Why should we work hard to enjoy something we paid for. A large majority of people don’t want to become Halo Pros. They want to kick back and have fun with a couple of their friends, myself included.
(from the point of view of the average gamer) I’m not going to put hours upon hours into a game to learn it’s mechanics, not enjoying the process along the way. It’s not my job. I’m just going to pick up Star Wars Battlefront or CoD and ditch this game.
343i made Halo 4 too casual, now they’ve made this game too competitive, and I predict similar results in populations of both. There is a happy medium in there somewhere, they are just incapable of finding it.

For me the game is already great!
So let me get this right… If you can’t make a game work for you it’s “bad and its ruined the franchise, the worst halo ever!!!”
But when they change it to all the complainers “ideal” sensitivities (heavy aim assist needed I strongly suspect) it becomes "**A GREAT GAME!! ).**Don’t get your way, cry and make as much noise as possible to get what you want.
Get your way and its big happy smiles!
That’s sounds to me like the very definition of a spoilt brat to be honest.
I don’t mean to be harsh on the halo forums but the shear amount of negativity on these forums is unbelievable.
343i has made an absolute great halo and people can’t see that because of their selfishness on how they can’t be bothered to learn how to be good on this sensitivity. Its not that difficult to learn and get used to it, its not like trying to split the atom for goodness sake. There’s lots of people, me included that think the sensitivity if FINE.
Those cry babyies are the people who could potentially be the downfall of halo just because they’re lazy and won’t play the game.

EDIT. You don’t have to be a pro to enjoy a game, plus there’s already a game mode (warzone) that’s for casuals. You don’t have to be a dead eye accuracy killing machine to be most mvp. Theres so many power vehicles and weapons on warzone that a good player can struggle more often than not.
That’s my point, people who don’t care about being good don’t bother shouting it to the world (which is the majority like you) but the ones that clearly do want to be competitive are putting so much negativity on the forums about this sensitivity.
Also if you think CoD isn’t competitive, then Faze and all them Esport CoD crews aren’t as good as I thought CoD is definitely a competitive game.

CoD is not a competitive game. If you can play a shooter you can play CoD. I’m tired of people bringing up the stupid esports argument. I should go and make a CoD team and join in. It isn’t skillful in any sort of way, compare that to Halo 5, which IS a skillful and competitive game.

I agree. I am having a horrible time adjusting but the game is awesome. I just have to keep playing and adapt.
I agree with you op the aiming sucks idk how I managed it I’m in diond rank 1 my kda sucks and it feels so much like call of duty I hate the br being a one round shot rather then three round burst and he’ll the aiming -Yoink- sucksspartan abilities are fine as well as power ups but Jesus

> This is what it sounds like. A tough game was made even tougher and years of “skill” development in aiming has to be re-learned/adjusted. Too big a skill gap would be an obvious problem in a product that needs to appeal to more than those in the Champion ranks. My aim always sucks, so I wouldn’t know.
This - “Too big a skill gap would be an obvious problem in a product that needs to appeal to more than those in the Champion ranks” This why I don’t understand why they would change it from 4. Like Halo 4 or not, the aiming ,running and jumping was dead on and a very low learning curve. Its nothing for me to do a complete 180 and headshot someone with a BR. That definitely is not happening in H5. Just my opinion, But I would think making it easy or the same from prior games would draw in more people not less. The more the better. Pros will be pros no matter what level of difficulty there is. For that reason, I don’t understand the hate the aim assist gets. It the same for everybody. but it does level the field some making the game more accessible to a bigger audience. Like COD or HATE COD, their aiming mechanics are spot on.
BTW, I’m adapting. I’m just concerned that it is and will run people away from the game.

> I keep hoping this is just a bad dream and that I’ll wake up from it, but it’s real. The aiming is garbage. I still have not gotten used to it. It’s just awful. I know I don’t need to go into detail about how bad these aiming mechanics are, because so many other people have expressed what’s wrong, but it’s nothing like any Halo before it. Why change what was NEVER wrong with Halo? Every game in MCC feels amazing, as far as aiming is concerned. Going back and forth between different Halo games on there is effortless and I’m always confident that my shot will be on. This game is just wonky as hell. I can’t even begin to express my disappointment with the aiming mechanics. I really hope they listen to us and make this game feel like EVERY game before it. And not just a little deadzone tweaking or accel tweaking…it needs a 100% revert back to how we all know Halo is supposed to feel. It’s just not a fun game. I gave it a legitimate chance after 23 hours of play, but it’s still bad. There’s just no getting used to the aiming in this game. So much potential…damn…
Onyx FFA nice. But yeah. I’m in same boat. Agree with everything you said. 100% confident in my aim with the games in MCC. Come over to Halo 5 and IDK what happened. I’m pretty spot on with my aiming in all Halo games and I’m well aware when I do miss a shot, and I know it (and i can beat myself up about it lol) but I just can’t blame myself in this game because I know what it should feel like and it just doesn’t feel right. I’m confident they’ll fix it but it’s just a matter of when and will it actually be “fixed”.

Remember when people said the same thing when Halo 4 came out and then everyone did just that and the game died in less than a year, remember that? Yeah well Halo 5 will have the same outcome if they don’t fix the aiming & the radar, they made Halo 4 too casual with stupid drops & now they have made Halo 5 for a small minority of competitive gamers and alienated the casuals making the aiming ridiculous for no good reason. You want aim acceleration cause it’s better for the the pros then make it able to toggle on and off don’t force everyone to adjust when we’ve been playing Halo so long with same way for over 10 years. Want to make radar useless for pros, well good thing you have custom games that pros will play to turn that off anyway, why ruin the game for the majority who give you sales to appease the minority? That’s bad business and if things aren’t changed people will do exactly as you said and trade this game in and forget about it, then people like you will be like “what happened to all the players? Remember when Halo games use to have lots of players?”.
Let’s not forget starting Friday a huge sum of the players will already disappear for the new Call of Duty followed by more leaving for Star Wars next week, 343 shouldn’t of changed things to alienate so many past casuals for such a small group of competitive gamers and I have a feeling the community as a whole will pay for it if they don’t fix it immediately. The beta played so great and they -Yoinking!- ruined it with unnecessary changes.

Give people options on controls. Huge deadzones aren’t comfortable. Most that dislike the large deadzones aren’t saying that the game is bad. Many actually like it and just want to be more comfortable while playing the game they enjoy.

Do you understand a lot of the pros are complaining about the aiming? Go watch all the famous streamers like ninja, ogre 2, royal 2,…etc. Ninja even changes is sens on daily bases. He still does good. Some of the pros say “the aiming feels heavy.” The other pros says “the aiming though.” The only difference is some of us are actually speaking about the issue on forums. No body is whinging about how good we are. we just want a smooth aiming mechanics on the x,y and diagonal axis. I have currently stopped playing. I will be back on once this is fixed. I ONLY play halo, so for me its a bummer. BTW, the aiming on the previous halos were easier, but the mechanism was much smoother, thats what i want back!!!
People aren’t complaining because the lack of aim assist. It’s literally difficult to just move the reticule around because of the messed up acceleration.
For people saying it’s fine, go into a custom game by yourself. Aim at a wall. Now try to move your reticule in a circle. Notice how it feels like you are fighting your controller?
I have a issue with this aiming also. I’m a huge halo fan have been since halo 2 on Xbox. It makes me sad that every time I just wanna relax and play halo 5 I can’t because it’s so damn hard to do something as simple as aiming. I’m not asking 343i to give everything to everybody but I do believe that something as important as aiming in a FPS shouldn’t be messed with like this. I’m not a pro player and I have no intentions of being a pro player. So I guess if 343i doesn’t want people like me to play the game then I’ll just move on. I’ll give them some time to fix this issue and I hope they listen to their community. If they don’t fix it then at least I’ll know they don’t give a -Yoink- anymore and I’ll stop buying their games. Sad but true, people like me can’t afford games left and right so I have to pick and choose.
