Well looks like they improved the graphics but the pistol still looks to plane it looks like the pistols we have now and days it doesn’t really look like a pistol made for a Spartan
Looks way better now in my opinion has a bulk the old model lacked.
Also looks way more interesting than halo 2s pistol or the silenced Socom.
The desert Eagle has shown up in the fiction so I don’t know why people think normal weapons don’t exist in halo. Also I can’t say it looks any more or less like real side arms than reach, ce or 3 hand canons.
I prefer halo 4 and 5s designs personally but its a damn good looking gun now for sure and a big step up from the reveal model.

Halo CE design was the best and it looked like it belonged in Halo the new one does not look like it belongs and the Halo CE design is a classic so why change it the need to bring back the Halo CE pistol
You just described a gun that was part of the 1st game that defined what halo was as “looking like it belonged in halo.” Just a weird statement is all

what I want to know is why does 343 feel the need to change everything people like about Halo

Because they are Halo fans themselves with things they’d like to see or believe would be a good direction. I don’t blame them one bit for wanting to leave their own mark. Nor have they “changed everything people like about Halo.”
The cool thing about video games? Not everyone likes the same designs, and guess what that’s the best part, if everyone liked the same design there wouldn’t wouldn’t be different designs. Not everyone can be happy 100% of the time.

Clearly Bungie hated Halo themselves since they removed the AR in Halo 2 AND changed the pistol in Halo 3. Oh and removed the BR and Beam Rifle in Reach. And changed the shotgun design in Reach.
Almost like developers like trying new things, right? How do people not get this?

Is there any reason to this aside from it being your opinion?
They all look like they belong in halo really. There is no rule to what defines a halo gun in the end.
As for why the CE magnum isn’t there now, that feels pretty obvious given the live service model of the game for 10 years. Plus they already made toys with the old weapons and halo is a multimedia franchise not just a game.

Exactly and as we know bungie was a singular static entity
they never changed internally or anything. Thats why they Made marathon combat evolved

Even Bungie changed the design of many weapons and enemies during their tenure. Just look at the brutes from Halo 2 to Halo 3, or from Halo 3 to Reach. They look entirely different. Not to mention the large number of pistol redesigns through the games. Halo Reach, 3, and CE share a fairly common design, but Halo 2 and ODST each have very distinct, different pistols. Or just look at the shotgun change from the OT to Reach. These games would get boring if nothing was ever changed.

I think it stems from the fact that nostalgia is such a big thing these days, and people don’t like change in general. Do you remember the complaining about the rocket launcher redesign in Halo 5? I think that’s a nice example. Personally for me I like to see changes, now that doesn’t mean I love every redesign, not even close. But I think sometimes a redesign or change is necessary, especially considering this game is meant to be the launchpad for the next ten or so years.

I think the same accusation could easily be leveled at Bungie as well . They made as many sweeping changes some great some not so great over the life cycle of the 5 titles they made . Is it a case of Bungie get a pass but 343 don’t ?
The latest sidekick looks pretty good to me. It seems inspired by the automag from ODST which is probably the best pistol design. You can fault 343 for a lotta of stuff, but I don’t think the sidekick visual design is one of them.

The auto mag was fine for halo three ODST but it just looks out place to me for a Spartan the magnum from Halo CE now that’s a pistol for a Spartan
I actually enjoyed the Design and if you think about it the pistol looks small because Marines would also use it as well. With Halo CE’s design I think Bungie thought about creating a pistol for the Spartan first before giving it to Marines and that’s fine but I think some credit to 343 is due because I think they designed it with both a Spartan and Marine using it.

What you don’t seem to comprehend is that the pistol in H:I isn’t even the same weapon from CE, duh.
They actually didn’t even change it because it isn’t the M6D Magnum from CE but the Sidekick,
which can be compared to todays Glocks.
Your whole argument is basically invalid, mate. It is not a different design, it is a completely different weapon.
I actually really like it now. They changed it enough that it looks more Halo-y without just using a completely different model.

No it doesn’t look Halo-y
