Well my friends, I'm done with this game's aiming

> I wish my stats were as good as the OP lol. I’m tanking in this game. I’ve never been great but always held a positive K/D spread… Not so much in this one. My KDA sucks, maybe a 2.0 or lower lol, in the Beta though I was around a 5. Been a rough go for me…

Eh, he has an alright K/D Mine all together is a 1.598 my lowest is a 1.429 in Team Slayer.

Aim is fine git gud

The kills and deaths matter for obtaining your rank, not wins. If you go 20 and 0, lose a game and yet continue doing extremely well, you’ll be placed in a high bracket. Then winning will be the only thing that increases your rank.

Pretty sure this was stated weeks before Halo 5 launched.

Bye then

I also play using the charging wire always plugged in. Maybe try that if your able to. I noted slightly better response when using the cable. It could be all in my head.

Just keep playing, you will get better and learn to appreciate what it takes to win in matchmaking.

Halo pros destroyed over in Call of Duty when they switched for the time between halo reach and halo 5.

It’s not surprise this is the most competitive shooter out there

So what was so wrong with the aiming in the old halos and beta that it needed to be fixed (broken). I didn’t have an issue initially but reaching Onyx and diamond 3/4 in game modes makes it blatantly obvious that the acceleration is messed up. It fails to function properly in clutch engagements.

I play and have played Battlefield games, CoD, games, CS games, Halo games etc. each with their own aiming functions, I never had any issues with any shooter ever. Halo 5 beta came along and that too felt right. When I wanted to aim at a certain spot, it did.

Now that H5 is out the aiming is wacky. The delayed or lack of movement when I move my analog is not a properly working function. Neither is the sudden jumps players experience from over compensating the movement because the reticle didn’t move in the first place.

If the output isn’t reflecting the correct input it’s broken.

The normal aim assist when firing at one enemy does not bother me, that’s easy enough to do.

My BIGGEST issue is when I’m aiming at someone cross-map with a BR and another enemy player walks in front of the person I am aiming at (even at the great distant… We’re talking from BR Tower to back of Rail Gun Tower on Orion) the BR aim FOLLOWS the player that walked in front and screws up my shot. The auto-aim from that distance shouldn’t be great enough to remove my aiming capabilities on another enemy player. THAT is my problem with the aim assist.

I have adjusted just fine. Quit whining and hit the shooting range.

That’s a terrible analogy. I could say it sounds like you can’t read with the lights on. But that doesn’t make anymore sense, does it?

Truth.

Didn’t go neg a single game and have a high K/d in FFA. Ranked Onyx out of the gate

I like the smart scope and the aim is “more halo” and more rewarding than destiny. Of course there is something off, it’s most notable in SWAT

They just need to fix what ever glitch / lag and this game will be fine … oh and the matchmaking needs some work

Agreed OP, the aiming mechanics are awful.

I have a detailed post about the across the board sensitivity drop that occurs when your reticle approaches a target, why its bad, and how to fix it. Hopefully 343 takes notice of it.

This video also showcases just how bad the acceleration jump is. Its an unintuitive and unpredictable change in reticle speed. How is this acceleration jump considered a positive aiming mechanic??? How is it supposed to help us build muscle memory???

Those are my two major issues with aiming. But I also take issue with the fact that the 10 sensitivity is extremely slow compared to previous Halos. And I am also not a fan of the amount of bullet magnetism that occurs (perhaps after they fix the aiming mechanics, they can reduce bullet magnetism).

I just try to aim a little higher than normal lol

You aren’t anywhere close to Onyx… and you have a 1.0 k/d overall. Seems to me it could be user error.

> I keep hoping this is just a bad dream and that I’ll wake up from it, but it’s real. The aiming is garbage. I still have not gotten used to it. It’s just awful. I know I don’t need to go into detail about how bad these aiming mechanics are, because so many other people have expressed what’s wrong, but it’s nothing like any Halo before it. Why change what was NEVER wrong with Halo? Every game in MCC feels amazing, as far as aiming is concerned. Going back and forth between different Halo games on there is effortless and I’m always confident that my shot will be on. This game is just wonky as hell. I can’t even begin to express my disappointment with the aiming mechanics. I really hope they listen to us and make this game feel like EVERY game before it. And not just a little deadzone tweaking or accel tweaking…it need

> Sure the aiming is a big change but you don’t have to use it… You can fire from the hip! I’ve done it just fine because like you I’m a fan of the original games but one thing I’ve learned from this franchise is that each title comes with a new change for better (firefight/dual wielding) or for worse (Specializations/Spartan ops) . Overall I personally enjoy this game and I like the direction 343 is going with this.
> s a 100% revert back to how we all know Halo is supposed to feel. It’s just not a fun game. I gave it a legitimate chance after 23 hours of play, but it’s still bad. There’s just no getting used to the aiming in this game. So much potential…damn…

The aiming and the radar is messed up. They decreased the range for the radar why the hell did they do that. 343 thinks they could go and change the radar range and the aiming mechs like its okay. 6 Halo games have came put b4 this one. And they say hey on the 7th one lets change what ppl have been used to for 10+ years. I’m including odst and reach.

deffo tougher so I go in all guns blazing on 2 sensitivity lolol but bleh il still play

That video was disproven by the ORIGINAL uploader of that video. He had a different preset configuration in his xbox settings. Don’t use this as any type of evidence because this uploader/redditer apologized and disproved his own video
