It takes time getting used to. I had the same frustrations at first but if you be patient you’ll get used to it, and I’ve actually come to prefer Halo 5 aiming. Especially with the pistol, you can’t just spray your shots you have to be relatively patient with your fire rate. If your sight feels too slow, turn up your sensitivity a little. Also, the multiplayer (especially arena) was built to be competitive, so even things like the aiming requires skill and lots of patient practice, but once you get the hang of it you’ll realize it’s a great system.

You can’t assume everyone plays the same as the pros. It’s an unbelievably flawed assumption. There are people who are slow and calculated. People who like to run gun. People who like to go CQC and melee a lot. People who love snipers and people who hate them. There is no unified way to play this game and attempting to force one style of play on everyone kills variety or - in this case - ends up annoying a lot o

So you’re just going to give up because it is a tad more challenging? Give it more time before you throw it was so quickly!
I guess some people can’t play without “aim assist” in FPS. I never use aim assist personally find the concept ironic when you are trying to “aim” a gun. The only beef I have (and its me having a bad habit) is the “B” button for dash and “R3 joystick” for crouch, I’m too use to Destiny when I press “B” to sneak up on someone. LoL
Hey, well, at least everyone is on the same grounds. I think we should stop whining. That’s a good idea…nobody cares “who’s done,” and “who’s not.” We just care that there are people to play when we sign in.

This isn’t what’s being talked about.

I know I don’t need to go into detail about how bad these aiming mechanics are, because so many other people have expressed what’s wrong, but it’s nothing like any Halo before it. Why change what was NEVER wrong with Halo? Every game in MCC feels amazing, as far as aiming is concerned. Going back and forth between different Halo games on there is effortless and I’m always confident that my shot will be on. This game is just wonky as hell. I can’t even begin to express my disappointment with the aiming mechanics. I really hope they listen to us and make this game feel like EVERY game before it. And not just a little deadzone tweaking or accel tweaking…it needs a 100% revert back to how we all know Halo is supposed to feel. It’s just not a fun game. I gave it a legitimate chance after 23 hours of play, but it’s still bad. There’s just no getting used to the aiming in this game. So much potential…damn…
> >
> >
> > I get these are problems, but we don’t know how they got there. This dead zone thing seems to be either a lapse of judgement or just the devs overlooking something ( or maybe even a bug, but that is a slight chance). Regardless, this will probably be patched soon. You might want to check back with Halo 5 every so often to see if it’s fixed. After 40+ hours I am now just getting used to the aiming (even though it was still never a huge hindering factor in my playtime, I always still did pretty well, but I know I’m in a very small minority). My point is, we are only a WEEK into the game. Halo 3’s trash net code wasn’t fixed within a week and people still glorify it as the best Halo MP of all time. This is a minor problem compared to H3, we just need to be patient for the fixes. That doesn’t justify the problems but what we also need to understand is that patches don’t come out by the day.

Now I didn’t get the best grades in math when I was in school but I am fairly certain that that is 70% of the people polled claim there is a problem with the aiming. So again, how is it that you are so certain the majority of players are happy with the aiming?

This isn’t in our heads, these are not excuses, and for the last time THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH AIM ASSIST! The aiming is in fact (and I do stress FACT) broken. It has been proven by countless people at this point! Read the forums! Google it! Watch the Youtube videos! There is proof out there, no one is making this up. 343 has even acknowledged to some degree (despite that they are blaming it on some controllers) and have said that they will be addressing the issue.

It’s difficult to trust polls around here for fear of a thing called “Confirmation Bias,” the idea that people who have a set opinion will include themselves in a statistic, skewing the results. If you have something to say about the aiming, or are flooding to the Halo 5 forums because a new Halo is out (like you did) then chances are you’ll take part in that poll but you are in no way indicative of the overall opinion of the playerbase.
>
> Also, various polls of exactly that description on this site proved that people hated armor abilities before launch, and that Sprint was the work of the devil, according to the community. I know. I can remember things.

I’m not the one who bought up the poll I just posted it because what was stated to me was incorrect and if the poll is based on the players… die hard or not, then how can it not even be close to accurate since they are the ones who are playing it. In that same case i could say, since I have seen just as many post of people saying there is nothing wrong with it the majority is in my favor and you saying it’s broke are the minority. I could also state trusting polls stating it was broke was put in place by haters so the bias there would also confirm my (and i state) opinion that the aiming is fine.
Here’s the facts. I have heard about the aiming issues and bullet magnetism since Halo 2. It’s the same thing over and over. There is nothing new posted from game to game. So if you don’t like it leave stop crying. If you don’t want to leave suck it up and play. I can understand posting I see some issues (make a list, describe why, debate it then move on) The games been out how long 10 days. Everyone who played the Beta or did any research on the game knew it was changing. The fact is, they don’t want it to improve (better word evolve) so they pick it apart complaining this isn’t halo. To compare look at COD from one it first cam out till now. The same people complain about the same things. Suck it up, keep playing and get better.
If you are against an auto rifle or suppressor you CANT aim!
Haters gonna hate. Give it a try for a few days, then start crying
I’m gonna just say this. Is might not look like it but this is a neutral post, I’m not necessarily agreeing with or disagreeing with the aiming (although I personally don’t notice anything)
Humans are amazing. We learned how how to play an entire complicated and coordinated sport using only our feet. We learned how to compensate for wind, air resistance, and the very rotation of the earth to effectively shoot and hit targets up to a mile away. And yet people try to say they absolutely cannot learn how to play with halo 5s aiming. It sounds more like “I don’t want to have to learn”. And you some degree yes maybe you shouldn’t have to, but personally I don’t want all of my FPS games to be the same, I like some variety in my games. and for those saying “it’s fundamentally broken” I ask, says who? Techniques are made by people and just agreed by people to work but that doesn’t mean other methods can be just as effective or better. It’s arbitrary. I can say the current way quarterbacks in American football are taught to throw is fundamentally broken and there is a much better way to do it and you can’t really argue with me be because it has changed over the years and could change again. Or I could be wrong and maybe we really have found the best technique already. For all we know 343 has stumbled upon the next evolution of aiming and we just don’t know it. Or maybe they tried and failed, either way give them a chance. Either to show us how good their aiming system is or to fix their mistake
Just remember if you get shot you are screwed with aiming!
If you don’t like using the LT button for aiming then use the handy tool they made for changing the stick/ button layout. You can easily just change it back to Halo 4 or Halo Reach’s aiming style. The only difference is that you will still have the HUD, which is actually pretty nice. Honestly, people need to realize that this is not Bungie. 343 sees Halo in their own way and can do with it what they please. The cool thing about it is that 343 still allows us to change thing like controls back to the way they were before they bought the franchise. Now I am not saying the game is perfect, but it is a lot better then you people give it credit for. They are doing a great job and deserve our respect. Not every company could fill Bungie’s over sized shoes and still have a good fan base. They are moving mountains for us to make Halo their own thing and while making it likable for us. Honestly if you can’t except that and stick with the game then I don’t think you were ever a real Halo fan.

Thanks for taking the time to look up my stats. Obviously you didn’t look close enough to see that I have only played 6 games on this account so the sample size isn’t exactly large enough for you to draw any conclusions.
Not sure why stats are relevant here but for the record (and for the ego inside who feels like it needs to defend itself), I have not been playing on this account so the stats you’re seeing are relatively meaningless. Halo 2 & 3 were the games I really put time into (because those were the last really great Halo MP games) with a different Xbox live account. Halo 4 I played on this account, it’s the only somewhat accurate representation of my ability from those stats. As far as this current installment is concerned, if you will notice, I haven’t even qualified yet! Why is that? Because the aim felt so off to me that I cashed in my 14 day free trail and took the time to start a practice account so as to not ruin my stats/rankings. The aim is so broken at this point that I didn’t want to play on my primary account until it’s fixed. If it’s not fixed by the time my trail runs out I will probably return the game.
And as far as the poll is concerned, that is a different one that is up now, but regardless, even if 55% don’t have a problem and 45% do, you think that’s ok? You really think there is nothing wrong with releasing a shooter, who’s most important mechanic is aiming, and having 45% of the people polled think there is a problem with it? That’s not cool. I have never heard anyone ever complain about aiming before. Even if the poll is inaccurate and the real percentage was 20% of players have a problem with aiming, that is A MAJOR PROBLEM! NO ONE SHOULD THINK THE AIMING IS BROKEN!
But it’s cool, you don’t notice a problem, so there must not be one.

I’m confused. Did I miss a post and someone is complaining about the LT for aiming or are you misunderstanding what people are talking about?
I have to agree. 343 needs to get rid of the current sensitivity system and make it how it was in all the other Halo games. This was a very bad idea.
