So confused what you guys are talking about? Is it the aim assistance? I always turn mine off in all my shooters. I don’t like being dragged by enemies running in front of my target. So maybe I’m just used to it. I’m not seeing any slow acceleration problems, of course I play with max sensitivity so maybe I got past it? I know as my xbox one controllers get older, the joysticks start not registering. I blow them out with a can of air and it seems to make them register better.
This game to me seems the pinnacle of halo consistency. Four BR or DMR headshots equals one kill always. Same with 5 pistol shots. Only empathy I can offer is because my friends complain about ARing people. They are use to the reticle sticking to a person as they shoot. Maybe some clips would help?
I really love the mp but yes the aiming is so badddd. And with battlefront coming out soon i know im switching to that

Now it’s just impossible to consistently track a target. I’ll always get them one shot and then after that I can’t hit them for -Yoink-
Yeah I feel you, getting that last shot was so easy in H3, in H5 it’s like a magnet “unsnaps” and you have to readjust for that final shot (which is almost as hard as hitting an ally, it seems)

Another thread complaining about no aim assist.

This is what it sounds like. A tough game was made even tougher and years of “skill” development in aiming has to be re-learned/adjusted. Too big a skill gap would be an obvious problem in a product that needs to appeal to more than those in the Champion ranks. My aim always sucks, so I wouldn’t know.
Yup, I’ve too legitimatly stopped playing. Why are we on here complaining after we’ve already quit? Well that shouldn’t be too hard to figure out, a little common sense is all. We would like to COME BACK! We CARE about the game. But it’s just too damn frustrating to not have your reticle go where you tell it to. For the record, I was still doing pretty good. It just feels like -Yoink- and it’s uncomfortable. I got a lot of kills but ALL of them felt lucky. Screw that! I believe the issue has something to do with aim acceleration and/or dead zone. As soon as these issues get ironed out I’d like to come back. But BO3, Battlefront, and Fallout are just a week away so I’ll live either way. Will Halo?

> It’s not about the lack of aim assist. We’re all grateful for that. It has to do more with the amount of aim acceleration. If you played the beta, I’m sure you can agree the aiming felt much more fluid. Now though, I feel like I’m fighting with my controller in order to aim properly.
This hit the nail on the head. I am fairly good, I’d say 1.2 - 1.4 kdr, and I hate the way the aiming is instituted in this game. If 343 were to fix the dead zones and slightly fix the aim acceleration, on top of fixing the multiplayer lobbies, this game might contend for my favorite multiplayer halo game of all time. Really, just a few small changes to an otherwise excellent game.
(For those looking at my kdr, its rather skewed since my son Alexander and his cousin Cesar always log on and play under my account…needless to say, they are not too good… Oh well.)

Also, the people that claim the aim is good, are either 343 employees, gay for a 343 employee, or were never good with precise aiming to begin with. For those that say aiming is good, move your reticle in a tight precise circle, while looking at an inanimate object(that way you can’t claim it has some -Yoink- to do with aim assist) film it and tell us with one hand on the bible that YOU ARE OK with the movement that occurred with your reticle on screen. TRUST ME YOU CANT GO AHEAD TRY TO PROVE ME WRONG
Just had to post on this lol. I’ve been a halo fan since the beginning was super hyped for this game. Didn’t know just assumed split screen for my son and I well that was killer. The. Started playing and the aiming mechanics were so bad. Thankfully eb games if you have the edge card can return for something in store which I just traded for Xbox money. Lots of people will defend halo from this guy but the reality is the aiming mechanics are terribad so get your money back and wait for battlefront. Oh and the campaign was really bad.

There’s nothing to fix
Wow, I thought it was just me and I was getting too old, but help me out here, nobody wants to play because it sucks so bad.

Well for one, I’m glad we only have to wait till Tuesday for all the whiney complainers to quit.
Please no hate guys, but I adjusted easily to the new aiming system. I’d prefer smaller dead zones, but I am doing just fine.

AR’s are stong, radar is weak, teammates spawn close, Spartans are fast and have multiple instant kill moves then they weaken the aiming mechanics. Can I at least aim like I used to 343, geez. I get that they want to change some things but, damn. I can’t trust that my shoot is going to hit even if my reticle is on target.
I would really like it if they had a sensitivity higher than 10. The current max turn speed is way too slow.
I definitely remember the Beta having smoother aiming so I’m glad I’m not alone in this.
Not sure what prompted them to change it from that, but I’d much much rather have that aiming than the way it is now.
You all handled Halo 3’s aiming acceleration just fine…

Meh it goes both ways. Some people truly don’t see an issue with it and those that do freak out at them. Either way, people just need to continue providing feedback and changes will be made if necessary.

We had no choice.

Good point…
