Although I’m irked at the “we’re not trying to be cod, but we’re just copying and pasting practically all their game elements onto ours”, I wonder if the way they’re supposedly “tweaking” things could actually work. If the armor abilities do something like drain your shields when you use them, that could prevent people from just camping/running around cloaked, flying straight up so that you have to damn near bend over backwards just to shoot them, etc. I’m still not so sure about how this “forerunner” vision (corny name) can be tweaked for it to not be a “noob helper”. It seems like they’re trying to put emphasis on the fact that we all are wearing mjolnir armor with functions. I just hope things like map control and the “us vs them” feeling of halo is still very much intact. I’m remaining open minded to this “evolution”. I’m really concerned about the insta respawns though. That could tie directly into map control and flag cap games. Perhaps the insta respawn is only in bts? I dunno. Like I said, I’m trying to remain open and optimistic about halo 4 which I’m getting regardless. However, when 343 states they aren’t chasing cod, etc. then turn around and put cod features in halo, it feels like they’re doing EXACTLY what they say they aren’t.

I can’t be the only one seeing a pattern here…
well what the -Yoink-. Should we all just stop posting on waypoint since “halo is destroyed”? Did you even read my post?
the things you posted would be even worse imo.
but whatever. its not gonna be ok no matter what at this point.
then lets all abandon the waypoint forums and not buy the game.
> well what the -Yoink!-. Should we all just stop posting on waypoint since “halo is destroyed”? Did you even read my post?
Ha ha!! Excellent idea, let’s boycott halo waypoint forums, that’ll get there attention because there website traffic stats would plummet
> well what the -Yoink!-. Should we all just stop posting on waypoint since “halo is destroyed”? Did you even read my post?
Yes I read it and it just confirms my point. “OK so X is in the game but maybe it’ll only be in Y”?
Not bloody likely.

We’ll…maybe I’ll find the cure to cancer.

nah, I’m feeling super apprehensive about it. The point of this thread is that I’ve already gone through my ZOMG?!?! WTF/?!?!?! FREAKOUT HEAD EXPLODES" stage all of yesterday. I don’t think we should spend the next 5 months telling 343 they suck and that they ruined halo. All i’m saying is, all we can do at this point is hope that some miracle happens and the “tweaks” they make to the cod features they copied, are made to some how be fun.

wow, you’d kill yourself?!? man…kind of noble of you.
That’s the spirit. Stay optimistic. Fanboy of Halo that I am, this has shaken my faith in Halo tremendously. Luckily I saw in the article last night that the game still play s like Haloz.

Not taking a side here but, the community is taking all of the AA, “perk” stuff pretty hard contrasting to what you think the community’s pattern is.

5 stages of greif:
denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance.
I’d say it fits quite well, minus depression. Right now you’re at the “bargaining” stage
You know, just for -Yoink- sakes I’ll jsut buy the game and if I enjoy it than good for me, if I don’t well jokes on me. I honesty don’t give a -Yoink- anymore.

Wrong, I’m at the stage of accepting that there simply is no escape from the COD wave. Devs call coping COD “evolving” their franchise. I wonder who’ll be the next dev that actually brings something new to the fps genre.

I actually thought CoD was dying out 'till Call of Halo was announced.
Most of the people have absolutely no faith in 343i to make the game and implement the changes right. Guys, the game isnt ruined. Ok, so you dont like the aspects they are putting into multiplayer, that is your problem. But how exactly does that ruin firefight, campaign, forge, custom games, theater and whatever new item is added.
Besides that, have faith guys. Trust 343i to make things right. Do you really, really think they would implement something monumentally gamechanging? I doubt they are that stupid.
Look i know you guys are concerned, and after reach you have all right to be. but dont blacklist the game quite yet ok? I know the items are concerning, but we have little to no information on them at all, so lets wait a bit longer shall we? If I’m wrong, then by all means rub it in my face. But dont give up on the game quite yet.

Erm…yeah, about FF…
It’s not in the game.

When all the money is milked from the COD system. Games are business and original ideas will always take a back seat to what has made the most money in the past.
