Get used to the Halo 5 aim mechanic honestly go right ahead and follow the blind, but when you transfer over to another FPS I have no sympathy for you as you have no sympathy for those who actually recognize a broken aim mechanic. One of two things will happen. 1) you open your eyes and realize wow this feels amazingly smooth and i can aim so much better or 2) You will absolutely be horrible for the first couple weeks and get you -Yoink- kicked left and right till you get used to a normal mechanic… Have fun either way

Notice it’s only the people who depend on thee previous aim to win that are complaining? Boo hoo. Go play Destiny. There are more important things to fix, like the radar distance being too short. If I could only change one thing, that’s what I’d fix. Once you see a dot behind you, it’s too late. Ive avoided being hit from behind like once out of hundreds. Can’t ninja either. Fix it or take it out.
Yeah, so if you want the game to aim for you, play something else.
During the beta I never heard anyone complain about the aiming. I never heard anyone complain about the radar. The only two things the majority complained about was the AR being completely OP and the grenades being OP… and of course some bugs but no biggie.
Now at launch the AR has been nerfed but the range increased The grenades are still a bit much. The radar is completely changed and so is the aiming. This game plays NOTHING like the beta that everyone loved<<no one came here ‘whining and crying’ that some of you are saying we’re doing now.
Whether you like how the games plays now or not, right now all I really want is a statement from 343 explaining why these changes are so drastic from the beta when the community didn’t ask for them (the point to a beta) and now these forums are blowing up because of it.
I hope some changes big changes are coming in a future patch.
I agree man you don’t have to even be killing somone just stand one spot and move it around and it doesn’t feel right the beta felt like I had more freedom and was more responsive how don’t people see that?.
I agree it’s harder to aim, at first. Like another commented about playing other games for so long then switching back to Halo it does seem strange for me. Other players don’t seem to have any problems popping my mellon during SWAT. Enjoying the game overall.

This guy. My only complaint is the story and the fact I can’t have my air assault helmet until I randomly get it. . . Sigh

> I keep hoping this is just a bad dream and that I’ll wake up from it, but it’s real. The aiming is garbage. I still have not gotten used to it. It’s just awful. I know I don’t need to go into detail about how bad these aiming mechanics are, because so many other people have expressed what’s wrong, but it’s nothing like any Halo before it. Why change what was NEVER wrong with Halo? Every game in MCC feels amazing, as far as aiming is concerned. Going back and forth between different Halo games on there is effortless and I’m always confident that my shot will be on. This game is just wonky as hell. I can’t even begin to express my disappointment with the aiming mechanics. I really hope they listen to us and make this game feel like EVERY game before it. And not just a little deadzone tweaking or accel tweaking…it needs a 100% revert back to how we all know Halo is supposed to feel. It’s just not a fun game. I gave it a legitimate chance after 23 hours of play, but it’s still bad. There’s just no getting used to the aiming in this game. So much potential…damn…

Because the “pros” tested it. Because they represent the majority of the gaming community right? 343 just doesn’t think right. They’ve made a halo game to appeal to the kiddies in some aspects, but then for their multiplayer they rely on the advice of the smallest of the smallest minority that play Halo. It doesn’t make sense. I’m above average in this game and I don’t know what the issue is, but it does feel like I’m fighting the controls. I can’t tell you what it is, I don’t look at all these aiming videos and tests, etc. But I’ve played Halo for 12 years straight and I can tell you that intuitively something is wrong. I’m in love with the idea of low aim assist but it feels like that isn’t consistent. I feel like its a “sticky” control system. It doesn’t have the buttery feel of other Halos.
And while aiming supposedly has low assist, they need to make that consistent. Spartan charge has become a homing missile, as well as the melee lunge. Love the balance of the sandbox immensely. IMMENSELY. But something is off with the controls. Whether its just a crowded controller, or whatever, something feels off.

I couldn’t agree more I absolutely loved the beta it played so well outside of what you said the OP grenades and AR was a bit too powerful (tho bullet magnetism was a little too strong as well) but now with the drastic change to aim which I am absolutely horrible at and the radar hurting more than helping, I am just done with the game unless it gets fixed. I really want to love Halo 5, I really do, I want to enjoy playing the game but the aiming is so horribly atrocious it completely throws all fun I could have out the window. Favoring aiming changes for pros or the super competitive, who are the vast minority, is bad for the game and if not change fast (and I mean very fast) say goodbye to Halo 5 population and hello to Halo 4 v2.0 cause this game will die with Black Ops 3 coming in 2 days and Battlefront coming in 13 days.
Maybe adjust your settings? I haven’t been having that much trouble with the aim but some people have been complaining about it being “slow”. Try some different sensitivity levels and maybe it’ll feel better.
I have no issues with the aiming whatsoever. I didn’t originally agree with their choice to move away from the classic shooting style, but then again, a lot of people wanted something new. It took a while to get acquainted with it, but now it feels normal to me. Seems to me like some people are exaggerating and looking for things to complain about. They have no reason to change it, especially since it is a core game mechanic.
I absolutely will lose my mind if I see another post along the lines of “adapt to it” or “it creates skill gap”. No…it’s a flaw in the game. Watch the YouTube videos…moving diagonally goes a ton slower than side to side. There are dead zones and completely ruin the smoothness of aiming. If you can’t notice this, you’re either not very good at aiming or you’re blinded by sucking up to 343.
Have you tried every sensitivity? I just default to 10 cause that’s what I always use, and it continues to work for me. Also, try utilizing your left stick more?
