Crapy aiming crapy post…lol BB
The ADS is so pointless
Quit being -Yoink-'s and just play the game … lmao
It is called using maxed out sensitivity on a good Wifi. Trust me, it helps.

yeah me too
What? I’ve been getting more headshots with this game than any prior Halo. How is everyone having such a problem? It feels so much easier now… so confused…

Just because you can’t tell a difference in the aiming in Halo 5 doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. It’s been proven multiple times in multiple threads on Waypoint, Reddit, and NeoGaf that there is something really off about the aiming mechanics in H5. I’ve also experienced the problems as soon as I started playing on the first day the game was released. So just because you aren’t as sensitive or aware to tell a difference with how the aiming mechanics work does not give you the right to completely blow it off and tell others they’re complaining because they aren’t good at the game.
I’ve been going back and forth with Halo 5 and MCC and can immediately tell a difference with just the responsiveness and actually being able to aim where I intend to aim instead of having aim acceleration screwing up my aim and overcompensating of where I intend to place my reticle. Sometimes I can’t even move the reticle over someone as they’re moving to the side. It’s like I’m fighting my aim more often than fighting enemies. Makes for a very sluggish experience.
I prefer the aiming mechanics in Halo 5 to the earlier games, the aiming in the older games feels awkward and outdated

Okay I gotcha. I have noticed my short range gameplay has been a bit iffy, but it’s nothing i can’t compensate for.

You made a legitimate point and got an ad hominem insult in return, based off an unfounded assumption that you get off on complaining. Maybe so, or maybe you’re just stating a different opinion. Comparing complaining about a fundamental game mechanic to someone complaining about silverware not being arranged correctly is absurd, I’m not even sure explaining why is necessary. What I will say is that I disagree that controller issues aren’t important to a game and can indeed lead to a ‘bad’ experience - the controller is the only thing you use to interact with the game world. To me, Halo 5 currently feels like a supercar with shoddy tyres - it doesn’t matter if you have everything else in order if one crucial component is off.
I love the overall feel of Halo 5 and almost all of the big gameplay changes, I feel 343 have really nailed giving Halo 5 a definitive identity. However, aiming pervades everything you do in the game, so if you can’t enjoy it due to the aiming then it dampens everything else. They held a beta to identify issues, the aiming was fine, now it’s been changed - it seems like unnecessary tinkering. To me, the easiest solution is to provide two options, then everyone is accommodated.
I have the perfect solution for this divided forum. Those who are upset with the aim mechanic be on the red team and those who don’t mind the change, be on the blue team. We will have a war zone battle. What do you guys say?
I suggest looking where your enemies head would he as you walk around corners, also it help to memorize where the center of your aim is… after that you don’t need to do much adjusting when you face enemies, walking side to side can also take part in your aiming… and dodge bullets. everything takes practice!

Its not an issue about being ignorant or an inability to adapt. Its about recognizing a core aspect of FPS game play that provides negative value to the fundamental FPS process of pointing and shooting.
- An across the board sensitivity drop when you reticle approaches a target does not enhance the aiming process. This sensitivity drop only helps at times of excessive input that is leading toward over aiming, but otherwise this sensitivity drop hurts natural subtle aiming adjustments by making the reticle heavy, sluggish, and unresponsive to player input.
- The acceleration jump that occurs does not help players develop muscle memory, is simply makes controlling the reticle unpredictable. How does this bring value to the core FPS experience?
CS:GO is a fantastic FPS, and yet the aiming mechanics on the console version were simply awful and it ended up ruining the entire game. The core process of pointing and shooting should be intuitive, predictable, engaging, and a rewarding process. If its not, then the game will fail.
I love the lack of aim assist, it makes a player more skilled to be able to pull a headshot off without relying on the game to pull their sights over that last little inch. Coming from destiny where that ridiculous aim assist would come screw over my shots that I was trying to lead or have an enemy run through my sights and cause it to move off their head a follow them. Now I don’t have to worry about it anymore in Halo 5. Which is amazing!! Also, to anyone who has problem with the dead stop motion of it, try raising your sensitivity up one level at a time because that minor movement will move farther in relation to the joystick movement.
Also, don’t fix it 343i. I like the way it is. Which is this guy’s opinion…
Hey Mum did you hear that?..they want more aimassist(that’s all,no aim acceleration nor something else, just autoaim)
It seems to be a big problem for folks wich are used to strafe down enemys without re-adjust to the enemy target…
tbh this is good old Halo CE aiming don’t spam aim and shoot.

Perfectly said. Some people on these forums are way too quick to judge someone bringing up a legitimate concern for a video game they love just as much as the next person on these forums. It is so childish how quickly people will say stuff like, “Ha, nothing wrong with the aiming, Get better scrublord.” or “I don’t notice a difference therefore my opinion is correct. Get good.”
The aiming mechanics in Halo 5 are my biggest concern for this game. It’s making mine and a lot of other players’ experiences sub par. Hopefully this issue is brought up by 343i and fixed accordingly.
This is to funny. What a bunch of -Yoink!-. the aiming is fine. Theirs a small learning curve I got used to it after a few games.
The aiming is basically the same as halo 3’s sniper rifles ability to aim now all weapons can, and it still cancels when you shoot them. I have no problem with it I just hip fire.
np
I agree. The aiming can be very frustrating at times. I love this game so far, and it has only been out about a week, so I’m going to give it a chance, but I hope they patch it soon. I would love the gunplay to be more fluid.
