I miss my reticule to the right or left and bam the shot misses, simple as that. I would mess with the sensitivity if you’re having issues.

The aim is fine for me. I feel good when I get a headshot, cause it was earned. I don’t understand the logic of wanting easy aiming, do you want to die at the hands of noobs?

I also dont think halo 5 is crappy at all. I have been a halo fan from the start, and I can confidently say the gameplay ranks up there as one of the best for me, but, to each their own.

> I keep hoping this is just a bad dream and that I’ll wake up from it, but it’s real. The aiming is garbage. I still have not gotten used to it. It’s just awful. I know I don’t need to go into detail about how bad these aiming mechanics are, because so many other people have expressed what’s wrong, but it’s nothing like any Halo before it. Why change what was NEVER wrong with Halo? Every game in MCC feels amazing, as far as aiming is concerned. Going back and forth between different Halo games on there is effortless and I’m always confident that my shot will be on. This game is just wonky as hell. I can’t even begin to express my disappointment with the aiming mechanics. I really hope they listen to us and make this game feel like EVERY game before it. And not just a little deadzone tweaking or accel tweaking…it needs a 100% revert back to how we all know Halo is supposed to feel. It’s just not a fun game. I gave it a legitimate chance after 23 hours of play, but it’s still bad. There’s just no getting used to the aiming in this game. So much potential…damn…

I didn’t know that there was a “problem” with the aiming until I came to the forums. I’ve had issues in past Halo games; it’d be perfect shots and then when their shield is off the aim assist starts going bat-doo-doo crazy and I actually lose. I got mad but whatever, no game is perfect. I’ve been playing MP on Halo since H2 and I don’t see why this is such a huge problem for people. With stats like yours I don’t get what your deal is…obviously you’re not dying all that much to get so angry.

Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

Can aim at all still :frowning: #pclife… really hoping Microsoft allows keyboard/mouse soon. Just can’t do controllers. Acceleration and dead zones don’t help the situation either

Lol, I have disagree, while fallout 3 pretty bad, I absolutely believe it was marginally better. It was at least more predictable, didn’t have acceleration, and massive dead zones.
