It seems the issue could actually be an issue with the controllers

> Lets get one thing straight here. Just because there are people who dont like the aiming, yourself included, does not mean that the aiming is broken. And I hate to break it to you, but you are in the minority with this one. The people that like the aiming out number those who dont. By a fairly large percentage too. So when you say something like “I hope they listen to us and make it like every halo before it”, just know that you are saying that 343 should cater to the wishes of a small percentage of people who want it changed, and then piss off the larger group who like it how is. Which is bat s*** crazy. I mean get real.
Let’s get one thing straight here, you don’t know what you’re talking about. First off, do you have any legitimate source to show that the majority of people like the aiming? Or is it just you and the peeps on your friends list who you consider to be the majority?
Early this week there was a poll on these forums that asked if there was a problem with the aiming. The 3 choices were yes, no, and I’m not having trouble but I acknowledge there is a problem. I am fairly certain that the poll eventually got removed however the last I saw, the results were: yes 50%, no 30%, and 20% for those not having a problem but still acknowledging there is an issue that should be fixed. Now I didn’t get the best grades in math when I was in school but I am fairly certain that that is 70% of the people polled claim there is a problem with the aiming. So again, how is it that you are so certain the majority of players are happy with the aiming?
Now, it’s okay if you’re not noticing a problem with the aiming, that’s great, good for you. But a lot of people are and this isn’t just people complaining about not being good at the game. This isn’t in our heads, these are not excuses, and for the last time THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH AIM ASSIST! The aiming is in fact (and I do stress FACT) broken. It has been proven by countless people at this point! Read the forums! Google it! Watch the Youtube videos! There is proof out there, no one is making this up. 343 has even acknowledged to some degree (despite that they are blaming it on some controllers) and have said that they will be addressing the issue.
Bottom line, to everyone who doesn’t notice a problem, that doesn’t mean there isn’t one. To everyone who thinks this is an issue about aim assist, it’s not. And for all those players who are saying they have gotten used to it, so have I for the most part but that doesn’t mean it still shouldn’t be fixed. You shouldn’t be expected to get used to a broken aiming mechanic. What happens when you want to go play a different shooter that has smooth and precise aiming? Now you suck at that and you have to re-train yourself all over again. We shouldn’t have to get used to it, they should fix it. And I am fairly certain they will because of the proof out there that it is indeed a problem.
I was a little surprised he said it’s effortless between games on MCC. Aiming is completely different between halo 3 and any other on that game.
I’m a fan of the new aiming system. The challenge is definitely better IMO. And honestly… It’s not even that much harder to me.
Hi
Basically I wish I didn’t notice a problem with the aiming, it makes me sad to play but I push through in the hopes that I will magically get use to someday soon. I read this morning that some issues are tied to certain controllers and 343 is issuing an update but I doubt this will make it feel right for me. I keep changing sensitivites and its maddening, one game I’m at 3 and the next 4 and the next 6 and then back to 4…or maybe I just suck because I’ve been gaming on my PC for the last few months. Nah it needs some fixing and I have my hopes it will be

The only thing I’m even going to reply on this is. Get your facts straight. Do a search and read the post. Their are just as many people commenting that their is nothing wrong with the aiming as their are criers like you. Check out their stats. Much better then yours and they think its fine. So back to my point stop crying and play the game or get the hell off and let us enjoy it. As for your poll https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/forums/6e35355aecdf4fd0acdaee3cc4156fd4/topics/aiming/bbedd88a-f6ae-4d54-b3dc-f062f2e80cf5/posts?page=1
55% says there is no problem. So check your sources crybaby/
Ive noticed it too, hope it becomes much more fluid or everyone is gonna switch to BO3.
Am I the only one that has no idea what everyone is talking about? Haha

What makes you think you think that “working with it” will make you any better than the players who are already better than you? If they’re complaining and struggling, chances are you won’t ever improve.
>

> Because i have improved. A lot. I’m not claiming to be a MLG or Halo god. But in the week it’s come out my stats and speed has improved a lot. My K/d is getting higher and now I’m almost always + on K/D. 3 days ago I was .058? k/d. Now .792. In 3 days. In another 3 days I maybe in the +'s. Point being instead of crying about it work with it. Your going to pick up a game and expect it to not evolve or change this or that. The so called “dead zone” is on older controllers. I have see people on here with K/D on here of 8.24 who say it’s perfectly fine. I talk to them and they gave me hints. So it goes back to whiners.
I appreciate your dedication to the game but this aiming system is just poor beyond repair for players like me. The aiming is impossible to adjust to by its very nature. There are two regions on the right stick: aim and turn. The aim speed jumps at a certain point on the stick when it crosses an arbitrary threshold between those zones. Since every engagement in Arena is different depending on a range of factors, you are always at risk of entering the ‘turn’ zone on the right stick - and if you do enter that zone, you won’t be able to aim with reliability. Fact. It’s not an issue of adapting, it’s an issue that they have created a system where they are saying “in these circumstances, we’ve made it so you basically lose complete control of your reticle”. It’s garbage.
The other truth is this: if players don’t feel empowered in a game, they won’t continue to play it. The reason Call of Duty and Destiny are so successful is that they empower players to get kills and make it enjoyable for everyone at any level. They understand that aiming is difficult using an analogue stick and make it fun to snap onto targets. Halo 5 deliberately takes away empowerment over aiming. For that reason, I guarantee people won’t continue to play it. This game will die very, very quickly, believe me.

Yhh it’s bad this time the sensitivity is rubbish
I agree the aiming function of when you get shot you stop aiming it sucks just let us aim for Christ sake. Bungie please come back
Need to fix ASAP

This actually is intended because this ised to be a complaint in earlier games, I am fine with this as it makes BR 1v1 tense again.

Hasn’t halo always been that way…
It amazes me how many people are complaining on here just cuz they can’t learn to aim. It’s not that hard guys. This is probably one of the best games to come out. I actually have a reason to play my xbox one again.
Here’s a great comment from Youtube that sums it up for me:
“By building an acceleration curve that is aligned to a very specific play style, it assumes EVERYONE plays the game in the exact same way. They don’t. This is the biggest issue with it. You can’t assume everyone plays the same as the pros. It’s an unbelievably flawed assumption. There are people who are slow and calculated. People who like to run gun. People who like to go CQC and melee a lot. People who love snipers and people who hate them. There is no unified way to play this game and attempting to force one style of play on everyone kills variety or - in this case - ends up annoying a lot of people.”

He is not alone. There are many other issues that havent been addresed either. Check the support forum. No one should be surprised when the player nase for halo dies off. Postponing parts of the game just makes me want to trade this in and buy it in a few months after its actually released.

Agreed. 100%. Play Halo 5 and then go back to mcc and play an older halo, you won’t hit -Yoink-. AND. if you run around with automatic weapons then obviously you won’t notice anything. Play some arena. It feels like there’s an input lag. just make an option to turn it off. Because the -Yoink- is terrible. Saying this I have gotten semi use to it. But it doesn’t mean that it’s not broken. I choose to keep playing because I love halo. But that’s not the case for the majority of gamers. We need EVERYBODY to play this game and support it. Not just the diehard fans. Anybody should be able to pick it up and play or we will lose our community

44% is up from 343’s official 11% that disliked the game before launch. Almost half the player’s don’t like it, according to you. That’s rough.
Except, it isn’t half. It’s difficult to trust polls around here for fear of a thing called “Confirmation Bias,” the idea that people who have a set opinion will include themselves in a statistic, skewing the results. If you have something to say about the aiming, or are flooding to the Halo 5 forums because a new Halo is out (like you did) then chances are you’ll take part in that poll but you are in no way indicative of the overall opinion of the playerbase.
Also, various polls of exactly that description on this site proved that people hated armor abilities before launch, and that Sprint was the work of the devil, according to the community. I know. I can remember things.
You’re move, Marine - Iron.
