Maaaaaan all this whining about nothing I kill people just fine H5 best thing since H3
Aiming is difficult and that is awesome.
Too those saying that the people complaining are simply not good as this new aiming “increases the skill gap” couldn’t be more wrong. As others have said the skill gap has actually decreased due to the fact that highly skilled players can no longer land every shot with the inconsistent aim acceleration and deadzones (just like bloom in reach). The fact that you need to learn to adapt to the new aiming doesn’t mean that it requires skill, it simply means you have a change how you aim in order to be decent at the game, and this applies for all skill levels.
If you don’t notice the aiming changes, you most likely aren’t a very competitive player unfortunately. I can notice millisecond input lag and cannot play on anything other than gaming monitor and a wired connection. Jumping back to Halo 4 or Titanfal felt far far more responsive and in no way did I feel like I was fighting the controls. Even though I can play H5 competitively, it feels awful and needs to change in order to get me to play it again. Super disappointed.
Basically this is a real problem for highly competitive players and if you don’t notice it, that doesn’t mean that it isn’t there. It is very obvious for those sensitive these changes, and even though you can learn to adapt to it, fundamentally it is a flawed system that at the highest end of skill, with inhibit the player every time. Really getting tired of reading these ignorant posts that cover these threads.

No, what makes it ridiculous is that fact no one can compromise on anything. That is ridiculous.
This is the paradox game developers live in. One minute people are saying a game is getting bland, nothing is changing so they try their best to add some changes and everyone loses their -Yoink- and demands it goes back to the way it was. They simply try to balance the aiming and i can see what they were going for. The acceleration is kind of low at first for the medium to long ranges where you won’t be moving your stick much to stay on target. As the range decreases you will need more speed and more movement to track your target. If they change anything I hope it’s simply something you can adjust these settings and not change it all together.
This Halo 5 got issues man…I even saw panda bear running across the war zone battlefield. Who wanna shoot at the cute bear? Man…I need more beer.
Lets try this again.
Can’t we all agree to adding an enable / disable option in the settings to either use it as-is or turn it off (with the minimal amount of aim assist and a linear increase in turn speed (no acceleration))?That hurts absolutely no one that likes the current setup and mitigates the issues many people have had with the current control scheme.
What say you?
And for those complaining it ruins competive play, the people who play halo professionally helped 343 pick this style of aiming sooo…
I like it.
I’m enjoying the aiming system very much. I don’t have any problems with it. I think it’s even better than in h4.
I can’t believe someone just said the aiming decreases the skill gap loloz Nothing has changed. Those that are highly skilled Halo players are still highly skilled and those like myself that are not good at Halo multiplayer are still not good at Halo multiplayer. I am getting better because I play it more often, but that still hasn’t translated into a good K/D. My K/D sucks. I also have only been playing Halo multiplayer for about 6 months since I bought an XBox One and got MCC. I played all the Halo’s back in the day but wasn’t into multiplayer. Now that I am really in to multiplayer it is too late. I will never catch up. The skill gap is still the same. Aiming is fine. If you don’t like it go back to MCC or go play some garbage game like COD or Destiny.

I somewhat agree, but if you add a disable option People will say it adds and advantage one way or another. An on/off feature wouldn’t fix the problem but add more. The ability to adjust the acceleration would be the best fix
I haven’t really noticed a difference, in swat, however, in warzone I do feel its weirdness. I feel like the headshots just don’t connect when they should. By all means keep the auto aim low. but this doesn’t account for the inconsistency that I feel when playing warzone.
I have no idea what everyone’s problem is. I played the -Yoink- out of the beta and I’ve been an avid Halo player for years. It’s honestly not a big deal and I haven’t had any issues pointing my gun at what I want to.
It’s nice to hear this from someone with the stats to back it up so we don’t hear the usual “get gud” retort.

God, why do you put that snarky smiley face in there? I can’t stand it when people act like this in forums.

How would a disable feature give an advantage one way or the other? That would allow people to choose what they want. If I don’t want it, I don’t have to play with it. If I think it gives an advantage, then I can turn it on. Your point makes no sense.

I never ONCE, heard anyone say “Man, the game is getting bland, they should change the aiming mechanism and make it act like a Kangaroo on -Yoink!-”

I honestly wish they would do something like this, but I doubt it will happen. I haven’t had a problem with it, but simply adding the ability to enable or disable it would calm the masses that have been crying out about how the aiming system is broken.

Nonsense. Millisecond input lag? bwhahaha okay there Kobe
The skill gap is exactly the same. Top level players are still top level and those of us who are not great still consistently get our -Yoinks!- kicked. Nothing has changed.
