Well just checked out the April 5, 2022 update!

just reading through this and I cant believe anyone would call you of all people a shill, he must be somewhat new here

Probably never. It was never a definite.

?
Yes…yes it was a definite.

It says he joined on Nov 15, but he only started posting just recently, so yeah, that is probably the only logical reason.

Didn’t we all join on Nov15 ish… start of the new forum!

Pretty sure they said they would look into it.

Yes, but some joined later, like me.

Are we talking about the blog or something else?

Since Xmas…
This was the update on challenges and progression in the January update

‘Today marks the third overall update to Challenges and Progression since Halo Infinite’s beta launch on November 15. In each case, Challenges have been iterated and tuned, removing outliers and adjusting troublesome entries, while also helping to speed up overall Battle Pass progression. So far, we’re happy with the results of these changes, but we know there are plenty of opportunities to continue evolving and improving.

There’s a lot of work to do here to truly address player feedback around these systems – and broader changes are going to take time (i.e. performance based XP, per-match XP, additional progression vectors, etc…)– but in the interim, the team will continue targeting meaningful services-side updates to hone and improve the overall experience.

Today’s update aims to further alleviate frustrating challenges, adds brand new challenges to take advantage of the new playlists, and reduces the requirements for the weekly Ultimate Challenge. And, while it won’t come into play quite yet, changes have also been made for Event Challenges to help address some initial player feedback.’

And this was from the last update…

‘We’ll have another Outcomes blog focusing on the Live Team’s areas such as Customization, Shop, Battle Pass, Progression (Challenges), Events, Theater, and Observer Mode in the near future. Be sure to keep an eye out for it here on Halo Waypoint and give it a read when it lands.’

For some reason I thought they were going to implement a progression system that took into account campaign/MP/Forge/Firefigjt…. Basically the whole game.

But reading above I don’t think they have any ambition to do this and the only progression system we will get will be the Battle Pass or some iteration like the fracture events and cyber baloney!

Fair enough.

Reach’s progression is the worst in the series. A forever carrot-on-stick where there were notable grinds. Everybody who suffered it remembers Warrant Officer Grade 3. Do not proclaim this is a preferable system, it was HORRID and KILLED custom games.

This is my favorite progression system in the IPs history. Gave you something to work towards at all times and allowed you to pick and choose what you wanted to unlock and when.

It also gave players the ability to make progress while playing Firefight or Campaign with the way their challenges worked which would be greatly appreciated if they would do that in Infinite.

Was it perfect, no. Still my preference above all other attempts.

I used it as an example not as a quintessential virtue… however some sort of progression system would be preferred in my book than none!

although - I don’t think it’s in their scope so not to worry you!

I think you get it… it puts a value to your experience. I enjoy halo for simplicity, but it’s nice to look at other players and know who you’re playing.

Infinite lacks this in many ways.

MCC’s progression is my personal favorite. A bit grindy but a lot more relaxed overall.

I don’t really get the point of going round in circles, once I did the first term I lost interest. I enjoyed H3’s where you moved up rank captain brig general etc but I also like how reach/H5 were much longer. I would like something in between those.

I think a H5 type of rank progression would be best
