Well my friends, I'm done with this game's aiming

It amazes me how you think people only complain because they ‘can’t aim’.

I saw some valid points being made in this thread by people who’ve played the series for a long time who have a hard time accepting the game to be Halo ‘because it looks like Halo’.

Dont forget that you also are ranked at a high level so that also makes it harder on you so just because you feel like your aiming bad, the others players are probably aiming better than or just playing at your skill rank. I hate that they dont have a good aim assist but i guess it all goes back to how good are you with out the assist? I played halo 5 for a bit and then went back to 4 and i was significantly better. If you can get better now on your aiming, imagine how better you will become.

You can’t assume everyone plays the same as the pros. It’s an unbelievably flawed assumption. There are people who are slow and calculated. People who like to run gun. People who like to go CQC and melee a lot. People who love snipers and people who hate them. There is no unified way to play this game and attempting to force one style of play on everyone kills variety or - in this case - ends up annoying a lot of people.”

Agreed.

yeah me either, the aim does seem vastly different from previous halo games, but its just like a new trick or play, you have to memorize it and move on! im sure there were many people who didn’t like how the previous aiming was and ill guess that’s because they were cod players, but with out starting a thousand arguments there, ill just say “they wanted to give it a new feel to see if it accommodated the other players who didn’t like the old feel”. the people at 343i are only human, remember that and its impossible to please everybody! if you don’t like the game then move on, if you want to get better at it, take the proper time to do so! 23hrs isn’t enough time to train a horse and isn’t enough time to say forsure this game is trash! waits for kids to argue and find fault with this statement

Dude.

Bungie started that. It’s a good idea.

Go home.

Again… Nobody is complaining about aim assist. Holy -Yoink-.

> Hasn’t halo always been that way…

Yup, pretty sure it has been.

I dont use the aiming only for snipers and soped weapons BR, DMR ect. I dont use it for SMG or ASSAULT RIFLES ect, I just play it like old halo games its optional. I dont like the new button to crouch and I changed my contols to halo 4 but that screws up my dash button not used to it. And the grenade button is annoying coz I keep catching it by mistake.

The aiming takes a long time to get use to, it’s for players that don’t like aim assists in their fps, its aimed for pros. And with that in mind if you play more “competitively”; in my experience, I usually have a better time with the aim. Casual players will have to adjust, which is ok. This games multiplayer was made to return to Halo’s competitive days. I had a friend play Halo 2 for the first time, and he said he couldn’t stand the aim, and I understand the frustration, his first Halo was Halo 3; which plays differently in many ways. Its just another addition to the franchise that people need time to adjust to.

I’m having a difficult time adjusting but it’s the same as jumping between all the shooter games. You just have to adjust to that games quirks. I’m still enjoying it even if I’m sucking a bit.h

I know it may be weird and different, but the thing is, with Microsoft and Bungie with the Xbox one, they are all trying new things. I like to think that the Xbox one is a big test experiment.

> I keep hoping this is just a bad dream and that I’ll wake up from it, but it’s real. The aiming is garbage. I still have not gotten used to it. It’s just awful. I know I don’t need to go into detail about how bad these aiming mechanics are, because so many other people have expressed what’s wrong, but it’s nothing like any Halo before it. Why change what was NEVER wrong with Halo? Every game in MCC feels amazing, as far as aiming is concerned. Going back and forth between different Halo games on there is effortless and I’m always confident that my shot will be on. This game is just wonky as hell. I can’t even begin to express my disappointment with the aiming mechanics. I really hope they listen to us and make this game feel like EVERY game before it. And not just a little deadzone tweaking or accel tweaking…it needs a 100% revert back to how we all know Halo is supposed to feel. It’s just not a fun game. I gave it a legitimate chance after 23 hours of play, but it’s still bad. There’s just no getting used to the aiming in this game. So much potential…damn…

I get these are problems, but we don’t know how they got there. This dead zone thing seems to be either a lapse of judgement or just the devs overlooking something ( or maybe even a bug, but that is a slight chance). Regardless, this will probably be patched soon. You might want to check back with Halo 5 every so often to see if it’s fixed. After 40+ hours I am now just getting used to the aiming (even though it was still never a huge hindering factor in my playtime, I always still did pretty well, but I know I’m in a very small minority). My point is, we are only a WEEK into the game. Halo 3’s trash net code wasn’t fixed within a week and people still glorify it as the best Halo MP of all time. This is a minor problem compared to H3, we just need to be patient for the fixes. That doesn’t justify the problems but what we also need to understand is that patches don’t come out by the day.

I hear what people are saying, but I just haven’t noticed it affect my aiming that much.

I have played every Halo game to death and I noticed that the acceleration is a little slow at first but it just hasn’t affected me that much in the end. Mind you I do a lot of my aiming with the left analog stick if that makes sense.

We know why. 343 straight up told us why.

Why don’t they make it right before the games out
